Spring Cup 2006 – Final Result

This is the result as both players have got Arsenal 3-2 for Wednesday… (please God!)

Simon L hit gold by getting both 1st goals for each side spot on! Amazing! Hopefully it softened the blow of Woking losing on Sunday as will the £40 prize…

Dan B was unlucky as he had Cisse and Gerrard the wrong way round for 1st and Last Liv scorers (not that it would’ve helped anyway in the end!) £22.50 runner up prize.

World Cup info on it’s way soon!

Right, I’m off to gay Paris…

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2006 – Final Preview

The showpiece of the season is taking place on Saturday when Danny Bushell takes on Simon Lindquist – why not check out the webpage to see what they have to predict to win the Cup?

Our League champion will be gracing the “Gallery” very soon, apparantly, he’s got a “really good shot worked out…” Hmmmmmmm.

World Cup rules will be coming round soon, so make sure you pass them on to your mates – it’s gonna be £10 entry for the whole tournament.

Cheers,
Pab

Spring 2006 : Cup SF & L13 Week 13 – Final Standings

Champions League :
He got one of the scores he required, so Dan Bushell 38(6) is the final weekly winner… Shame you won’t be putting that £20 towards a Cup Final ticket eh Dan?! Chin up son!
InterToto Cup :
Mourinho reckons Chelski won’t do a “Devon Loch” (or that thing about swimming after boats?!) but poor ols Steve Tindall has! Propping up the rest with the worst score this week – a lost-his-bottle-total of 15 (1)
Correct Score of the Week:
Only a handful got scores of merit but they all go the same ones! Toon and Brentford were had by many so that leaves Mark Fawke out front with his Luton 3 Reading 2 score and £5 in the bank. Although, there’s a stewards as Mark tried to claim Will O’s World Cup qualifying virgin the other week. Should he be denied his prize for being so bold and brazen? You decide…
Bet of the Week :
Did you get on after last weeks £63 winner? I did and Dave N’s selections duly paid out £78! Luvverly! Unfortunately the man himself didn’t back his acca and endured further misery when Shola “Shinner” Ameobi netted in the final minute to scupper Dave’s Solano/2-0 scorecast – oops! Margaret A’s selection fell by the wayside but the good news is if you followed the bets all season you’d be £176 in profit!

PAS Cup Semi Final Results

Simon Lindquist 32 (3) - Stephen Peaston 24 (3)
Jamie Sellers 36 (6) - Dan Bushell 39 (6)

Simon L pulled out a 14 point joker (ooh the irony of it being the Toon to knock out a Geordie!) to reach the final a la his beloved Woking and Dan B came out tops in a titanic struggle not a la his beloved Chelsea!

Jamie & Stephen both receive £12.50, the Final on May 13 will see the winner get £40 and the runner up £22.50. Well done players!

Table News:

You Are A Winner!:
You’ll have to wait til Dave posts the final league table up – ha ha ha! Is it you receiving the inaugral PAS Lucky 13 trophy?
You Are A Loser!:
We all knew Greg Edwards would be rock bottom and will receive a wooden spoon in the post very soon. You are rubbish!
You’ve Won A Spot Prize:
You’ll have to wait til Dave posts the final league table up – ha ha ha! Mr 2-0 is one winner and the money is going to charidy (mate)…

All prize winners will be contacted and money paid in due course – congrats!

Another great season people, I hope you’ll come back for more come September – until then, it’s the Word Cup up next (I shall be in touch shortly). Thanks for bothering to take part and if you see Dave Nicklin about, buy him a drink cos his marking system has made this a whole lot easier and accurate (bar a few ricketts made by the staff here!)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : PAS favours for anyone who can get me a ticket for the Champions League Final – we’ve booked the ferry!!

Spring 2006 : Cup SF & L13 Week 13 – Latest…

Jamie S will win if Aston Villa win 3-2

Tapiwa M will win if City win 1-3

John W will win if Villa & City draw 3-3

Dan B will win with any other scores…

PAS Cup Semi latest

Simon L 32 (3) - Stephen P 23(3)
Jamie S 36 (6) - Dan B 39 (6)

Full round up tomorrow

Cheers,
Pab

PS – we have our very own Devon Loch in our midst…

Spring 2006 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 11 – Review

Class A Filly :
It went to the wire, but Michelle Fernandez 36(5) has *that* Kilmarnock goal at home to Celtic to thank for edging her past Dam McG for this weeks £20. So, missus, is it a score towards renewing your season ticket at the Glazerdome or a nice big Easter Egg (filled with crisps) for me? You decide…
Donkey:
Being a little brother probably isn’t the best of deals anyway, but when your sister out-performs you at a “boys” game, it must be even worse. Danny Ashworth 12(0) scorn is coming your way…
Correct Score of the Week:
Could have been Neil M’s Hearts 4-0, but Mark F got it as well. Could have been Michelle F’s Celtic 1-4, but Gary B got that as well. Could have been the Sunderland Fulham A-A, but no one got that. And nothing else was got either this week. Mark Fawke is still out front with two weeks to go.
Bet of the Week :
Will O’s Willy horse was all wrong – we’re now £2 down for the season. Over to you Michelle F to get us back on winning ways!
Cup:
The replay result was as follows – Simon L 24(2) – Jazz S 22(2) – at least that stops the “machine” from doing the double!

