PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 final table round up!

Final Table News:

“The Bomb”: It was one hell of a ding dong at the top for pretty much the whole season but it was a real dark horse that ultimately timed his run on the rails to perfection! He started way down in 65th, climbed to 28th, then back into mid table mediocrity until Week 6.

Once ensconced in the Top 20, he gradually went up to 13 – only to drop in Week 8 to the hellish depths of seventeenth! (God, imagine…57th was a dream for me!)

However, a recovery up to 10th was cemented and once he hit the Top 10 in Week 9 he stayed there!

Climbing to 6th, then 3rd before a slight blip down to 4th…and then –

Hats off & congrats to Danny Ashworth 314 (42) – you’re a winner!

Danny ended on a 3 point lead over another dark horse (with the same moniker) Dan Pelgrom in second place, (who, impressively,  wasn’t out the Top 11 after Week 3!) who in turn finished 5 points ahead of Nick Hogowood in third place. Another dark horse, who isn’t called Dan (but has a son who is), left it late to crash the Top 10 but hung in there from Week 9. A fine season for 2nd & 3rd as they are currently contesting the PAS Cup Final too…

Just two correct scores further behind, Tony Bowley & Pete Britton  couldn’t be separated right up to the end after a whole season of being side by side (usually in the Top 3) finishing in fourth spot with now perennial prize money botherer, Peter Morley scooping 6th place just another 3 points shy. A nice add to his PAS Cup semi-final appearance.

Old skooler Charlie Harris & syndicate topboy Jason Morris were another duo who couldn’t be split in 7th just another three points behind. A nice add for Jason too, after a PAS Cup semi-final appearance…

Only another three points behind, newcomer John King finished in ninth (a fine debut sir!) and another 1 point back, another newbie Lee Ford (another fine debut sir!) landed in 10th place netting the last of the “big prizes”courtesy of a measly 5 correct scores… *smiley face*

“Danger UXB”: You have to say even our champion couldn’t possibly be more happier then the rest of us to see  Mr 2-0 189 (11) rooted to the bottom 8 points adrift of the field. Our fictional foe takes the wooden spoon much to the relief of myself as it’s saved me having to “make” another wooden spoon…(you can’t give it to someone who doesn’t exist can you?! Can you?)

Anders H & Juian F made gallant efforts over the season to save Mr 2-0’s blushes but to no avail – good lads!

Spot Prizers: OK, YOU have finished on these positions and you HAVE won those prizes!

Scott Harrison on 11th, Dave Nicklin on 12th, Kate Hopper on 17th, Sam Craig on 25th, Savan Arora on 33rd, Predictz on 34th, Alex Taylor on 38th, Gary Blackburne on 49th, Shashi Arora on 60th, Debbie Lee on 67th, Moi on 78th, Sophie Bracegirdle on 80th & Julian Fernandez on 82nd.

*** all prize money will be winging its way over this weekend (less your PAS Euro ’16 entry fee) – promise! ***

And Another Thing: The other little bits…

Sam Craig picked up an additional £11 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season –  44(7)

Rich Lee picked up £8 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season – Chelsea 5 Man City 1.

PAS Euro 2016? Congratulations to Jamie Sellers for sneaking the last spot (rules, entry fee details & scoresheets coming soon!)

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N & Dan H for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch free!) season…check the new “feel” on the site! Apparently it’s absolutely mint now for mobile users…nope, me neither.

See you in June!

Cheers,
Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 Week 13 round up!

Everything In Its Right Place”: You can tell it’s the end of the season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in. Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into the spring sunshine (well, maybe not in MCR). Form goes out the window & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country. So how do you combat this perennial problem? Don’t ask me, I got the same as Mr 2-0 this week – grrrrr! (and I tried sooo hard!!!)

Maybe Neil Hyndeman 38 (7) can tell us how he came up on the blindside to slip the last £20 from Olly O’s hands? My money’s on the fact he knew that Mr Bony would hit the bar to keep a 2-2 scoreline at the Etihad…

Burn The Witch”: It’s the end of the season, there are crazy scores expected and the sun really was out with a vengance. Why bother doing your scores?

