PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 9 round up

“Take a bow, Aaron…”

Blessa:

If I told you Mr 2-0 nearly won this week, you’d despair, right?

If I told you 2/3 of the PAS Board nearly won, you’d laugh, right?

If I told you a Swede who forgot to do his scores nearly won, you’d give up, right?

If I told you last week’s winner nearly won again, you’d cry “fix!”, right?

If I told you a relative newcomer with previous mid-table PAS credentials nearly won, you’d kinda hope it was you, right?

Well, what about if I told you a kid who finished bottom last week turned the ridiculous into the sublime and won? You’d clap, right?

Well Luke Stafford 43 (7) did just that, but you may mute the applause when you hear that of the 21 games he didn’t submit a prediction for, he picked up 4 correct scores! And of the eight games he DID predict, he scooped a 3-0 and that 4-0!

Bravo Luka, the £20 is on it’s way! You obviously took my advice on doing your homework last week eh??! (I’m taking a 50% consultancy fee…)

Run Baby Run:

I’m just gonna tell you i’m sick of this game…

But not as sick as the 14 punters who didn’t break the 15 point barrier this week.

Or the 3 who didn’t register a correct score.

Or, indeed, Rowan Marriott & Dan Wayman 9 (0) who brought up the rear as the only ones not to get to double figures.

Chin up, chaps!

Correct Score of the Week:

Mate…most popular score was ‘Wall’s 1-1 draw at Boro– 27 of us got that!

Twenty doffed a cap to Citeh’s 3-0 deconstruction of Everton

6 somehow stumbled on Fulham 4 Barnsley 1 (how????)

David G, Predictz & Mike K celebrated the bore draw between Sheff U & Cov

Mike K (again!) & Luke S will shout out loud about the humbling of Arsenal by Liverpool

However, this week’s best correct score goes to nobody cos-there-wasn’t-any-unique-correct-score inspiration…!

Bet of the Week:

Dan Clarke was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 8, so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He gave us what we want & went leftfield…

“With everything crossed that this is more like week 5 than any other week, I would like you to put our money on –

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (nope)
South Africa to beat England (Twickenham,.not some random baseball match or World series cribbage…) (nearly)
AFC Bournemouth to win at Derby County (unbelievable)”

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd, leaving it on £0  – bah.

Richard Hirst  is at 83rd this week….

Tricky, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please!

Can you get us a “full house”?! Or half a house at least?

Table News:

What You Want:

Matthew Murphy jumps to the top of the pile, 2 points ahead of Jack B, who in turn is eight points in front of Chris D

Two crashed the Top Ten.

Causers Of This:

Simon Turnbull now anchors the league, six points behind Dan W, who in turn is 2 correct scores adrift of, ahem, me

Ordinary Pleasure:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 24 places is Mr 2-0 – honourable mentions go to Luke S (+20), Anders H (+19), Rob C (+18), Simon Linds (+16), Dan H (+16), and Dave N (+16)

Fading:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 18 places is Rowan Marriott  – dishonourable mentions go to Julian F (-11), Gary B (-16), George T (-13), Frankie F (-16), and Paul V (-11)

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 8 round up

“Don’t worry Ronnie, I still love you and this is only like Paris 2016 with that moth (except there’s no moth) and look what happened then! Yes, we do it the hard way. We’ll nick through in the last minute of the 2nd leg play off and then go into the obligatory “Grupo de Morte”…but then we’ll win it! Won’t we! Won’t we?”

Sunflower:

Did you get the benefit of VAR in San Marino?

Most people didn’t get enough of them tbf.

Lily T did.

Unfortunately for Lily (and another 13 players), a(nother) monster score in Paris put pay to them winning the weekly prize…

Those great eight (goals) meant our friend across the Pond, Mike Krasnowski 46 (3) ensured his two point lead over the desperately unlucky Matthew M as he (ice)skated away with a most audacious of wins for the £20 – some of Canada won’t be dry this week!

A Punk:

You know it’s dark days & some of your good pals must be wallowing in the doldrums when you receive a message reading “PAS is making me feel ill…”.

Well, fifteen punters failed to get a correct score this week and Luke Stafford 13 (0) must have looked like one of them puking emoji thingys this week as he trawled in last this week.

Get back to doing your homework Luka!

Correct Score of the Week:

I know, right!…most popular score was Scotland’s 0-2 win in Moldova– 24 of youse got that!

