PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Final table round up!

2birch1bangerlong-1

Do something nice in ’17…

“Jose”: It was a battle lost & pretty much done at the top for two thirds of the season given the sibling rivalry that fuelled the fire for revenge …and how it drove that ambition!

From Week 6 it was forgone conclusion given the relentless posting of high end scores by our new champion!

He started down in a lowly 49th, climbed to 20th, then up to 4th a week later (still behind Frankie F I might add!) –  the push into the Top Two was thwarted slightly by a drop to 5th in Week 4…

However, once ensconced at two by Week 5, it was at the summit all the way – with no let up whatsoever…frightening!

Once the the top slot was cemented in Week 6 there he stayed…

A phenomenal performance it has to said that came with a “second” to last season’s “first” – the 400 point barrier was breached once again my friends!

Tony M’s record points tally was so nearly matched and my prediction of the current record never being beaten came under serious threat…

So, be upstanding lords, ladies & gents to give props to Jason Morris 404 (55) – He. Is. A. Winner!

Jason ended on a massive 37 point lead over another stalwart of the PAS game, Charlie Harris, in second place. The Forest fella finished 4 points ahead of “Syndicate loose cannon” Richard Hirst in third place (and a Forest 2-3 to boot!). My old mucker from South London, Ryan Graves emulated his beloved Reds by securing 4th on the last day…

Just six points further back, Marin Stafford reflects the feel good (?!!) buzz that’s abound at OT at the moment by finishing in fifth spot with PAS Cup finalist, Jack Buxton scooping 6th place just 1 point shy… (current scores in both Finals below FYI!)

“Dream Team” creator (make sure YOU play next season – some PASers did very well this season!) Pete Britton chipped in at 7th just one point behind, and only another point back, Andy Chesworth finished in eighth (get well soon Andy – maybe the cash will buy you a walking stick??!)

PAS stealth mover, Pete Morley stole into 9th virtue of 6 points and my favourite person with 18 kids, Rowan Marriott, plundered 10th by edging out Simon Lindq thanks to the 3 correct scores he chalked up in Week 13….

“Arsene”: Just 5 points separated our new champion from Neil Critchlow 237 (21) in Week 1! The Stockport Welshman never really recovered from there, slipping to 60th, 71st, 82nd & 83rd in consecutive weeks hitting bottom in Week 6.

And there he stayed, securing this season’s wooden spoon.

Not seen him for a while but I cannot wait to present his prize – hahaha!

My mum, James C & Lee F made gallant efforts over the season to save Neil’s blushes but…

See you at the next gig Neil!

Spot Prizers

OK, YOU have finished on these positions and you HAVE won those prizes!

Simon Lindquist on 11th, Eddie Osborne on 12th, Simon Buxton on 17th, Ben Hogwood on 24th, Danny Ashworth on 27th, George Triantafillou on 31st, Neil Meredith on 33rd, Julian Fernandez 39th, Danny Norbury on 42nd, Sam Arora on 45th, Neil Osborne on 49th, Paul Henshaw on 51st, Sam Craig on 57th, Paul Carter on 65th, Richard Hughes on 66th, Dan Hogwood on 71st, Rob Currin on 78th, Lee Ford on 83rd & Patricia Fernandez on 84th.

And Another Thing

See that banner at the top of this update?

He may be a West ‘Am slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag but he’s doing good things in 2017 – check this out and if you can, give him some support!

“As some of you may know, in July next year me and my little brother (I say little, he is a few inches taller than me, the b*stard) will be setting off from Goodwood and travelling 10,000 miles in an old Fiat van across the globe as part of the Mongol Rally. And we are hoping to raise money for charity along the way
 – full details here.
Also check out the sponsorship opportunities for our team on the Just Giving page. All amazing (if I do say so myself) and all cost significantly less than a Arsenal season ticket!
So there it is, that’s our story. If you want, follow us on twitter @2birch1banger and Instagram 2birch1banger” – Chris B

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N & Dan H for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch free!) season…check the new “feel” on the site! Apparently it’s absolutely mint now for mobile users…nope, me neither.

See you in August – have a great summer!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 13 round up!

Still got it…

Tomorrow Comes Today”: You can tell it’s the end of the season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in. Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into the spring sunshine (well, maybe not in MCR. Actually…). Form goes out the window & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country. So how do you combat this perennial problem? Don’t ask me, I got less than Mr 2-0 this week – grrrrr! (and I tried sooo hard!!!)