Mr 2-0 13 (1) is wondering just that. Even though he isn’t real and hasn’t got the cognitive skills to do such things…

Correct Score of the Week:

Not a bad effort people – most popular score was Nottm Forest’s 1-2 win at Franchise FC – 26 of youse got that!

Fourteen got Burnley’s nil – three away at Charlton

9 got the ding dong 2-2 between Citeh & The Arse

Eight got the tasty Leicester 3-1 win over hapless Everton.

7 somehow guessed Spurs 1 Southampton 2

Four got the, erm, 3-2 hammering meted out in Glasgow. The Tim bit of Glasgow.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Savan Arora for his two-in-a-row-is-trending inspired, Aston Villa 0 Newcastle 0.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 83 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

Get in! Don’t say this too loud but I think I now know how do this successfully next season…

51.52% Crystal Palace V Stoke – you’re meant to save this for Man Yoo Dwight!

48.48% Middlesbrough V Brighton – soooooooooooo obvious (except to me obv)

45.45% Preston NE V Leeds – 92nd minute Hugill goal. Thank you!

So, £8.91 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 80th.

Table News:

Currently sneaking the last spot is… you’ll have to wait until at least the Premership is over! Why? Cos it makes it exciting, that’s why….ha!

And Another Thing: Thankyou for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon. Very soon! Actually it will June (eek!) for the Euros and you’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’16 Week 12 round up!

Underdog”: If at first you don’t succeed – try, try, try doing it a bit different until you hit gold!

Well, this debutant has done exactly that this season and my, how it’s paid off – Richard Hughes 40 (6) was flailing with yours truly at the bottom of the table early in the season but has gradually dragged himself into respectable mid table obscurity with a doggedness that maybe only Leicester have recently demonstrated…

Congrats & £20 then to the poor man’s Josh Homme! You’re not so Sp*rs after all then are ya Dicky?!

Club Foot”: Pursuing a hat-trick of “Correct Score of the Week” accolades or mugging off your 10 year old son with Mr 2-0 scores really doesn’t do very much for you really. Don’t believe me? Just ask James Challinor & Rowan Marriott 12 (0) who share this week’s “Hall of Humiliation” membership…

Correct Score of the Week:

Not a bad effort people – most popular score was Nottm Forest’s 1-1 with Wolves – 26 of youse got that!

Seventeen got Celtic’s one – three away at the Jambos

14 got the ding dong 2-2 between Chelsea and Spurs

Chris D & Neil C came good with Barnsley 2-2 Colchester

Predictz & Tony M got the tasty Birmingham 2-2 draw with Middlesbro.

Simon Linds & Richard H somehow guessed Watford 3 Aston Villa 2

James L got the 3-0 hammering meted out in Brentford. I’ve already told you about Brentford…

Norman L owned Leeds 1 Charlton 2

Richard H got West Ham’s 0-3 tonking of West Brom

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Savan Arora for his I-need-9-points inspired, Ipswich 3 MK Dons 2.

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 83 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

Back to form i’m afraid –

45% Reading V Preston – 91st minute PNE winner did for us!

43.75% Stoke V Sunderland – Jermaine’s 94th minute equaliser did for us!

43.75% Hamilton V Kilmarnock – couldn’t have been more wrong really, Unless it was 0-5 of course…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 61st. *frowny face*

Table News:

Empire“: We have what Sky Sports would die for!

It will be last day drama as Pete Britton is joined by Tony Bowley at the top cos they can’t be separated by points or correct scores!

They in turn are just one point ahead of Jason M in third as the Top 7 all have a very realistic chance of winning the title…how exciting is that then?!

Scott H & Jon T crashed the Top Ten.

L.S.F.“: Anders Hoglund remains at the bottom only five points behind Julian F who in turn is 3 points off Mr 2-0 as the wooden spoon will be going to one of this tragic triptych

Fire“: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 24 places is Richard Hughes – honourable mentions go to Neil M (+12), Ben H (+16), Jazz S (+14) and Neil H (+14)

Where Did All The Love Go?“: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 17 places is James Challinor – dishonourable mentions go to Matt W (-10), Neil T (-14), Jack B (-12) and Jamie S (-12)
