PAS Cup & PAS Champions League Final results

Hola!

I’ll cut to the chase…

PAS Champions League Final 2021

Paul Carter 34 (5) – 32 (5) Tony Morris

Part One              28 (2)  – 24 (2)

Part Two              6 (3) – 8 (3)

Despite a spirited comeback, Tony succumbed to Paul Carter in the closest of finals!

So the Hammer of Oz has a lot to celebrate even if David Moyes does one to Everton! Bowling…

PAS Cup Final 2021

Neil Templeton 25 (4) – 50 (10) Jason Morris

Part One              19 (1)  – 30 (4)

Part Two                6 (3) – 20 (6)

Despite a much anticipated tight final between the two Mancunian Reds (well, one is from Belfast) it turned out blue for Neil…

Congratulations then to Jason for a comprehensive victory and, no doubt, a welcome distraction from the Yellow Submarine!

Thanks to all for another great season – see you next season!

Actually, make sure you get involved in the PAS Euro ’21  – the rules are here and the fixtures are live, now, here!

Cheers,

Pab

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 final table round up

“Outside”:

So, who won?

Well…a stalwart PASer who obviously took it upon himself to be less like his team this year – and my, how that decision has paid off!

He even had a mix of humility/temerity to let his machine-like weekly performances do the talking for him “on & off the pitch” by ACTUALLY getting involved in our What’s App group (erm, the rest of youse are all on that aren’t you?!)

It was a systematic, slowburn, calculated kinda season – where Man City recovered, ratcheted up & reeled in the title with certainty & consistency, our champion pretty much did just the same!

One newbie player kinda threatened to win it this season. The reigning champ hovered in & around…

And one bettered his correct scores tally.

But, to be fair, it sort’ve went to the final week…

Our “Spring” champ started in a mid-table place and basically built the whole season from there…

That 35th place in Week 1 was only one of two low points of a fabulous campaign. Week 2, it was up to 12th, then to the lowest ebb of 39th in Week 3 and for Week 4, a massive leap into the Top Ten at 6th.

And there he stayed with the next two weeks up to 5th & 4th respectively!

Next?

A jump to 2nd.

And so began a cat & mouse tussle for top spot. Weeks 7 & 8 were spent ensconced in that runner up spot, reaching the summit in Week 9, staying there for another week, before a wobble in Week 11going back down to 2nd.

Week 12 it was back on top, to then go on and claim his first title…

So, be upstanding lords, ladies & gents and doff your Stussy bucket hats to Charlie Harris 343 (48) – He. Is. A. Winner!

Alice Levine, Garry Birtles, Vicky McClure, Sleaford Mods, Jermaine Jenas, Samantha Morton, Jake Bugg, Shane Meadows (can you get him involved next season, Chas?!!)  & Rebecca Addlington, put your lace doilies down & let the Shipstone’s flow – yourn boy is a proper football fossneck! Whack that on a cob, mi duck!

Mr H won by a well measured 6 points from the gallant debutant, Pete Clarke, in second place.

Pete’s spent all but 2 weeks in the Top Ten and four top the pile! In any other season…

Anyway, at least he finished seven points ahead of the now deposed champ Danny Ashworth in third place. Imagine if he won it back to back???!

* shudders *

Ryan Graves was back from the dead only 1 point behind in 4th continuing his recent improved showings following last season’s disappointment of 33rd…

Another point further back, Lee Ford reflects on a fine season by finishing in fifth spot with Jack Buxton, after a reminder from his dad, just behind in 6th by virtue of 4 points.

In seventh heaven was the resurgent Peter Morley – a big upgrade on last season’s 20th…and way more profitable!

Continuing a rich seam of prize-winning form, Darrel Shannan scooped 8th place (and I managed to spell his name right too!), a correct score amount of points ahead of Cup Finalist Jason Morris in 9th (feeling light headed being the “Syndicate” top boy this year, Jase?!)

The staunch Red just edged out the staunch (light) Blue & perennial prize money botherer Pete Britton, by just 1 correct score, in 10th…

“Lockdown”:

A mere 1 point & 7 places separated our new champion from Patricia Fernandez 217 (25) in Week 1!

