PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’25 Week 13 round up

“Oh.Dear.Gawd”

Smile:

Football is so old fashioned with it’s arbitrary rules like “goals” deciding games instead of forward thinking metrics like XG…

Anyway, thank you all for playing this season. I’m so glad it’s over!

So the last week of a, quite frankly, bizarre season went like this –

Only five punters managed to score 30 points or more.

Three of those could have won the final £20 weekly prize.

Andy F went really close but Motherwell’s 91st minute goal put pay to that.

George T went really really close!

He too was done by Motherwell, but it still looked all on from him until a certain C Palmer popped up to break his 19 game duck with a 96th minute penalty.

Strewth!

That left Superhoop Matthew Eadie 36 (5) out front with a pair of 5 pointers helping him on his way…(w)hoop (w)hoop!

How he’ll feel about Chelsea helping him out is, I guess, a bit like wanting Man Utd & Spurs to both lose in a Cup Final…

Bitter?

Moi?!

The Final Five

Assists

nothing to see here…

How Can I Make It Ok?:

Relax. It’s all over.

And we get the summer off!

16 of us scored no more than fifteen points this week.

Seven didn’t register a correct score.

Propping us all up in the final week?

Mark J Brown & Leo Clarke 10 (1)

Bet they don’t feel as deflated as I do though… <sob>

Correct Score of the Week:

Thank God this is over too…most popular score was Hull’s status saving 1-1 draw at Portsmouth– 19 of youse got that!

Sixteen lapped up the injury time joy of Burnley 3 Millwall 1

14 were grateful for the 3-1 Charlton win over Burton

Thirteen just knew Ross County would score against Hearts for a 1-3

11 made us all green by happening upon Hibs 3-1 Dundee Utd

Seven turned up Derby 0 Stoke 0. The most obvious bore draw ever. Even I got it!

Ben McK & Damian W banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Bristol City & PNE

Dan W was well away with the 0-1 away win for QPR at Sunderland

Neil C saw his typo come good on the game at St Mirren

Julian F snaffled up the 5 points served up by Everton & Ipswich

Paul V put us all to shame by predicting Norwich City 4 Cardiff City 2

However, the final week’s best correct score goes to Matthew Stafford for his there’s-always-a-six-goal-thriller-on-the-last-game-of-the-season inspired, Swansea City 3 Oxford United 3!

Bet of the Week:

Jack Buxton was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 12 so I asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the final £3 “trixie” bet of the season.

And guess what?!

All a bit “Nahsenal”…

“Fingers crossed, all full time result & BTTS”
Aston Villa – nope
Newcastle – didn’t even win
Borussia Dortmund – howler…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd leaving it on £6.53 – scant consolation for missing out on PAS CL qualification (not that I’d know about that…)

Table News:

One crashed the Top Ten.

Bros”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 19 places, is Matthew Eadie – honourable mentions go to George T (+15), Simon Linds (+10), Julian F  (+11), Sam B (+13), Howard T (+11), Greg F (+14), Dan H (+10), and Dan W (+10)

Don’t Delete The Kisses:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places, is Mark J Brown – dishonourable mention goes to Eddie O (-11)