Eleven will shout out loud about the 8 goal humbling of Gibraltar by Turkey

9 just knew Luxembourg wouldn’t score against Ireland for a 0-3

Six quite rightly predicted England’s 5-0 thrashing of Albania

5 were grateful for the 3-1 Belgian win over Estonia

Howard T, Julian F & Samantha R were well away with the 1-3 away win at Walsall for Harrogate

Matt W & Dave C got the 1-3 Luxembourg win over Azerbaijan

Jazz S & Stuart F somehow stumbled on Armenia 1 Germany 4

Mike K & Lily T thrilled at the thrilling San Marino 0 England 10 (TEN)

Stuart F (again!) had Denmark’s 3-1 win over Horrible Whale Killers

Hira Y got the dull-all at Portman Road

Simon Linds was all over the 1-4 to Poland in Andorra

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Best Correct Score Of The Season, goes to Mike Krasnowski (again!) for his go-big-or-go-home inspired, France 8 Kazakhstan 0!

Bet of the Week:

Andy Fowler was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7, so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He went big…

“Alright son!

My triple prediction
Ipswich v Oxford – draw (yes!)
Wycombe v Portsmouth- Wycombe win (no!)
Tranmere v Sutton – Tranmere Win (no!)
Up the Toffees…”

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th, leaving it on £0  – hmmppphh…

Dan Clarke  is at 33rd this week….

Dan, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please!

Can you get us a “full house”?!

Table News:

Mansard Roof:

Jack Buxton stays top, 7 points ahead of Chris D, who in turn is one point in front of Simon B

Three crashed the Top Ten.

Walcott:

Predictz stays rooted to the bottom, now only two points behind Patricia F, who in turn is 4 points adrift of Robert H

Harmony Hall:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 22 places is Mike Krasnowski – honourable mentions go to Danny A (+21), Sam A (+19), Neil O (+18), Stuart F (+18), and David G (+17)

Oxford Comma:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 14 places is Luke Stafford  – dishonourable mentions go to Jamie S (-13), Sam O (-13), Greg F (-12), Scott H (-11), Neil T (-11) and Paul H (-11)

PAS Champions League Knockout Stages 2021/22:

Matchday 4 Group games went ahead this week…

It. Was. Interesting.

We had 13 successful jokers! 1 really successful joker! 4 hammerings! 1 heartbreaker! 5 close games! And, 8 away wins!

One won their game with 22 points & 1 lost theirs with 36 points!

Getting really real now…but Olly O, Kate S & Samantha R can breathe easy!

Matchday 6 – Week 12

Full fixtures & results can be found here

PAS Cup 2022:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2022 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is the John Taylor of Beckenham…Ryan Graves!

The gift that keeps on giving…

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 7 round up

“Farke off!”

Bob’s Yer Uncle:

Did you find, literally from the off this week, you were left reeling as score after score filtered throuhg in the polar opposite to what you predicted?

You did, didn’t you??!

In a week where only 7 players managed 25(!) points or more, six of them all had valid claims on the top spot as it came down to a correct score tally difference.

However, when it comes to actually winning, never write off a sleeping giant!

Especially one of PAS royalty!

Our all time PAS top earner friend from the Lane, Jazz Sian 30 (4) cut a swathe through the bleak week and pillaged the £20 weekly prize courtesy of two last minute goals in the Championship!

King J, tip your crown to Messrs Moore of Cardiff and Godden of Cov…

Hail!

Mad Cyril:

Guess what?! I had a decent week – which can only spell bad news for those other bottom dwellers!

Forty (40!) people couldn’t muster more than 15 points this week with 18 unable to nail down a correct score…

But our current league leader started to crack under the pressure –

Jack Buxton 9 (0) it was only you in single figures this week…

Correct Score of the Week:

Another harsh week…most popular score was Blackpool’s 1-1 draw with QPR– 17 of youse got that!

Ten secretly had their prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate of The Saints in Perth

Darren McC, Greg F & Samantha R somehow stumbled on West Ham 3 Liverpool 2 (how????!)

Howard T & Lily T got the dull-all at Goodison

George T & Eddie O were grateful for the 3-1 Blackburn win over Sheff U

Dan C & El Presidente lapped up the injury time joy of Coventry 3 Bristol City 2

Frankie F believed in Arsenal. A 1-0 kinda belief…

Sam O was well away with the 1-2 away win for Reading

Pete H got the 0-2 Motherwell win over Aberdeen

John J made us all green by happening upon Chelsea 1-1 Burnley

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Best Correct Score Of The Season, goes to Robert Howarth for his I’m-having-my-cake-and-eating-it-too inspired, Dundee 2 Celtic 4!