Actually, that’s worth thinking about…

My mum never really recovered from there either. Down to 49th, then to 67th, further down again to 97th, before a flurry of good form in Week 5 & 6 at 88th and 84th! Whooo!

A slip down to 93rd followed – then briefly up to 91st in Week 8.

And then she started on the slippery slope to secure yet another wooden spoon…93rd, 95th, 96th and finally bottom in Week 12, sealing her fate for the final week.

Mr 2-0, Dan H & Gary B made gallant efforts over the season to save Trisha’s blushes, but…

Spot Prizers

Latest score…

Tony Morris  4 (0) – 3 (0)  Paul Carter

Latest score…

Jason Morris 28 (7) – 9 (3) Neil Templeton

Jason Morris 8 (1) – 3 (0)  Neil Templeton – Part One

All to play for! I think..

PAS Euro 2021

Yep, all season I’d flagged this as Top 32 to qualify but I only realised in Week 13 that there’s only 24 teams in the Euros!

Duh.

So…

Congratulations to Paul Henshaw for sneaking the last spot (by 3 correct scores!) for entry to PAS Euro 2021.

The Top 24 have qualified and the big draw will take place really soon (with Frankie presenting a What’s App video thingy…)

This competition is still open to everyone but the Top 24 will have a team allocated to them and they will benefit from every goal that team scores adding a point to their tally…and a point for every round progressed!

Oh and it’s £10 all in. For everybody.

Oh.

And you really do want to get involved in this, as the Top 32 will qualify for…

PAS Champions League Group Stages 2021-22!!

Other little bits

Martin Stafford picked up an additional £10 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season in Week 7 –  62 (9)

Julian Fernandez picked up £5 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season by guessing – Derby County 3 Sheffield Wednesday 3.

Plaudits

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to play, we couldn’t do it without you!

And a final big thank you to Dave N Dan H for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great (relatively glitch free!) season…

See you in June and then September PASers.

Cheers, and enjoy a double dosed Covid-free summer!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 13 round up

Aguerrrrrrrrrrr-oh!

New Long Leg:

So the curtain comes down on yet another PAS season, and it was trying, right to the bitter end.

Can PAS continue to flourish and spread joy in such a harsh environment of unpredictability?

Well…

It was yet another unremarkable PAS week considering only 6 people managed 30 points or more!

Darren McC, Tony M & Darrel S went close but they couldn’t halt the two-step march to the top from Jason Morris & Matt Worsfold 34 (5)

Jason ironically has a Liverpool 90th minute goal to thank whilst the West Ham happiness continued although Matt may be rueing not putting in a prediction for the Friday night game…

Congrats lads, that’s £10 each…

You can give me that straight back for your PAS Euros entry fee!

Scratchcard Lanyard:

No doubt glad the season is now over are the 34 bods who couldn’t rustle up more than 20 points this week.

What a season eh?!

Five didn’t even get a correct score.

One didn’t into double figures.

Gareth Morgan 7 (0) gets to hold his hands up for the last “shame” of the season…

* blushing face emoji *

Correct Score of the Week:

Good work people…most popular score was Brentford’s 1-3 win at Bristol City– 19 of youse got that!

Eighteen were well away with the 1-3 away win for Man Utd

7 lapped up the last minute joy of Arsenal 3 WBA 1

Seven more just knew Luton would score against QPR for a 3-1

6 got Barnsley’s “Desmond” with Norwich City

Ben McK, Jason M & Rowan M doffed a cap to Salford’s 3-0 deconstruction of Leyton Orient

Darren McC, Simon B & Eddie O we’re so happy for the Reading 2-2 Huddersfield Town they will actually wear that skirt..

Julian F, Sam A & James C will shout out loud about the humbling of Spurs by Leeds Utd

Justin C nabbed the form book upsetting Portsmouth 0 Accrington Stanley 1

Danny A believed in Everton. A 0-1 kinda belief…

Lewis M said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his Oldham Athletic 0 Forest Green Rovers 3

However, this week’s best correct score, and Correct Score of the Season, goes to Julian Fernandez for his don’t-call-it-a-comeback inspired, Derby County 3 Sheffield Wednesday 3!

