PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 4 round up

 “Seven! (97′)”

M.E.:

Nine bods notched 30 points or more and there was a proper bun fight for top spot with 4 contesting the spoils of the week.

Suman K is probably regretting putting St Mirren to beat Celtic and Reagon K nearly went from “zero” to “hero” only to be let down by Everton & Fulham at the death…

So, you’d think nailing the frankly outrageous 3-2 west London derby win for Brentford would deffo seal a weekly win…

Well, you would wouldn’t you?

Unfortunately not this time.

A GNeville-esque gaff of missing the Friday night/Saturday morning predicting action actually produced 3 correct scores from 4 games as Dan Clarke 35 (5) exploited the “on-trend” Mr 2-0 to take the £20 prize!

If it’s any consolation to the rest of us, he had an agonising 9 minute wait hoping Celtic didn’t score again against 10 men St Mirren…

You’re right, it’s all the more galling isn’t it.

Everyday I Die:

If your name is Tony & you’re Yanited through &  through (have you noticed that the “&” is on the same key as “7”?!) you may want to run and hide.

Seventeen got less than 15 points in a pretty dire week with fifteen not even getting a correct score.

But propping up the rest was Tony Morris 10 (0)

“Sit here, shut up and listen to Dan C celebrating…”

Correct Score of the Week:

Didn’t you do well…most popular score was Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Dirty Leeds – 18 of youse got that!

Seven were well away with the 1-3 away win for Aberdeen at Dundee Utd

6 made us all green by happening upon Hearts 3-0 St Johnstone

Five(!) thrilled at the thrilling Brentford 3 Fulham 2

4 nabbed the form book upsetting Morecambe 0 Bolton 0

Four more were grateful for the 3-1 Rangers win over Kilmarnock

Martin S, Predictz & Lisa W thanked the Lord for PNE discovering their stalemate credentials at Watford

Rowan M & John K  celebrated like Walsall at Highbury in ’83 after that 3-2 at The Emirates in ’23

Reagon K snaffled up the 5 points served up by the nil-nil at Blackpool

Jasper M said “Look at me! Yes! Me!” for his Brighton 4 West Ham 0

However, this week’s best correct score, and new Correct Score of the Season, goes to Dan Clarke for his Ivan-Toney-gave-me-the-nod inspired, St Mirren 1 Celtic 5!

Bet of the Week:

Pete Clarke was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Oooops…

Middlesbrough – wham!
Sunderland – damn!
Tranmere – oh, man…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – this isn’t going well, is it?

Sam Osmond is at 33rd this week….

Little Sam, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please! (ask your Dad first!)

We NEED a winner though…

No pressure son!

Table News:

The Joy Circuit:

Five crashed the Top Ten!

Tracks:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 40 places is Dan Clarke – honourable mentions go to Pete B (+28), Suman K (+30), Matt M (+24), John K (+23), and Reagon K (+31)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 3 round up

 “Sure…?”

Hymn:

Does persistence pay off? Does practice make perfect? Does standing over someone with a massive stick to beat them with until they do it, get results? Or does a bit of guidance make a difference? Maybe a bit of persuasion and explanation on why you do things, helps? Or is it just random luck?

Who knows, but Rowan Marriott 40 (7) became a PAS week winner since FOREVER, whisking away the £20 prize by way of two x injury-time goals and some care & attention to what he was doing!

Sam O will by raging he missed 4 games and Dan W went all the way to the finish line only to be undone by random Monday night result picked up by Rowan

Nineteen scored 30+ points in another fine week of predicting that could be a record breaking season if this trend carries on – wow!

Vienna:

As the standards go up, the five people who couldn’t even manage 15+ points will be even more down…

4 didn’t register a correct score.

Reagon Karki 12 (0) limped home last this week – and probably wishes he was anywhere than in Germany right now…

Correct Score of the Week:

Another good week folks…most popular score was Bristol City’s 1-0 win over Hull – 19 of youse got that!

Nine will shout out loud about the humbling of Huddersfield by Burnley

6 saw their typo come good on the game at Bournemouth gifting them 9 points…

Five lapped up the injury time joy of Reading 3 Blackpool 1

Chris D & John J just knew QPR would score against Blackburn for a 1-3

Kate S & Predictz decided to deploy catenaccio to reap the rewards at Crystal Palace. And they did…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to….no one. Again. No unique correct score for a third week…amazing!