Maybe Danny Ashworth 33 (7) can tell us how he came up on the blindside with two correct scores from the last two games to slip the last £20 from my mum’s hands? My money’s on the fact he knew that Spurs would hit the bar & post to keep a 2-0 scoreline at the Lane a respectable one…

On Melancholy Hill”: It’s the end of the season, there are crazy scores expected and the sun really was out with a vengeance. Why bother doing your scores?

Kate Slee/Olly Osmond/Richard Hughes/John King 6 (0) are all wondering just that. Well, our Dan may have an insight for you guys…

“A little stat for you, it was the fourth lowest average player score in a week ever!

Average player score 15(2)

Lowest average ever – 14(1)”

Doesn’t help does it….

Correct Score of the Week:

Not a bad effort considering…. – most popular score was Burton’s 1-1 draw at Barnsley – 18 of youse got that!

Six got the ding dong 2-2 between Jambos & The Jags

5 got the tasty Derby 3-1 win over hapless Wolves.

Clare T & Julian F got the bore draw in the Potteries

Dave N somehow guessed Hamilton 0 Kilmarnock 2

Tony M got the “Desmond” that was Middlesbro v Man City

Francesca F just knew Chelsea would tan Everton 0-3

However, this week’s best correct score, and Best Correct Score of the Season, goes to Patricia Fernandez for her so-you-think-I-don’t-know-about-football-eh? inspired, Motherwell 2 Dundee 3.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We crashed! And burned! Spectacularly! Again!

45% WBA vs Leicester – nice celebration Jamie!

44% Bristol Rovers vs Millwall – soooooooooooooo close!

36% Hamilton vs Kilmarnock – all over in 23 minutes!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th…but there’s £8.29 on there still!

Table News:

Feel Good Inc.”: Two crashed the Top Ten and highest climber this week, up a whopping 17 places is Danny Ashworth – honourable mentions go to Rowan M (+6), Francesca F (+7), Simon B (+10), Dave N (+11), Ric P (+7) and James L (+6)

Glitter Freeze”: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 13 places is Richard Hughes – dishonourable mentions go to Jon T (-8), Predictz (-9), Mark F (-9), Danny N (-7), George T (-7), Paul V (-9) and Nick H (-7)

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2017/18 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… you’ll have to wait until at least the Premiership is over! Why? Cos it makes it exciting, that’s why….ha!

And Another Thing: Thank you very much for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon. September actually. Make a note as you’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders from August onwards…

One thing I will say about next season is that it will be REALLY special, so don’t be going all AWOL on me!

Special thanks to Dan & Dave once again for all their tireless work behind the scenes – they’ve made us amazing (well, bar my ubiquitous glitches obv…)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 12 round up!

comical…

Tell Me When My Light Turns Green“:  This speech is my recital, I think it’s very vital, To rock (A rhyme), that’s right (On time), It’s Tricky is the title, here we go….

Fourteen people managed to get over the 30 point mark in a difficult week this week, but that included Mr 2-0 and his lazy disciples (yep, all seven of them – shame on you…although it paid off this week innit!).

So, getting 35 points looked like you were quids in then – that’s where Paul V & Andy S were at.

But, what they didn’t bargain for were the late late goals for Aberdeen & Fleetwood giving Richard Hirst 37 (6) a two point push over the line to claim the £20 weekly prize!

The “syndicate” win again then in an amazing season for them – we must stop them people, they’re nicking our money!

There, There My Dear“: Getting 10 points or less in a bad week is still pretty shocking! Frankie F has gone all “Spursy” of late after threatening the best “Fernandez” finish for a decade (spare a thought for her though – that “backspin” for a grateful Thibaut Courtois in the last minute of the semi final? Frankie had 4-3 for that…) but a least she hit double figures!

Stephen P & Lee F only managed nine points.

Worse though was Mark J Brown 8 (0) – that Dubai heat getting to you son?!

Correct Score of the Week:

…most popular score was Sheff Wed’s 2-1 win over Derby – 32 of youse got that!

12 got the thrilling Brentford 3 QPR 1

Five got Blackpool 3 Cheltenham 0

5 got the bore draw between Wigan & Cardiff

Four somehow guessed Liverpool 1 Palace 2  (how?????)