Bet of the Week:

Simon Lindquist was on “Bet of the Week” position 65th in Week 12 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

We won, but it could’ve been so much more…

“Well my current P-A-S season has pretty much mirrored Woking’s National League one . . . a decent start followed by an ignominious fall from grace that has seen both of us plummet down our respective tables!!
I’ve decided to go for a (hopefully safe) home wins treble . . .
First Leicester City to beat Newcastle Utd in the Friday evening Prem League fixture
Then Liverpool to beat Southampton in the Premiership on Saturday evening
I was going to go for 3 x Premiership games on sequential evenings . . . but Arsenal’s abject performance this evening . . . a game I’m sure you are still fuming over . . . and the fact that they couldn’t buy a goal at the moment . . . possibly even against an already relegated (by then) West Brom, has caused me to re-think the third selection . . . so I’m going for
Morecambe to beat Bradford on Saturday afternoon in League Two
So three homes:- Leicester, Liverpool and Morecambe”
No, yes and yes.
First rule of PAS Club is never…
Change your mind!

So, £1.51 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 65th – leaving it on £3.27 for the season…better than nowt!

Table News:

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 12 round up

Genius…

Desire:

It’s been a tough season, right? Let’s hope the pending returning crowds bring some semblance of order back to predicting scores…next season!

Only nine people managed 30 points or more this week, so, bravo youse!

Stephen P made extremely good (bizarre?) use of the resurgent Mr 2-0 by only actually predicting for 6 matches himself – one of which included Spurs 4-0 win over Sheff Utd!

Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough as a whole host of wasted open goal opportunities at Palace meant that Jason Morris 37 (6) secured those vital 4 points to take the £20 prize.

Surprised?

Why?

It’s May – of course there’s a Morris dance…

Don’t Beat The Girl Out Of My Boy:

Meanwhile, back in the world I usually inhabit, nearly half the field scored no more than twenty points.

Nine ended up without a correct score to their name – eek!

2 couldn’t get out of single figures – eek(er)!

Worst of the worst this week was James Challinor 7 (0)

Thanks for saving my mum’s blushes J!

Correct Score of the Week:

McBlimey…most popular score was West ‘Am’s 1-2 win at with Burnley– 25 of youse got that!

Twelve quite rightly predicted Tottenham’s 4-0 thrashing of Sheff U

4 got the dull-all at Hillsborough

Paul V & Angelo H thrilled at the thrilling Norwich 4 Reading 1

Debbie L nabbed the form book upsetting St Mirren 1 Hamilton Academicals 2

Danny A made us all green by happening upon Hibs 0-1 St Johnstone

Simon Linds got in on the Scottish Prem action with Dundee Utd 0 Ross County 2

Lee F just knew Southampton would score against Leicester for a 1-1

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Sam Arora for his 10-what-in-a-row? inspired, Rangers 4 Celtic 1!

Bet of the Week:

Jazz Sian was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 11 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Nah mate…

BTTS

Brentford v Watford = no!

Luton v Middlesbrough – yessss!

Stoke v QPR – no!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th taking & leaving it on, ahem, £0 – another one to avoid people!

Simon Lindquist is at 65th this week…

Mr L, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! Can we go out with a bang?

Table News:

Alpha:

Charlie Harris reclaims top spot with a week to go, a big 10 points ahead of Pete C in second, who in turn is three points ahead of Danny A…

One crashed the Top Ten.

Blackout:

Hunter:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 21 places is Stephen Peaston – honourable mentions go to Jason M (+19), Nick H (+19), Jerry S (+12), Olly O (+11), and Nick W (+11)

Chain:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places are James Challinor & Ben Hogwood – dishonourable mentions go to Pete H (-12), Darren McC (-12), Frankie F (-12), Dan W (-12), and John K (-11)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 11 round up

“Chat sh*t, get banged (with a pirate flag!)…” – Our work here at PAS Towers is done… you’re welcome!

Renegade Soundwave:

What a week for surprises eh?!

And in PAS too…

Most of us got suckered by what should have happened not actually happening, with only 1 astute punter managing to score over thirty points this week!