Bet of the Week:

Matt Worsfold was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 2 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Epic fail…

“Good morning treacle – here’s my BOTW selections
The Worsfold 3-Fold
Liverpool to win + 2.5 goals in the game – ooops!
Man United to win + 2.5 goals in the game – nearly
Jake Paul to beat the pretender Tommy Fury – nope!”

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th – booooooo!

A few are at 45th this week….but Pete Clarke was first out the hat!

Pierre, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Will you go back to basics?

No pressure fella!

Table News:

We Came To Dance:

Even more ominously, Dan Wayman stays top, but now 11 points ahead of Simon Linds who, in turn, is five points ahead of Frankie F in third…did I just read that right??!

Five crashed the Top Ten!

All Stood Still:

Patricia Fernandez moves down a place to the bottom, two points behind Debbie L who, in turn, is 2 points off Paul V

Passing Strangers:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 43 places is Sam Osmond – honourable mentions go to Kate S (+33), Peter M (+25), Pawan GC (+31), Rowan M (+40), and Suman K (+31)

Slow Motion:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 42 places is Reagon Karki – dishonourable mentions go to Khalid Z (-31), Gareth M (-26), Justin C (-38), Greg F (-25), Dan C (-32), and Dom W (-26)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 2 round up

 “Jesus is coming…”

Chime:

Not since Charlie Nicholas putting us 0-1 up in a Milk Cup quarter final in 1986 has Villa Park witnessed such ecstatic carnage in the away section as it did on Saturday lunchtime (although we brought 8,000 up that night!).

And talking of thrilling finishes…

Nine punters scored more than 30 points in a proper scrap for the £20 weekly prize this week!

Justin C produced an inspired performance (39 pts) after his horror show last week and Ben H notched up a very creditable 42 points after a similar shaky Week 1.

In fact, Ben went toe-to-toe and blow-for-blow only to be undone by an old man still recreating his magic after all these years…

But!

Don’t give up kids!

“All the high scorers will mess up sooner or later…” is surely the message here (even if you miss out by a measly point!)

After smashing in 3 correct scores courtesy of 90 min+ goals, a 4-0 and a 0-0, Dan Wayman 43 (8) is not letting up his grip on that trophy he won last season (hold on, is that why it’s broken?!).

As mentioned, Ben H matched him all the way, but it was some Neil Warnock wizardry in West Yorkshire that secured the telling correct score to get our current champion over the line…

Well played Mr. W!

Satan:

Gawd! Can you imagine being sold the PAS dream by your mate with the line, “but all your mates are doing it…” and then walking into a nightmare?

11 PASers didn’t get beyond fifteen points this week, with 4 not getting a single correct score.

One didn’t manage double figures.

Suman Kaflee 9 (0) is probably pining for the Bundesliga right now…

Welcome Hr. K!

Correct Score of the Week:

Another bumper week folks…most popular score was St Mirren’s 1-0 win over Ross County– 28 of youse got that!

Seventeen had Celtic’s merciless mauling of Aberdeen

15 had Boro’s 3-1 win over QPR

Thirteen were all over the 0-3 to Rangers

11 doffed a cap to Man Utd’s 3-0 deconstruction of Leicester

Six turned up Hull 0 PNE 0. Then sobbed a little bit as they thought of those poor souls who were actually there…

4 got the o-3 Posh win over Morecambe

Rob C & Kate S banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt AFC Wimbledon & Hartlepool

Stuart F & Dan C had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at the DW Stadium

Danny B & Moi bribed Dan & Dave to tinker with the PAS timelapse cog in the backend, and waltzed off with Watford 3 WBA 2.

However, this week’s best correct score goes to….no one. Again. No unique correct score for a second week…this is a first!

Bet of the Week:

Luke Stafford was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 1 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Oh dear…

“it’s always going to be darts – Premier League trixie for Peter Wright, Chris Doby & Michael Smith to win their games….”
Wrong, wronger & right.

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd – not the ideal start is it!

Loads are at 60th this week….but Matt Worsfold was first out the hat though!

Maffew, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

Will you go jellied eel racing?

No pressure treacle!

Table News:

Halcyon:

Ominously, Dan Wayman moves up 22 places to take his seat at the summit, 5 points ahead of Mark S who, in turn, is one point ahead of newbie Jasper M in third…

Seven crashed the Top Ten!