4 got Bradford’s 3-0 demolition of the Wombles

Four made us all green by happening upon Bristol City 3-2 Barnsley

Richard H, James C & Danny N got Wolves 0 Blackburn 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

David G & Tony D got Toon’s thrashing of PNE

Matt W & Ricki M nailed Hibs 2 Aberdeen 3

Norman L believed in Burton. A 2-1 kinda belief…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Vinson for his love-a-last-minute-winner-me inspired, Gillingham 2 Fleetwood 3!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We crashed! And burned! Spectacularly! Again!

44% Swansea vs Stoke – Stoke to go down?

44% Huddersfield vs Fulham – Fulham to go up?

38% Bristol City vs Barnsley – ermmmmmm…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” avoid-at-all-costs slot 65th…

Table News:

Jackie Wilson Said (I’m In Heaven When You Smile)“: Jason Morris stays top and now goes a whopping 36 points ahead of Richard H who in turn is one points ahead of Charlie H in third…

The money & trophy are in the post Jason….

Pete B & Andy S crashed the Top Ten.

Burn It Down“: Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom and now eight points behind Patricia F who in turn is now 20 points off James C…

The wooden spoon is in the post Neil…

I’m Just Looking“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 15 places is Matt Worsfold – honourable mentions go to Paul V (+13), Ross B (+11), Mr 2-0 (+11), Anders H (+11) and Chris B (+11)

I Couldn’t Help If Tried“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 20 places is Mark J Brown – dishonourable mentions go to Debbie L (-10), Jon T (-11), Steve M (-12), Stephen P (-17) and Francesca F (-10)

We had –

speaking of which…

Jason had 3-1 on his Newcastle joker, saw Tony miss out on City…but then watched in horror as Mr D nailed a 4-1 correct score in the last game of the week to go through!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 11 round up!

“Champagne to the dancefloor!”

You’re The Sweetest One”:  Ahhhhhhhhh the 80’s…you went to football and if you came back unscathed it was result in itself. Great times.

Then when you went to “relax” with a few pints at the local nightclub later and dodging tables, chairs & half pint glasses was a breeze in comparison – or maybe that was just south London…

A few people revelled in those violent times and some even made money out of it – usually big f*ckers to be fair.

And all they did was stop you gaining entry cos you were in a group, had trainers on or looked about 12. Easy money eh?!

Oh, and they were usually draped in the “Poison” soaked ladies too – or maybe that was just south London…

Easy money this week then for my old mucker Howard Thomas 45 (7) who brushed aside his nearest threat by virtue of 10 while points. The other two who dared manage to get close on over 30 points were metaphorically dispatched head first through the double doors (mate). Job done.

Congrats Howie, £20 is winging it’s way over to you right now – promise!

But mess with me and i’ll be back with a shooter….

I Really Didn’t Mean It”: Lent is probably to blame for leaving players withered and weak through lack of chocolate as 35 of you couldn’t even break the 20 point barrier!

Four didn’t even get to fifteen points!

Rob C didn’t even get a correct score!

Neil Critchlow 13 (1) is no doubt face first in Tony Montana pile of Cadbury’s in a vain attempt to avoid humiliation next week….and if he isn’t, he should.

Correct Score of the Week:

Easter is rubbish innit…most popular score was Aberdeen’s 1-2 win at St Johnstone– 34 of youse got that!

Eight got the 3-1 Toffee win over Burnley

6 got Leicester’s “Desmond” with Palace

Howard T/Matt W/Andy F got the thrilling Huddersfield 3 PNE 2

Mark J B & Dan P were all over the south coast 0-3 to the Citizens

Paul V & James C somehow guessed Wigan 3 Barnsley 2

Neil T got the bore draw between Kilmarnock & Hearts

Will O made us all green by happening upon Stoke 3-1 Hull City

Martin S saw his typo come good on the game at White Hart Lane

However, this week’s best correct score, and new correct score of the season, goes to Dave Crisp for his we-are-mods-we-are-mods-we-are-we-are-we-are-mods inspired, Motherwell 4 Inverness C T 2!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We crashed! And burned! Spectacularly!

44% Dundee vs Hamilton – I don’t understand the Scottish Prem…

40% Man Utd vs Chelsea – I don’t understand the Prem…

39% Watford vs Swansea – I don’t understand Watford…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – shame.

Table News:

Never Too Much“: Jason Morris stays top and now goes a whopping 25 points ahead of Charlie H who in turn is eleven points ahead of Jack B in third…

It’s as sure as Arsene is gonna stay…

Andy C crashed the Top Ten.