Bet of the Week:

Neil Templeton was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 6, so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He played (very) “safe” – and won (sort’ve)

“Unfortunately the baseball season is over but my team – Atlanta Braves – won the World Series so not all bad news. Bit like Leicester winning the Premier League.

Anyway, closer to home: Irish League action
To win (keeping it simple in light of recent failures)”
Cliftonville – easy
Glentoran – just…
Linfield – nope!

So, £1.13 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th, taking it to £3.08  – steady…

Andy Fowler is at 45th this week….

Andy la, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please!

Can you get us a “full house”?

Table News:

Wrote For Luck:

Jack Buxton stays top, but now only 6 points ahead of Simon B, who in turn is three points in front of Chris D

Two crashed the Top Ten.

Lazyitis:

Predictz stays rooted to the bottom, eleven points behind Alex T, who in turn is 1 point adrift of Moi…(whoop whoop!)

Hallelujah:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 23 places is Neil Templeton – honourable mentions go to Jazz S (+12), Dan C (+15), Gary B (+18), Julian F (+11), and Greg F (+16)

Loose Fit:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping(?!) 12 places are Andy Chesworth & Pete Clarke  – dishonourable mentions go to Hira Y (-10), Olly O (-11), Richard H (-10), and Danny A (-11)

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 6 round up

“Boo!”

You Made Me Realise:

Shall we just call the whole thing off?

Now?

Football is ridiculous.

Newcastle have all the money in the world – but can’t find anyone to spend it, Liverpool made bookies around the world more money in a day than ever before, Sky Sports think Spurs are still “great” cos they’ve got a new stadium and Paddy “out Pepped” Pep!

So putting perfectly logical results down appears to be futile.

What can you do?

Yep, you can guess the rest (see below)…in a brutal week only FOUR players managed to get north of 30 points!

John J & Matthew M ran close and birthday boy Julian F went even closer.

However, Reagon Karki 36 (6) somehow magicked a decent winning tally and won the weekly prize thanks to Wolves’ 2-1 victory over Everton on Monday (I like to think it was his “trust in the process” on Saturday lunchtime personally…)

Congrats Reagon, £20 winging its way to you sir – bravo!

Only Shallow:

It was grim up north…and everywhere else this week.

Unbelievably, over 50% of the field couldn’t amass more than 15 points this week – proper shocker!

Ten drew a correct score blank.

Four lapsed into a single digit return.

Worst in the worst week?

Our reigning champ Charlie Harris 6 (0) really has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Ouch!

Correct Score of the Week:

I’m not playing anymore…most popular score was Leeds Utd’s 1-2 win at Norwich City– 24 of youse got that!

Thirteen were all over the 0-3 to Chelsea

8 doffed a cap to Swansea’s 3-0 deconstruction of Peterborough

Darren McC & Dan W got Fulham’s 3 goal demolition of WBA

Dan W (again!) just knew Spurs wouldn’t score against Man Utd for a 0-3

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Reagon Karki for his I-bet-this-will-be-a-bright-light-in-Pab’s-bleak-week inspired, Leicester 0 Arsenal 2!

Bet of the Week:

Dave Nicklin was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 5, so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He played “safe” – but yet another blank!

3 wins

Liverpool (v Brighton) – say what?!

Spurs (v Man Utd)  – bye Nuno!

(Newcastle v) Chelsea – yes, but come back Brucie?!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd, leaving it on £6.15  – booooo!

Neil Templeton is at 60th this week….

Neilster, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please!

An Irish Premiership spesh? Rugger? Baseball??

Can you get us back on track?! Please? Pretty please?!!

Table News:

Glider:

Jack Buxton stays top, and now a big family sized 17 points ahead of Simon B, who in turn is three points in front of Chris D

Two crashed the Top Ten.

When You Sleep:

Predictz (not even a real player) drops 3 places to the basement, one point behind Moi (oh, the shame – I feel like Cersei in that GoT episode…) who in turn is 2 points adrift of Robert H

Soon:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping(?) 26 places are Pete Clarke & Justin Corliss – honourable mentions go to John J (+24), Joanne McK (+21), Reagon K (+20), and Sam A (+20)

To Here Knows When:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 22 places is Charlie Harris  – dishonourable mentions go to Norman L (-14), Anders H (-14), Rowan M (-12), Mark J B (-12), and Nick H (-11)

One won their game with 11 points & 1 lost theirs with 20 points!