Martin S was looking good right up to his “Not A Super Sunday”

And, Stephen P may well rue missing the first 3 games this week…

That left the “Welcome To Thirty Plus Points!” door open for John King 33 (6) to rise up and claim the weekly £20.

He missed the Arsenal game on Friday <insert “greedy ESL scum gets comeuppance” gag here> but more than made up for it when that 92nd minute Villa equaliser hit the back of the net!

Bravo John – after celebrating, can you get on with your next novel please? It’s been toooo long fella!

Probably A Robbery:

Absolute howler for most of you this week – quelle surprise??

Over fifty (50!) players got 15 points or less, 8 got less than ten points and 7 poor souls didn’t even muster a correct score.

The person who crumbled most?

Tom Morley 8 (1), that’ll be you!

Correct Score of the Week:

Bleak…most popular score was Nottm Forest’s 1-1 draw with Stoke– 20 of youse got that!

Twelve just knew QPR would score against promoted Norwich for a 1-3

8 lapped up the injury time joy of Aston Villa 2 West Brom 2

Six banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Reading & Swansea

5 were grateful for the 3-1 Boro win over Sheff Wed

Danny A said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his  Arsenal 0 Everton 1

Stephen P landed on  the two-two in Edinburgh. The right side of Edinburgh…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Mark J Brown for his I-knew-this-was-gonna-happen-but-sod-BotW inspired, Kilmarnock 2 St Mirren 2!

Bet of the Week:

Mark J Brown was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 10 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He didn’t get back to us…

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd taking & leaving it on £8.19 – whoo!

Jazz Sian is at 45th this week…

J, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! Let’s put something on there, eh?!

Table News:

Space Gladiator:

Pete Clarke moves up one to top spot, 5 points ahead of Charlie H in second, who in turn is seventeen points ahead of reigning champ Danny A…

He couldn’t, could he?!

Three crashed the Top Ten.

The Phantom:

Gary Blackburne remains bottom, still two points behind Dan H, who in turn is 1 correct score off Mr 2-0…

Women Respond To Bass:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 20 places is John King – honourable mentions go to Darrel Shannan (+12), Martin S (+18), Paul V (+13), Kate S (+12), Stephen P (+19), Sam A (+11), and Eddie O (+10)

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places is Simon Lindquist – dishonourable mentions go to Lily T (-10), Rob C (-10), Nick W (-10), Steve M (-10), Richard H (-10), Ben McK (-10), Paul C (-10), and Tom M (-13)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 10 round up

“…and like my dreams they fade and die”

Do You Know The Way To San Jose:

I’m actually speechless and flat and very very saddened we’ve got to this place…but not surprised.

Anyway, congrats to Matthew Murphy 38 (7) winning £20 on a historic weekend…

Heartbreaker:

Mark Seels & Neil Osborne 10 (0), you were the worst of the lot this week. Chin up…

Correct Score of the Week:

Meh…most popular score was Burnley’s 3-1 defeat at Scab FC– 21 of youse got that!

Fifteen quite rightly predicted Hibee’s 0-4 thrashing of Stranraer

11 were grateful for the 3-1 Killy win over Montrose

Ten got Everton’s “Desmond” with Scab FC

5 got the dull-all at The Britannia

Four nailed Aberdeen 2 Livingston 2

Stephen P & Lewis M made us all green by happening upon Toon 3-2 West Ham

However, this week’s best correct score goes to no one as it-has-to-be-a-unique-one-to-get-your-name-here

Bet of the Week:

Sam Osmond was on “Bet of the Week” position 11th in Week 9 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Fail!
Sam’s playing it ‘safe’ this week with his bet of the week.  A home win triple of Arsenal (ho ho!), Man Utd (yo!) and Norwich (no!).

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th taking & leaving it on £0 – one to really avoid now!

Mark J Brown is at 33rd this week…

Markus, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! Try not to include any of them lot though eh?

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 9 round up

“She fell over!”

Johnny Cash:

It was a right ol’ ding dong for the Week 9 spoils, arguably as dramatic as the Grand National (do you win?!)! You really had to dig deep for your points this week, fully reflected in the fact that only 13 punters scored thirty or more.

Two of those went beyond, to the 40 point-plus mark and here’s where it really did go down to the wire!