I Wanted Your Love“: Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom and now seven points behind Patricia F who in turn is now 9 points off James C…

See Me“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 19 places is Paul Vinson – honourable mentions go to Dan P (+10), Danny N (+9), Pab (+8) and Howard T (+11)

I’ll Let You Slide“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping (? – is this some kind of record??) places are Paul Carter/Chris Dixon/Jon Tofeili – dishonourable mentions go to Bry D (-5), Gary B (-5), Sam A (-8), Jamie S (-6), George T (-6), Simon B (-5) and Rowan M (-5)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 10 round up!

“Don’t tell Pab, but I know how to change your scores…”

Big Balloon”:  Have much luck on the National? Nah, me neither. The nice little nest egg of betting funds got obliterated in the Scouse sunshine.

Oh well, maybe luck doesn’t come into it eh? Maybe it’s the knowing…

I certainly knew I was on a good week as five correct scores racked up on Saturday and 32 others joined me in that 30 point-plus nirvana this week.

Three went on and hit the heady heights of forty points-plus with Ryan G nudging Simon Lindq out the way courtesy of 7 correct scores to six.

But what’s this?

Someone with a mere 5 correct scores has jumped to the top by virtue of 1 point?

Was it a 91st minute St Johnstone goal in a 0-3 win that did it?

Or was it the 97th minute Nick Powell worldy that secured a massive 9 points for a 3-2 Wigan win?

Or could it be the fact he was one of only a few who thought Rangers would win at “11 in a row, 16 wins in 17” Aberdeen?

Maybe it was something darker…

Dave Nicklin 43 (5) wins this week’s £20 and faces the playground-esque “tunnel of death” to prove he didn’t forsake our upstanding reputation for fairplay.

I’m confident he’ll survive and cement his innocence, but me and the minions will take great pleasure “venting” our PAS frustrations…

Fragrant”: If you’re a Gooner, the days are dark right now.

We have to watch 11 snowflakes dissolve every week whilst the antiquated Svengali still thinks his time will come again & prove the haters wrong.

Picture then being a Gooner who got beat by a Palace fan that couldn’t even post a single correct score or got trounced by a Mr 2-0 who has quite clearly given up!

Seventeen bods got 20 points or less this week but Stuart Fitzsimon 14 (1) was the hapless soul propping us all up this week…

Correct Score of the Week:

Smashing week…most popular score was Brighton’s 1-2 win at QPR on Friday– 30 of youse got that!

21 got the dull-all at the Riverside

Twenty obviously guessed Fulham would beat Ipswich 3-1 cos everyone knows Ipswich draw 1-1 EVERY week…

20 more just knew Bournemouth would score against Chelsea for a 1-3

Thirteen got Man City’s 3-1 win over Hull City

8 made us all green by happening upon Celtic 3-1 Kilmarnock

Seven got Tottenham’s 4-0 deconstruction of the Hornets

6 were all over the 0-3 to Man Yoo

Dave N, Andy C & Dan H tinkered with the PAS timelapse cog in the back end and nabbed Inverness C T 0 St Johnstone 3 (what’s Andy C ever done for you chaps??!)

Dan H (again!) & Ben McK (hold on a minute…) got the 3 goal demolition of Preston by Dirty Leeds

Dave N (again!) & Julian F (i’m getting done over here!) got the thrilling Wigan 3 Rotherham 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Neil Critchlow for his I’ve-lost-all-interest-this-late-in-the-season inspired, WBA 0 Southampton 1!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We won! Again! We’re getting good at this aren’t we!

58% Middlesbro vs Burnley- the most nailed on 0-0 ever. Always loved that thug Lowton…

47% Hamilton vs Ross County – the only disappointing thing it wasn’t 0-0…..

45% WBA vs Southampton – damn that Fraser Forster!

So, £7.80 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – whoop whoop!

Table News:

Flexxin“: Jason Morris stays top and now goes 18 points ahead of Charlie H who in turn is sixteen points ahead of Richard Hi in third…

It’s a done deal…

Simon Lindq crashed the Top Ten.