Draw for the semi’s (guaranteed £12.50 pay out from this stage)

Simon L v Stephen P
Jamie S v Dan B

Ties to played on w/e 22nd April (Week 13) – neutral venue so all players can play a “Joker”.

World Cup: In the end we had quite a bit of interest but only a handful actually submitted a scoresheet…

Results:
Mark Brown (Pab) 16 (2)
Brian Simpson (Gary B) 30 (4)
Tom Bateman (Jazz S) 32 (3)
Delroy Ebanks (?) 35 (5)

Well done Delroy, top debut score! Whoever put Delroy forward, claim you free entry to World Cup 06 prize!

Table News:

Upfront:
The table has a horribly familiar look about it with Jazz S on top with a 7 point gap over Steve T
At The back:
Looks like he’s given up – Greg E is floundering 13 points away from Gary B
Climbing:
Unsurprisingly, Michelle F is the highest climber up 10 places to 17th – others are Matt W (+5) to 10th, and Mindy N (+7) to 22nd – both profiting from a Mr 2-0 week
Falling:
Unsurprisingly, Danny A is the biggest faller down 8 places to 29th – others are Jamie S (-6) to 24th and Stephen P / Will O / Neil T (-5) to 14th / 21st / 31st respectively
Spot Prizers:
Simon S (+2) to 11th, Pam D stays on 23rd and Ben H (+2) to 30th

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Betting “on the nose” isn’t very clever…

Spring 2006 : Cup & L13 Week 9 – Corrections…

…I knew I came back too early…

Got the scores wrong for some of you – don’t worry Andy B, you’ve still got your £20!

Cup scores should have read as follows…

Clare N 25 (2) V Steve P 33 (4)
Jazz S 23 (2) V Simon L 23 (2)
Mark F 19 (2) V Dan B 26 (4)
Jamie S 17 (1) V Simon S 15 (2)

Be nice, I’m not well…
Pab

Spring 2006 : Cup QF & L13 Week 9 – Review

Hola!

Finally out of the sickbed and enough energy to type (I felt like ET when they found him by the river…) – soz for the disruption but I understand Steve P and Dave N have been looking after you – cheers lads.

OK, Week 9…

Weekly Winner:
Andy Bowkett won with 34 (5) just edging out Steve P on 33 (4) If you want to a last minute Bet of the Week Andy, the floor is yours – well done, £20 coming your way soon…
Bet of the Week:
Yep, Tapiwa M lost so now we’re down to £3-odd profit…
PAS Cup Quarter Finals:
Soooooo, Steve P knocks out the current League Champion, Jazz S has that Polish keeper to thank for the extra point on his Spurs joker to salvage the first draw in the history of the Cup (I think), Dan B’s extra correct score takes him through and Jamie S probably can’t believe his luck.
Simon L – Jazz S replay will take place on Week 11 – Simon, you get to play a joker this time… the other 3 through are now guaranteed a payout at the end of the season – well done!

I’ll get all the details over to Dave soon so he can compile a table – remember, scoresheets back to me (on both e-dresses please!) by 19.44 tonight.

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2006 : Quarter Final Draw

Like art imitating real life, the tie of the round is a Geordie who has won nothing up against last years League champ…!

Clare Nevin v Stephen Peaston
Jazz Sian v Simon Lindquist
Mark Fawke v Dan Bushell
Jamie Sellers v Simon Schofield

Not a clue when these ties will take place as the real QF’s seem to be taking place midweek this year – bizarre! It will be around Week 8 or Week 9…

Cheers,
Pab

PS – I’ve just sent over the updated Week 5 scoresheet so give him a chance to upload it – if you’ve been quick of the mark, the one that’s got Spurs – Wigan, West Ham – Man U on it is wrong! You want the one with Match 30 reading Man Utd v Wigan (Carling Cup Final)

