L13 Spring 2009 : Week 8 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from Week 7 winner Rob Hathorn – I’m on this!

My fivefold goes on Ireland, England, Portugal, Spain & Holland.

£5 on that should get us £36 back on Paddy Power. All eyes on The Irish pulling it out of the bag much like their rugger boys, the rest should take care of themselves…

Result: LOSE -£35.00

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 7 – Roundup…

Stevie Me:
Monster monster score in a quite average scoring week has paid dividends for Rob Hathorn 46 (8) winning him the weekly £20. Well done Roberto, QPR don’t need your money so you might want to spend it on a treat for Toon missus – she’ll need cheering up!
Stevie Wonder:
About time a Sp*rs supporter had something to cry about again – I can’t be doing with al this “top half” malarky going on at the moment – Gareth Morgan 8(0) you are very poor!
Correct Score of the Week:
It’s all about the stalemates again… Seven of us got THE MOST OBVIOUS 0-0 involving Sheff Wed and Swansea, 6 got 8 points from Hamilton and another 6 got 8 points from Hibs (nice!) – four others chipped in for a bonus by nailing Kilmarnock 0 Motherwell 0. Clare T got the nil nil between Ipswich & Watford and 10 intelligent people (including my daughter!) got Newcastle 1 Arsenal 3. No one got Liverpool though so this week’s Best Correct Score goes to Matt Worsfold for his Charlton 0 PNE 0
Bet of the Week:
Sean P did send over an acca but it had Rangers in it so it would have lost anyway! My replacement treble didn’t happen so we go into Week 8 £30 down – Rob H, give us an international winner please!

Table News:

I Kissed A Girl:
Jamie Tofeili takes over in top spot 5 points ahead of Jason M. A gifted young predictor hasn’t given up the chase in third…
UR So Gay:
He’s off the bottom! Will O now looks down at our Swedish representative Anders Hoglund via one whole point.
Hot..:
Highest climber this week is (surprise surprise!) Rob Hathorn up a huge 21 places to 8th. Honourable mentions for Jon A (+15) Danny A (+6) and Clare T (+6)
..N Cold:
Falling furthest this week is (surprise surprise!) Gareth Morgan down 11 places to 21st – dishonourable mentions for Sean P (-6), Mark S (-5) and Mark J B (-5)
Spot Prizers:
OK, if you finish on these positions at the end of Week 13, you WILL win these prizes! Jon A is on the promos at 11th(+15), Tony S is at 13th (+3), and Clare T is on 33rd (+6)
Other Stuff:
Be aware it’s international week for Week 8 and it carries on until Wednesday’s games!
And Another Thing:
Isn’t it nice to see Mr 2-0 struggling…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 7 BotW

…not had one from Sean P as yet so just in case, how about PNE/Wolves/Reading treble @ 13/1?

Get on it!

Result: LOSE -£30.00

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 6 – Roundup…

“You’ve Only Come To See Eb-ou-e”:
Very close in a relatively low scoring week but eventually Sean Peers 34 (5) came out on top to claim his second weekly win of the season. Well done Sean, another £20 just in time for Paddy’s Day – slainte!
“He Comes From Ser-bia…”:
From the ridiculous to the sublime back to the ridiculous in a matter of weeks, my ol’ mucker Dave Crisp 8 (0) has managed to evoke the memory of his “Weston”

Gareth M (obviously) got the lovely 1-2 reverse at Villa Park and Dave N & Jon T got a Geordie double of 8 points from West Ham 0 WBA 0. This week’s Best Correct Score of the Week goes to Julian Fernandez for his Arsenal 4 Blackburn 0.

Dave C’s acca was all wrong – we are now £25 down but now Sean P gets a chance to make amends for his Week 2 selections…

highest losing score:
Mark J Brown 39 (6)