On Saturday at around 5.35pm, Neil T looked set to cap a fine week of correct scores with predictions of Bournemouth and (the incoming) West Ham wins particularly notable. All good.

Then Luton staged their last 10 minute comeback at Wycombe…

Yep, that epic turnaround and a nine point Chelsea prediction was celebrated with the same girl jockey gusto by young Sam Osmond 46 (6) as those fourteen points nudged him to a weekly win over his Godfather! And, even more remarkably, he missed predictions for the Millwall and Watford games too…

Congrats Sam – that £20 is definitely not for betting with. Got that?!

Taste The Last Girl:

Quite a different story at the other end of the spectrum this week.

Forty players failed to score more than 20 points and 17 (seventeen!) couldn’t sniff out a correct score!

I did my best to thoroughly shame myself (it’s all about the Cup, right?!) in Week 9, but thankfully that accolade goes to Bijay Lama & Simon Lindquist 12 (0).

Thanks, chaps!  ; )

Correct Score of the Week:

Just, how?…most popular score was Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Villa– 23 of us got that!

Nine were well away with the 0-3 away win for Arsenal

8 landed on the two-two in Lincoln.

Six celebrated the bore draw between Huddersfield & Rotherham

4 just knew Spurs would score against Man U for a 1-3

Four more nailed Cardiff 2 Blackburn 2

Another 4 said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for their West Ham 3 Leicester 2

And another four thrilled at the thrilling Bournemouth 4 Coventry 1

Neil T & Kate S turned up Brighton 0 Everton 0. Then sobbed a little bit as they thought of those poor souls who actually tuned in to watch it.

Sams A & O got the 1-3 Hatters win over Wycombe

Sam C & Danny A banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Kilmarnock & Ross County

Andy F & Sam O (again) had Chelsea’s merciless 1-4 deconstruction of Palace

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his even-upside-down-my-score-is-correct inspired, Bristol City 0 Nottm Forest 0!

Bet of the Week:

Jazz Sian was on “Bet of the Week” position 65th in Week 8 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

We won!

Man City to win & BTTS – wait…what??!
Chelsea win – never in doubt
Liverpool win – took it to the wire…

So, £1.76 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 65th taking it to £1.76 – yay! (sort’ve)

Sam Osmond is at 11th this week…

Sam, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! But ask your dad first that it’s ok to, erm, “place” bets…

Table News:

Dance Me In:

Charlie Harris moves up one place to the top of the tree, 1 point ahead of Pete C in second, who in turn is eleven points ahead of Jack B…

Three crashed the Top Ten.

Gilt Complex:

Gary Blackburne slides two places to the bottom (ironically after escaping the clutches of Mr 2-0), two points behind Dan H, who in turn is 3 points off Mr 2-0…

This Gift:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 36 places is Sam Osmond – honourable mentions go to Gareth M (+21), Jamie S (+15), Francesca F (+19), Rich L (+17), Dave C (+15), and Sam C (+17)

Split Lips:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places is John Jennings – dishonourable mentions go to Pab (-13), Simon Lindq (-15), Nick H (-15), and Matthew M (-14)

Refs are redundant now aren’t they.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 8 round up

CR7 strikes again…

Stealing Gold:

After the points-fest on International Week last week, it went from the subl ridiculous to the ridiculous!

It was all very much Week 1 actually…

A third of the league could have won it in a week that saw only nine players get 25 points or more.

John J put up a spirited scrap for the weekly honour but was ultimately brushed aside by the majestic Barnsley correct score double that secured Darrel Shannan 28 (5) the £20 prize!

Well done D, despite the lowly total, that is an impressive victory!

Slow Motion:

So at the other end of proceedings, sixteen people couldn’t manage to get to 15 points and 8 of them didn’t record a correct score.

Two were unable to struggle up to double-digit points but new dad Alex Taylor 8 (0) no doubt has a bonafide excuse!

Correct Score of the Week:

Painful at best…most popular score was Luton’s 1-2 defeat to Barnsley– 25 of us got that!

