Get ready people – PAS Lucky 13 Winter 13 is nearly here!

Hola!

Are you ready? I think we are…

We need you to do AT LEAST the following AS SOON AS YOU CAN! (yep, it’s that important i’m cyber-SHOUTING!)

1) You’ve had your log-in details – have you logged in? Go to www.pabspace.co.uk (bookmark it!!!)

Have you changed your password? You really can you know & you need to cos those new ones are quite devilish aren’t they?!

Then log in again & get used to doing it cos it’s gonna happen a lot over the next 13 weeks or so. Oh, and make a note of your new memorable password & keep it somewhere safe!

2) Have a play & explore of the site – we made it all for you!

Stick some scores in just for the hell of it, maybe put a 10-0 in for a laugh, a Man Yoo win or a loads of 2-0’s – yeah crazy stuff! Fear not though as you can change/edit them as many times as you like until 1 minute before the kick off time! (but maybe leave the Man Yoo one hehehe…)

3) Check out the new “Bet of the Week” that EVERYONE contributes to!

Follow the instructions on screen and we’ll do the rest (but cast your votes well before 10am on Saturday please as that’s the point where we get the abacus out to see where the money is going)

4) PAY YOUR MONEY!

If you already have, thanks, you’re a star! If you haven’t, get a wriggle on and get it sorted as soon as please!

5) Any questions, queries, praise, criticism, insights or ideas please send it all to the following email address

[email protected] – we’ll get right back to you!

All good? Muy bien – you’re about to make history, be proud of your bad self…..

Cheers,

Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 13 Final Table News

Thanks again for taking part – I hope you’ll join us for PAS Lucky 13 Spring 13 in February…

All prize winners – money will be winging its way over very soon – congrats!

Happy New Year!:
He pretty much led throughout the whole campaign and only looked catchable for one which a fabulous way to conduct your debut season! Through gritted teeth(!) let’s congratulate Spurs supporter Steve Meaton on finishing top of the pile. Buying yourself one of those “Mind The Gap” tee-shirts with your winnings?!
Mr Meaton had an 11 point lead over the old stalwart Richard Hirst in second place (I think you’ll be back in favour with the syndicate now Tricky!), who finished seven correct scores above an even older stalwart (& now RVP lovin’) that is Olly Osmond in third place.
Dave Crisp has done an Arsenal finishing in fourth place (not a trophy in PAS either!) ahead of Neil Osborne who will be a bristling Blade finishing 5th two points above Sam Arora in 6th (second season he’s smashed his brother!)
Tony Morris improved 30 places on last season to notch seventh place 5 correct scores above Will Oppong in eighth (which really could be “doing an Arsenal” this season!), who in turn finishes 1 point above the inseparable pair “Woking Wonder” Simon Lindquist & “Croydon Door Legend” Howard Thomas in joint ninth. Spare a thought (just a small one mind, he’s got broad shoulders) for Tony Bowley in 11th place, just one point shy of the “big prizes”…
Happy New Year?:
The battle of the bottom was pretty much as cut n dry early doors as first place! Mr 2-0 takes the wooden spoon this season (exactly where he should always be!) 14 points adrift of Neil B – oh dear, oooh to be a Wiganer!
Spot Prizers:
OK, IT IS Week 13, you HAVE won these prizes! Paul Campbell added to his Week 4 win at 12th (£25), Danny Ashworth is at 17th (£25), Ryan Brady & Paul Henshaw shared 23rd (£11.50 each), Simon Buxton is at 26th (£23), James Challinor is at 31st (£23) securing and paying for his PAS Cup entry, Felix Hines is at 34th joined by Ben Hogwood (£11.50 each) and Josh Hirst carries on his annual earning in 36th (£20). More sharing on 42nd between Frankie Fernandez & Stephen Street (£10 each), Jon Tofeili is on 50th (£15) adding to his Week 5 win, Simon Lindsay is on 54th (£20), Jamie Sellers on 60th (£20) and Siri Ofstead recoups (£20) at 65th. Norman Lee on 67th (£15), lucky Dave Nicklin is at 71st (£25) and even luckier is Jay Hoskinson on 75th (£20). Neil Birchall takes the last £20 on 82nd!
Bet of the Week:
A bit more success this season! Rich Lee finished on 11th and picked up a fiver for his troubles! Charlie Harris can take some consolation finishing on 33rd between Cup qualification and £23, by landing a massive two quid, Jack Buxton & Rich Lee on 47th shared £14 and Louise Briggs in 66th unfortunately will get nowt for all her efforts!
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2013 you had to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Sneaking the last spot is… Savan Arora.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
I waited a long time for my first points in this competition and even made it through by the skin of my teeth to the hallowed “Last 16” stage! Congrats to Group winners (A) Dave Crisp, (B) Tony Bowley, (C) Andy Chesworth, (D) Jon Tofeili, (E) Pete Britton, (F) Sam Arora, (G) Stephen Street and (H) Simon Buxton.
A big well done also to runners-up (A) Olly Osmond, (B) Louise Briggs, (C) Neil Templeton, (D) Moi!, (E) Gareth Morgan, (F) Martin Stafford, (G) Clare Templeton and (H) Danny Ashworth.
You’ve all qualified for the knock out stages where PAS Lucky 13 Spring 13 will cost you £20 irrespective of where you finished this campaign – the draw (attached) was conducted by Frankie Fernandez… so blame her!
And Another Thing:
The other little bits…

  • Paul Vinson picked up an additional £13 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season (he’s making a habit of this!) – 50(8) Will Oppong picks up £12 for Best Correct Score of the Season – Peterborough 1 Blackburn Rovers 4.
  • Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter – and a final big thank you to Dave N for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great season…
  • We’ll see the Top 32 in January for the PAS Cup & Lucky 13 Spring 13 along with those of you game enough to take on the “cream” – the rest of you (that don’t want to play – surely not??!), we’ll see you in September – remember, spread the word and get all your mates involved for next season!