Dirty Rat:

Paul Vinson remains rooted to the bottom, one point behind Patricia F who, in turn, is 1 point off Anders H

Belfast:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 69 places is Justin Corliss – honourable mentions go to Jasper M (+28), Ben H (+68), Jason M (+29), Dave N (+42), Rich L (+35), Sturat F (+45), Tom W-S (+30) and Danny A (+28)

Funny Break:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 56 places is Suman Kaflee – dishonourable mentions go to Sam O (-31), Dave C (-36), Howard T (-41), Stephen H (-50), Pawan GC (-27), Matt W (-40) and Max M (-38)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’23 Week 1 round up

Current champ Dan Wayman has a puzzle to distract him this season…can you take his crown?

Eye Know:

We’re back! With a bang!

No, not Rashford – PAS!

Although, given the sharpness of this update, I could’ve waxed lyrical about “a big game on Wednesday” and how karma works (think that Chelsea fan is up out of his wheelchair now…) and gone into the absurdness of that unnecessary thing called VAR…

But I won’t…

I’ll cut to the chase as it was all about the “hot out the blocks” points trailblazers – and, they deserve props, right?

Two PASers were 3 x flame emojis this weekend as Andy Kelly 44 (8) nailed 5 correct scores across the, ahem, lower leagues to power to victory (actually he’s probably more indebted to those VAR decisions at West Ham & Palace tbh!)

Have a heart and spare a thought for Sam A who matched Andy’s points haul but fell short on the correct scores count (he did get a big 10 pointer at Celtic though!) and Mark S who narrowly missed out after employing a deft move to not predict Friday’s matches…

So, congrats Mr K, £20 winging its way back to you ASAP – everything else is a bonus for you this season now!

Say No Go:

Did you score 30 points + this week? Wow, we’re in awe…

Twenty five of you managed that, but only 4 punters couldn’t manage 15 points this week  – and 3 of those couldn’t muster a correct score!

Shocking.

Not as shocking as Jordan Pickford though, eh?

Anyway…

Everyone managed to break into double digits, but feeling no joy in Week 1 is Paul Vinson 11 (0).

Dr V, you spared my mum’s blushes – I salute you!

Correct Score of the Week:

Game on people…most popular score was Man City’s warm up 3-1 win over Villa – 25 of youse got that!

Twenty one got Burnley’s 3 goal demolition of PNE

15 got Ipswich’s “Desmond” with Sheff Wed

Seven got the dull-all at the Bet 365 (that’s the Britannia to you & I)

7 more got Sheff Utd 3 Swansea 0

Seven others got the very annoying last minute spoiling Cardiff 1 Middlesbro 3

4 celebrated the bore draw between Blackpool & Rotherham

Olly O, Sam A & Jasper M (welcome!) somehow stumbled on Celtic 5 St Mirren 1 (how????)

Ric P & Reagon K nailed Hartlepool 2 Sutton Utd 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to….no one. No unique correct score this week folks!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed quite spectacularly in the last few seasons on this – actually, we’ve always failed.

But last season, we did alright. Welllllll, alright(ish)…

So!

We’re being brave and we’re gonna stick with it to see how we go!

How?

Whoever is on the “Bet of the Week” position for the following week will be asked to provide a treble selection so we can place the allocated £3 for the bet.

The winnings will stay on that slot and collected by the lucky person residing there at the end of Week 13.

Got that? No?!

OK…

The person on 83rd will make the selections for Week 2, the person on 60th in Week 2 will make the selections for Week 3,the person on 45th in Week 3 will make the selections for Week 4 and the person on 33rd in Week 4 will make the selections for Week 5 and back round again to 83rd…yeah?!

Good.

So, youngster Luke Stafford is first up. (ask your Dad first Luke!) – Luke was first out the 83rd place hat that included Will O, Harry H & Tom W-S…

Luka, I need your 3 selections by Friday please! It can be a home, away or draw. It doesn’t have to be football! It can be horses! Or dogs! Or fighting crickets! But not cricket…that’s a step too far!

Let’s get off to a winning start for a change.

No pressure lad…

Table News:

It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for the full table

Please be aware we lost quite a few players but we can still gain some more…

Thanks to those of you who recruited the newbies this season – love youse! A special mention to Reagon K who has recruited like demon in Germany – we continue to reach far & wide…Mike K has another Candian on board too!

So, if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch!

It’s never too late…they’ll get a respectable Mr 2-0 22pts for Week 1 to boot!