Spring 2006 : Cup & L13 Week 4 – Roundup

Colchester Balloons:
In a week when the big hitters came out to play, the predicting machine that is Jazz Sian 47 (6) reared his money winning head and ran off with another £20 weekly win. There are some people who think Jazz is a pseudonym of mine and I cheat money from the hordes every season. I may have to start doing this in future just to stop him winning… Well done Jazz, shame Sp*rs only drew though eh?!
Smudgers Ankle:
Going to the New Den is painful in itself. Seeing your team concede a last minute goal just rubs it in. Getting 14 (0) Gary Blackburne, was surely too much???!
Correct Score of the Week:
Many were on the Charlton & Hearts gravy trains, Jamie S and Steve T saw Joe Cole coming and Jazz S fluked a Plymouth 3-1 (they never score three!). This weeks title, and season best so far, goes to Mark Fawke for his Luton 3 Reading 2 prediction, beating his own previous best Colchester – Derby selection
Bet of the Week:
It was all looking spot on for some money and up stepped the Pie Eaters at T*tt*nh*m – worth every penny in my book! We’re now £15 down and relying on Jazz S to share his predicting acumen… Come on, you owe us!
Cup Update:
Humdinger of a 5th round! Stephen P forgot to play a joker, scored 21 points and still went through – Michelle F’s 39 point haul ran into Jazz S and Mark F can thank his Toon joker for edging him past his good friend Will O in the Croydon derby by 41-40!

Draw for Quarter Finals will take place very soon on Five Live…

Table News:

Top:
Jazz Sian (+5) opens up a 9 point gap over 2nd placed Steve T
Bottom:
Gary Blackburne (-5) is 5 points adrift of Danny A
Climbing:
Michelle Fernandez (good girl!) is this weeks hihest climber up 17 places to 11th – mentions to Clare N (+7 to 8th), Simon L (+11 to 19th), Jamie S (+10 to 22nd) and Andy B (+9 and off the bottom to 25th)
Falling:
As bad as her daughter is good, Margaret Ashworth is the biggest faller down 10 to 26th – of note, Karl C (-5 and off the top to 6th), Richard L (-7 to 14th), Mindy N (-5 to 27th), Julian F (-9 to 32nd)
Spot Prizers:
Michelle F on 11th / Tapiwa M on 23rd / me on 30th (boooo!)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week: Why couldn’t that mongy Chelsea ballboy find a white ball amongst yellow balloons?

Spring Cup 2006 : Pre-Season

Hola!

A couple of people have dropped out so a couple of people who finished just outside the Top 32 have been invited to join us…

Start those cheques/transfers coming in – we kick off PAS Lucky 13 Spring 2006 on w/e 28th/29th January and end thirteen weeks later on w/e April 22nd/23rd 2006.

Get that £22.50 rolling in please (cheques made payable to me!)

The 1st week of the PAS League is also the 2nd leg of the 3rd round of the Cup!

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2006 1st Round 1st Leg (FA Cup 3rd Round)

Robbie! Robbie! Robbie!:
Not the best week to “win” as there’s no prize money – but upping her kudos is the missus, Michelle F 35(5) and she even had the sense not put Man yoo as her “joker”!
Spurs:
All those “no shows” who didn’t send scores in – you fools! 12(0) is your scant reward!
Correct Score of the Week:
Loads got Blackburn and Millwall, and quite a few got WBA, Man Citeh, Wigan & Sunderland – this weeks award is null & void unless someone wants to put a case forward?
Jokers:
No one took full advantage, 4 of you chose Man U or Fulham (duh!) and two of you (John W & Dan McG) didn’t bother to nominate a “joker” game!
Payments:
Yep we’re all in the same boat being skint after Christmas, but if you can, start getting your £22.50’s in to me asap
All payments in by 28th January please – you can send a post dated cheque if you prefer.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring 2006 – We begin with Week 1 on the weekend of January 28/29. This will also double up as the 3rd round 2nd leg.

The scoresheet will appear on the webpage early next week – in the meantime sit back, relax, start studying the form and look forward to the results of our Christmas “Year End” survey for all things music & football…

Cheers,
Pab

Spring Cup 2006 : Pre-Season

Congratulations! You made it through and now will be involved in the Cup competition that runs alongside the next Lucky 13 campaign. Also, you’re guaranteed entry into the World Cup special in June – cool eh?!

First off – IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE PART NEXT YEAR PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP!!!

The cost will go up slightly to £22.50 (to pay for the Cup comp) and I know you’re all good for the money so as long as you get the money in by the end of Jan (after the next payday, that’s cool)

The 1st scoresheet you will receive will be for the 1st round of the Cup on weekend 6/7 Jan – if you haven’t got thru to this stage before, basically what happens is you get drawn against one another and are playing against each other – highest scorer goes thru to the next round and so on to the Final.

The 1st round of the Cup does not carry a £20 weekly prize.

The 1st week of Lucky 13 Spring 2006 will start the following week and run for 13 weeks in the same format as you’ve just completed.

I’ll get Dave N to post up the 1st Cup scoresheet asap and I will mail round the “draw” soon as well.

Any queries/questions – give me a shout

Cheers,
Pab