Ten had Bournemouth’s 3-1 win over Stoke

Stephen P & Martin S celebrated the bore draw between Orient & Walsall

Bry D & Reagon K got the 3 goal demolition of Coventry by QPR

Simon Linds & Rowan M saw their typo come good on the 2-3 game at Wolves

Neil T believed in Palace. A 1-1 kinda belief…

Neil M nabbed the form book upsetting Birmingham 1 Swansea 0

Hira Y was grateful for the 3-1 Villians win over The Cottagers

However, this week’s best correct score goes to John Jennings for his I-know-a-comeback-when-I-see-one inspired, Southampton 3 Burnley 2!

Bet of the Week:

Chris Dixon was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Bombed…

“Three team treble selection from me, Pab:”

– Swansea City to beat Birmingham City – pfffttt!
– Sunderland to beat Peterborough United – pfffttt!
– Leeds United to beat Sheffield United – boom!!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th leaving it on £0 – erm…

The King is at 65th this week…

Jazz, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! Let’s get it going…

Table News:

Mission Desire:

Pete Clarke stays top of the shop, 10 points ahead of Charlie H in second, who in turn is three points ahead of Jack B…

One crashed the Top Ten.

Don’t Take My Soul:

Dan Hogwood is still bottom, three points behind Mr 2-0, who in turn is 3 points off Gary B… I can see a pattern forming.

Arrows:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping(?) 18 places is John Jennings – honourable mentions go to Lee F (+16), Mark J B (+15), Karina H (+12) and Li’l Lily T (+12)

Loops In The Secret Society:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping(?) 18 places is Simon Lindquist – dishonourable mentions go to Paul C (-15), Dave C (-14), George T (-14), and Neil O (-14)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 7 round up

Yes, I know Ronnie, I effing know…

Mad World:

What. Can. I. Say…?

Scored 30 points this week? I’m afraid you’re a failure given the rich pickings available to pick up in yet another divisive, exciting, unbelievable International Week!

Thirty players scored 40 (FORTY) points or more this week, 9 got 50 (FIFTY!) or more, and an elite foursome notched up a mighty impressive 60 (SIXTY!!!) points plus!

Take a boo son(s).

It was a scrap right to the finish as the PAS record of 67 points was under serious threat from all sides. Dave C & Pete B were thwarted at sixty points, newbie Pete C must be wondering what all the fuss is about as he just fell short of a weekly win on 61 points.

Pete C went toe-to-toe with Martin Stafford 62 (9) from the 11 pointer that was Holland in Gibraltar, right through to Spain v Kosovo – pegging back Martin’s Wales correct score with an Italian one, only to see a Scotland 8 pointer put him to the sword, and gifting the £20 Wigan way…

Well done M, still anti-International week?!

Mother’s Talk:

6 (SIX!!) punters scored 20 points or less.

But they all got a correct score.

Only Ric P didn’t, and he finished on 23 points. Weird, non?

Patricia F would’ve been bottom of the pile but Dan H, Gary B and Andy S all foolishly followed Mr 2-0 15 (1) into International oblivion…

Sacre bleu!

Correct Score of the Week:

Bumper to bumper…most popular score was Scotland’s 1-1 draw in Israel– 38 of youse got that!

Thirty (30!) got Germany 3 Iceland 0

16 doffed a cap to Poland’s 3-0 deconstruction of Andorra

Another sixteen quite rightly predicted England’s 5-0 thrashing of San Marino (thanks to Billy The Fish in nets)

13 said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for their Gibraltar 0 Holland 7 (whilst not noticing the other 12…)

Twelve were all over the 0-3 Kosovo v Sweden

10 made us all green by happening upon Scotland 4-0 Faroe Islands

Eight were grateful for the 3-1 Spanish win over Kosovo

5 just knew Luxembourg would score against La Selecao for a 1-3

Four got the dull-all at Windsor Park

Four more got the very annoying, outrageous last minute spoiling Serbia 2 Portugal 2

Neil M, Karina H & Samantha P got Scotland’s “Desmond” with Austria

Howard T, Chris D & Dan W got the very annoying last minute spoiling Blackpool 2 Plymouth 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to…no one, as it-can-only-be-a-unique-scoreline!

Bet of the Week:

John Jennings was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 6 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He won!