Fester“: Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom but now only three points behind Patricia F who in turn is now only 4 points off James C…

Decided Knowledge“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 21 places is Dave Nicklin – honourable mentions go to Pete B (+12), Ross B (+11), Pab (+13) and Paul S (+13)

Slave To The Atypical Rhythm“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 14 places is Danny Norbury – dishonourable mentions go to Stuart F (-11), Gary B (-11), Mr 2-0 (-12), Danny A (-10) and Nick H (-12)

Money Love”:  A bit like blue crystal meth, you may drift in & out of fashion but you’ll always be what others are benchmarked against (yep, i’m watching Breaking Bad again…).

Well, the King has returned.

Seventeen people smashed in 30 points or more this week – 3 topped 40 or more.

Our £20 weekly winner may claim the St Johnstone in-fighting that contributed to Hamilton’s 89th winner or Barnsley’s Angus MacDonald equaliser in the 93rd minute were to thank for the prize.

Personally, my money is on the fact that he put ironic faith in Arsenal holding out at home to City for a “creditable” 2-2 draw…

Be upstanding.

All hail Jazz Sian 46 (8) as he syncs nicely with Sp*rs to hit form at the right time – grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Manchild”:  …and speaking of Sp*rs fans, Richard Hu dressed up in full Everton regalia to watch the Merseyside derby with his Scouse chums on Saturday lunchtime.

Y’know, top bantz n all that?

Well, it didn’t have the desired affect on the result, but it was obviously enough to off put & derail Koppite Alex Rossi 9 (0) as he crashed & burned like a David Moyes interview this week.

Y’know, top bantz n all that…

Correct Score of the Week:

Needles in haystacks this week…most popular score was Ipswich’s 1-1 draw with Birmingham (the gift that keeps giving gives again) – 31 of us got that!

Fourteen got the five point 2-2 at the Emir-, I mean, Ashburton Grove

4 got the bore draw between Swansea & Middlesbrough

Four more got the thrilling Liverpool 3 Everton 1

Predictz obviously guessed Burton would beat Huddersfield 0-1

Debbie L got the one-one in Glasgow. The wrong side of Glasgow…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Sam Arora for his it-was-always-gonna-be-an-even-game inspired, Man Utd 0 WBA 0!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We won! Again!

54% Wolves vs Cardiff – eh? where did that come from??!

54% Inverness vs Kilmarnock – the only disappointing thing it wasn’t 0-0…..

51% Ipswich vs Birmingham – absolute nailed on cert!

So, £8.29 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th – good-o!

Table News:

Buffalo Stance“: Jason Morris stays top and now goes 16 points ahead of Charlie H who in turn is eleven points ahead of Jack B in third…

Still looking like a done deal to me.

Jazz S & Francesca F crashed the Top Ten.

7 Seconds“: Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom but now only ten points behind Patricia F who in turn is 9 points off James C…

Out Of The Black“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 32 places is Tony Davenport – honourable mentions go to Jazz S (+20), Simon Lindq (+15), Arthur H (+14), Steve M (+18), Predictz (+14) and Anders H (+15)

Across The Water“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 20 places is Will Oppong – dishonourable mentions go to Clare T (-16), Me (-16), Stuart F (-14), Ross B (-13), Chris D (-13), Richard Hu (-17), Julian F (-13) and Andy F (-13)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 8 round up!

“So, Arsene has never finished below us eh?!”

A Night To Remember”:  I’ll cut to the chase people, its been a painful week! If you didn’t score 40 points or more, look away now, we should’ve taken the Mr 2-0 route.

How brutal is that??!

19 people hit the magical 40 plus points with ten of those surpassing the season high of 45 set by Jerry S – wow!

One went beyond…

So, thanks in main to the Lior Refaelov correct score busting goal for Israel, Simon Lindsay 51 (8) salvaged his season and nabbed the £20 for good measure.

Congrats mi amigo, let’s hope the Arsenal can take your lead in the weeks to come eh?!!

Dead Giveaway”:  If you had a bad week people, you had a really bad week!

Seven couldn’t even muster 25 points, one couldn’t even register twenty points…

Patricia Fernandez 18 (1) you need to have a word with yourself  – on Mother’s Day too!!! Tut, tut, tut.

Correct Score of the Week:

I really really hate International week…most popular score was Poland’s 1-2 win in Montenegro – 24 of youse got that!

21 got the very very annoying last minute spoiling Bosnia 5 Gibraltar 0 (grrrrrrr!)