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 5 Roundup…

Biz Lats:
From the ridiculous to the sublime in a matter of weeks, my ol’ mucker Dave Crisp 53 (8) has managed to banish the memory of his 4 points to whisk away the £20 prize. Well done Crispy, that’s a big prize in your hands…
Spook Street:
Mr 2-0 and his merry band of followers felt the pain this week – 16 (1). We like it when that happens!
Correct Score of the Week:
“ou est les zero-zeros…?” Ten got THE MOST OBVIOUS 0-0 at AFC Bournemouth, 6 got QPR 0 Sheff U 0 and Dave C got the eight pointer @ Rotherham v Brentford. 8 got the lovely little 4-0 at Leicester, 7 got the beautiful 3-0 at Arsenal and 4 of us unbelievably got the bonus points behemoth at The Valley. Gareth M got the Desmond @ Plymouth and Jon A got a spectacular 5-1 at Ibrox. And yet he still didn’t usurp his own Best Correct Score of the Week/Season because Neil Templeton somehow managed to predict St Mirren 1 Celtic 0. Amazing!
Bet of the Week:
Tony Smith went all sensible with a double and up pops Diego Forlan to scupper us & Real Madrid – £20.00 down now, looking to Mr Crisp to salt us out…

Table News:

Hi:
Dave Crisp jumps up 4 places and opens up a 10 point gap from Jason M in second – Jamie T now finds himself 14 points off the top…
Lo:
Will Oppong is still rooted to the bottom staring longingly up at Matt W 13 points above…

OK, if you finish on these positions at the end of Week 13, you WILL win these prizes! Sean P is on the promos at 11th(-8), Jazz S is at 13th (+13), and Ben H is on 33rd (-11)
PAS Cup:
Semi Finals are on 18/19 April – all guaranteed £25!
Other Stuff:
The blanket scoring and 0-0 mania seems to have calmed down this week – cool! We are making a ruling on 0-0 at the end of the season, so PLEASE complete the survey we sent round last week as we need your feedback and thoughts on this!
And Another Thing:
As of Week 6, my scores will be sent to a different individual each week rather than mailed “to all”… And if you’re wondering how a baby completes a scoresheet each week, she doesn’t, her mum/nan does it for her (but once she can hold and throw some dice we’ll be using that technique!)

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 5 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from PAS debutant weekly winner Tony Smith… you can tell he’s new, he’s being sensible!

I will have to go with a fairly dull footie double – Man United and Real Madrid win double!

Around 2/1 for that, so if it comes in we’ll be evens!

Result: LOSE -£20.00

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2009 : Week 4 – Roundup…

7-0:
We love it here when a debutant wins some money (mostly cos it’s a great marketing exercise… Guess what? I won some money putting down some footie scores! You should sign up for next season…), so well done to PAS virgin Tony Smith 35 (5) who walks away with £20 just edging out Shaun B.
0-0 again:
The nightmare scores continue – this week in the sub 10 points gang, are Rich Lee / David Goggin 7 (0)
Correct Score of the Week:
Sparse, very sparse pickings… Eight got THE MOST OBVIOUS 0-0 at Hibs (it wasn’t was it), 6 got M K Dons 2 Leicester 2 and 4 got THE EVEN MORE OBVIOUS 0-0 at the Emirates (grrrrrr!). No best correct score this week, but my little girl and Matt Gingell rustled up Bristol City 0 Blackpool 0 for a most welcome 8 points…
Bet of the Week:
John McSherry stepped up with a seemingly nailed on accumulator and got batted away early doors to leave us £15 in the hole…Tony S, you’re up next!

Table News:

Tip top:
Jamie Tofeili opens up a 9 point lead at the top from the tightly packed peloton below
Illin’:
Will Oppong remains bottom now only (ONLY!) 12 points from David G
Getting better:
Highest climber this week is Shaun Backhouse up 24 places to 10th. Honourable mentions for Tony S (+16), Francesca F (+16) and Mark Se (+14)
Coming down:
Falling furthest this week is Mark J Brown down 24 places to 31st – dishonourable mentions for Lisa G (-12), Jon A (-12), Danny A (-16) and Rich L (-10)
Spot Prizers:
OK, if you finish on these positions at the end of Week 13, you WILL win these prizes! John McS is on the promos at 11th(+4), Dan P is at 13th (-3), and Greg E is on 33rd (-9)
Other Stuff:
The 0-0 abuse continues unabated (we had to disqualify one player this week!) and there is an emergency board meeting tonight to discuss the best way to combat the problem…
And Another Thing:
It’s PAS Cup week this week as well as a normal league week – for players in both competitions, your scores will count for both (minus any bonus “joker” points for the League)

Cheers,
Pab