Belgium v Czech Rep – thumbs down
Netherlands v Latvia – thumbs up!
Croatia v Cyprus – thumbs up!

So, £0.87 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd taking it to £5.19 – it’s a slow burn…

Chris Dixon is at 45th this week…

Ant/Dec, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! Let’s keep the momentum going…

Table News:

Head Over Heels:

Pete Clarke climbs seven places to go top in his first season, 13 points ahead of Charlie H in second, who in turn is one point ahead of Ben H…

Three crashed the Top Ten.

Johnny Panic & The Bible Of Dreams:

Dan Hogwood is taking one for the PAS PR team, slipping one to the bottom slot, three points behind Mr 2-0, who in turn is 3 points off Gary B…

Pale Shelter:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 53 places is Martin Stafford – honourable mentions go to Pete B (+46), Dave C (+42), David G (+38) and Darrel S (+30)

Change:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 31 places is Andy Smith – dishonourable mentions go to Jerry S (-29), Paul S (-27), Eddie O (-25), and Matthew M (-23)

PAS Champions League Knockout Stages 2020/21:

The semi final draw was “live & exclusive” on the What’s App group (you really should get involved if you’re not already…)

Mark Seels takes on Tony Morris

So, we were denied the chance of an all “Syndicate” final..wonder if they would’ve fixed that?!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’21 Week 6 round up

Imagine having the chance to capture a West Ham fan “mid-gloat” as the third 1st half goal went in…

Great DJ:

In a week that saw Frankie F blaze out the traps like the aforementioned West Ham, it took a Super Sunday comeback to secure this week’s £20 weekly prize.

Only 3 punters made it past thirty points this week (only 8 made it past 25!) – one of them, Frankie, dropped off dramatically on Sunday only adding 6 more points.

Alex R looked good to go on Saturday too, but only managed five more points after that.

So our winner only actually predicted for 29 games –  but still managed to amass a bumper 15 points on the Day of Rest.

Congrats to Bijay Lama 43 (9) then – no doubt he’ll be lighting up the What’s App group and shining a light on his less eminent buddies to boot!

And why not eh, B?! It’s good to gloat…

That’s Not My Name:

It’s becoming apparent that consistency in football is like truisms from politicians – sporadic at best, short-lived, misleading & consigned to a long last past where we had jumpers for goa…blah blah blah

30 people scored no more than 15 points in another coupon-busting round of fixtures.

Six of whom managed zero correct scores.

Two didn’t even get to double-figure points.

Sam Craig 6 (0) saved Paul V’s blushes this week…

Correct Score of the Week:

We’re having to work for it this season …most popular score was Stoke’s 1-0 defeat of Derby County– 24 of us got that!

Twenty one got Watford 3 Birmingham 0

Alex R, James C & Reagon K got the dull-all at St Andrew’s

Julian F, David G & Andy S just knew Toon wouldn’t score against Brighton for a 3-0

Francesca F & Rob C nabbed the form book upsetting Barnsley 1 Sheff Wed 2

Norman L somehow stumbled on Bristol City 0 Rotherham 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Sam Arora for his welcome-back-Harry inspired, Leicester 3 Man Utd 1!

Bet of the Week:

Paul Henshaw was on “Bet of the Week” position 11th in Week 5 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He followed the lead of the previous “syndicate” member up here last week…

Barnsley – whaaaat?!
Brentford – duh!
Norwich – oooof!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th – rubbish!

John Jennings is at 33rd this week…

JJ, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! We need a winner to buck a worrying trend!

Table News:

Be The One:

Bijay Lama climbs thirteen places to the summit, 6 points ahead of Simon B in second, who in turn is one point ahead of Ben H…

Three crashed the Top Ten.

We Started Nothing:

Howard Thomas is still bottom, four points behind Dan H, who in turn is 1 point off Dave C…

Fruit Machine:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 40 places is Alex Rossi – honourable mentions go to Frankie F (+24), Predictz (+20), and Mark J B (+22)

We Walk:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 27 places is Sam Craig – dishonourable mentions go to Matt W (-21), Harry H (-22), Scott H (-20), Paul W (-20), and Olly O (-21)