Thirteen were all over the 0-3 to Macedonia

12 got the 1-3 Slovakia win over Malta

Nine nailed San Marino 0 Czech Republic 6

7 made us all verde by happening upon Portugal 3-0 Hungary

Six got the dull-all in Bucharest

5 got the 3-1 Bees win over Cheltenham

Five just knew Luxembourg would score against France for a 1-3

4 got Serbia’s 1-3 win over Georgia

Four got Sweden’s thrashing of Belarus

Julian F, Jason M & Richard H got the bore draw between Ireland & Wales

Richard H (again!), Simon Linds & Eddie O saw their typo come good on the game in Madrid

Pete B & Yours Truly got Cyprus 0 Estonia 0. We sobbed a little bit as we thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Jazz S & Matt W obviously guessed Germany would beat Azerbaijan 1-4

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Mark Seels for his let-the-haters-hate-i’m-back!-inspired, Andorra 0 Faroe Islands 0!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We lost once again.

53% Scunthorpe vs Bradford – ooooh close! Frankie had 3-3 down FYI…

49% Armenia vs Kazakhstan – a sending off and then disaster…

49% Romania vs Denmark – the only disappointing thing it wasn’t 0-0…..what? Oh…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 65th – not good…

Table News:

Take That To The Bank“: Jason Morris stays top and now goes 15 points ahead of Charlie H who in turn is now sixteen points ahead of Peter M in third…

Looks a done deal to me.

Richard H & Eddie O crashed the Top Ten.

There It Is“: Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom and now only five correct scores behind Patricia F who in turn is 10 points off Lee F…

I Can Make You Feel Good“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 25 places is David Goggin – honourable mentions go to Pete B (+16), Rich H (+20), Neil T (+14), Neil M (+14) and Simon Linds (+16)

I Owe You One“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 18 places were Debbie Lee & Ric Pardoe – dishonourable mentions go to Anders H (-11), Clare T (-12), Will O (-12), Neil O (-19), Ross B (-14), Arthur H (-12), Sam A (-11), Stephen P (-14) and Francesca Fernandez (-11)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 7 round up!

“Yes,Gazza…. Yes! Gak AND a chicken..”

Our Velocity”:

J.R Hartley.

Ever read his famous book? Don’t bother, it’s rubbish.

Remember Yellow Pages?

A time when you could actually remember about 15 phone numbers (yeah millennials, we really used our brains back then!) anyway and then you could access about a million more and make “prank” calls at 3am on a Sunday morning on the way home the “club”! Great times…

Do you know the dialling code for the UK?

Did you know if you times the last number of the Darlo dialling code by the 2nd last number, minus the 3rd number and then add the 2nd number you get 8?

Well you do. I did the math…

Spookily, Ben McKeown 44(8) was fly fishing this weekend, and whilst he didn’t hook a trout whilst wading amongst the shopping trolleys in the River Skerne, he did catch the £20 weekly prize.

No small thanks to the fact Dundee notched against Champions-elect Celtic…Jason M & Olly O no doubt stood on the bank throwing rocks in his swim as their 42 point haul was left floundering on the rocks…

Well done Benny boy – you can fund those TWO slap up meals you owe me & Chris D in Mrs Gregg’s flagship store next season now!

What Did We Do To You To Deserve This?”:

My mum rang me on Monday distraught she’d “had a ‘mare” by only recording a score of 19 (2). Imagine then if you scored under 13 points!

Can you imagine not getting a correct score as well??

Can you imagine how Mark Seels 11 (0) feels limping in bottom of the pile this week?

Can you imagine the grief he’ll get from “The Syndicate”?

Can you imagine the smug face Richard “Tricky” Hirst is pulling right now??!

Correct Score of the Week:

Well, I had a decent week, did you?…most popular score was Partick’s 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock– 27 of us got that!

7 got Forest’s “Desmond” with Derby

Six got the two-two in Blackburn. The wrong side of Blackburn…

6 got the dull-all at The Stadium of Light

Five got Rangers’ 4-0 deconstruction of Hamilton

4 just knew Boro would score against Man Yoo for a 1-3

Ben McK, Olly O & Stephen P got the 3-1 Cardiff win over Ipswich

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Dan Hogwood for his I-love-a-bit-of-injury-time-Rom-me inspired, Everton 4 Hull 0!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We won!!! Whaaaaaaaaaa-hoooooooo!

51% Kilmarnock vs Partick – 87th minute Conor Sammon goal seals the deal!

49% Leeds vs Brighton – Wood would wouldn’t he….spoiled a bumper payout there!

49% Inverness C T vs Ross County – 86th minute equaliser in the Highland derby seals the deal!

So, £7.67 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – at last!

Table News:

Apply Some Pressure“: Jason Morris stays top but now goes 10 points ahead of Charlie H who in turn is now eleven points ahead of Peter M in third…

No one crashed the Top Ten.

Going Missing“: Neil Critchlow stays rooted to the bottom and now ten points behind James C who in turn is 1 correct score off Patricia F…

I Want You To Stay“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 27 places is Olly Osmond – honourable mentions go to Rowan M (+13), Ric P (+12), Paul H (+12), Chris D (+15), Ben McK (+22) and Paul S (+12)

Risk To Exist“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 24 places is Stuart Fitzsimon – dishonourable mentions go to Mark S (-18), Predictz (-16), Alex R (-13), David G (-20), Richard H (-15) and Dan P (-14)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’17 Week 6 round up!

“Not heavy…”

Rich & Strange”:  It’s lovely when a long wait comes to an end –  New job? Tick! New baby? Tick! Team looking like they’ll finally be promoted? Tick(ish)! Get to see Batman Lego movie on the big screen? Tick! New lease of life on PAS after years in the doldrums flirting with the wooden spoon? Tick!

Actually the Batman one was a bit of a step backwards, but Julian Fernandez 45 (7) smashed in a bumper score to record the biggest weekly winning margin for years to secure the £20 prize – and that was without submitting a score for the Friday game!

Fourteen players slapped up 30 points plus tallies but JuJu still won the week by 10 whole points.

Basically Bournemouth’s 9 pointer sealed the deal…hmmmmm, wonder if he watched Football Focus like me and noted that the Cherries first Prem win was 4-3 v the Hammers and changed his 2-1 score accordingly?

Purple Love Balloon”: Blimey! Nineteen players lolloped home with less than 20 points this week which isn’t ideal now is it?

Two of them are on the PAS Board (hopefully that’ll put those time-lapse rumours to bed now!) and two of them were Lees.

Not Debbie though.

Rich tried his best to fail spectacularly, but feeling it more than everyone else this week was Norman Lee 12 (0).

Let’s hope he managed to avoid Lego Batman…

Correct Score of the Week:

Pretty hit and miss this week, tbf, a lot of hits though…most popular score was Man City’s 0-2 Cup win at Boro – 27 of youse got that!

12 got obviously guessed Arsenal would beat Lincoln 5-0 (I had it down as 10-2 fyi…)

Will O, Steve M & Predictz got the five point Barnet 2-2 Crawley

Kate S, Simon Linds & Chris D nailed Norwich 2 Blackburn 2

Paul V, James L & Richard H got the 3 goal demolition of WBA

Mark J B, Simon Lindq & Simon B got Brighton’s 3-0 deconstruction of Derby

Julian F, Andy F & moi believed in Eddie H. A 3-2 kinda belief…

Stuart F & Ross B got the dull-all at Elland Road

Danny A got PNE’s 3-0 win over Reading

David G was all over the four nil to Hearts over Hamilton

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Patricia Fernandez for her I-love-a-local-derby inspired, Newcastle Utd 1 Fulham 3!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 90 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

Jeez & peas….

51% Hull vs Swansea – the Portuguese boy comes good again

48% Burton vs Forest – how bad are Forest????! (“nearly as bad as the Arsenal!” – everybody)

45% PNE – Reading – eh???!!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – good Lord!

Table News:

Through The Roof“: Jason Morris moves up 1 place to go 3 points ahead of Peter M who in turn is one point ahead of Charlie H in third…

Only Andy F crashed the Top Ten. he’s like the Everton of the PAS…

Only (A Prawn In Whitby)“: Neil Critchlow slips one place to the bottom 2 correct scores behind James C who in turn is 1 point off Ricki M…

Magic“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 39 places is Julian Fernandez – honourable mentions go to James L (+16), Alex R (+10), Clare T (+11), Neil T (+10), David G (+11), Arthur H (+10) and Sam A (+11)

Oh No Won’t Do“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 22 places is Ricahrd Lee – dishonourable mentions go to Jerry S (-10), Danny A (-10), Rowan M (-13), Jazz S (-11), Scott H (-10), Simon Lindq (-10), Olly O (-17), Paul H (-14), John K (-15), Dave N (-10), Norman L (-20) and Dan H (-12)