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 12 Roundup

Phew!

I shall be planning all this a bit better next year! Thanks for your patience…

Week 13 scoresheets by Boxing Day 11.59 please – last one of the “Winter” season so you might as well try and win the £20!

“At your primitive best”:
With uncanny timing and week after “registering the best joker EVER” to no avail, Clare Templeton 37(7) wins her obligatory seasonal cash and progresses in the CL after weeks of letting Mr 2-0 do her leg work… #inspired
“Cool pools drown your mind”:
A pretty bleak week for lot of PASers to match the Mayan weather – particularly so for Nick Hogwood 7 (0) #bahhumbug
Correct Score of the Week:
Merry Christmas?… – most popular score was Kilmarnock’s 1-1 with Hibs – 21 of us got that!
Seven got the 2-2 at St Andrews and 11 got Celtic’s 4-0 victory v Ross County.
Jazz S & Gary M got the 0-0 between Sp*rs & St*ke. Jamie S & Stuart F got Swansea 1 Man Yoo 1.
Gary M (again!) got Palace 1 Huddersfield 1 & Norman L Liverpool 4 Fulham 0.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Siri Ofstad for her inspired, Inverness CT 4 Dundee 1.

Table News:

“The jewel, the prize”:
Steve Meaton stays top with a 7 point lead over Olly O who in turn is 8 points ahead of Richard H in third as the title race comes to a boil. Neil M crashes the Top Ten…
“What have you done to her?”:
Mr 2-0 stays anchored at the bottom now 14 points behind Neil B who in turn is 2 correct scores off mark J B as the wooden spoon race is surely now concluded…
“They said, I’d be impressed”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 18 places is Neil Meredith – honourable mentions go to Howard T (+10), Scott H (+11), Jazz S (+14) and Jack B (+10)

Bet of the Week:
Ooooh so close! Man U & a half dead RVP let us down on the away selections – shall we blame Ashley Williams??!
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
See site for full results. Skin. Of. Teeth. Yeah, it was that close for so many of us – read ’em and weep time for a lot of you. Scott H’s 16 point joker was all in vain, Jamie T will be cursing Clare T actually submitting scores, Gary M nearly staged the comeback of all time but was scuppered by the other (holder) Templeton, Lousie B just abot saw off Dan P, I had Dave T to thank for beating Simon Lindq and Jamie S joins Ben H & Will O on the CL record of P6 W0 – amazing!
Knock Out stage draw to follow…

Merry Christmas!

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 11 Roundup

“I will dance the night away”:
It was that long ago I can’t really remember the drama that unfolded on Week 11! My hunch that our youngest competitor would win came through though, so well done to (baby? toddler?) Mahli Gupta 46(6) the £20 is yours! Spend it wisely sunshine, I think your granddad deserves a pressie…

Bet of the Week:
The “Hitman” missed… thrice!
And Another Thing:
Here’s one for the poll from Daniel H…

Hey Pab, we were wondering. You ordinarily give the weekly prize to a tramp if by some chance Mr 2-0 wins it. The question however stands would you give the wooden spoon to one?

Question of the Year??!

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 12 Final Update!

Hola!

Yes it was a shambles, yes it’s not acceptable and yes, it won’t, ahem, happen again…

3 reasons why Week 12 had to be abandoned

  1. Some people who submitted the original (wrong) scoresheet were unable to submit the amended correct scoresheet = unfair
  2. We couldn’t ignore the wrong fixtures & play with 24 games as that favoured those at the top = unfair
  3. I’m a spaz = fair

So, please rest easy and refrain from telling me “you’ve had your best week EVER in PAS” cos its over, we move on and play Week 12 this week!

Week 13 will now take place on Boxing Day so you can work off that festive feast on Christmas Day by poring over league tables & current form – don’t say I don’t look after you!

Yours humbly,
El Presidente

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 12 Not sure why I didn’t do this earlier…

…but Week 12 is cancelled!

Sorry folks, due to my lackadaisical editorial skills on this weeks scoresheet coupled with playing at popstars all week, we’ve created a monster ’’mare that has caused mayhem!

Some people haven’t managed to resubmit so it’s only fair they get to compete on a level playing field.

Next week will now be Week 12 and we’ll have out final flourish over the festive period.

Please be gentle with me, I’m very fragile after last nights end of tour aftershow…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 12 Update

Please note that as the wrong fixtures are noted for the SPL games on the week 12 scoresheet, and a number of scoresheets have already been submitted all SPL games will be excluded this week.

The Montrose/Rangers came will still count.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 11 Update…

I’ll stick my neck out and say our youngest entrant will win this weeks £20 with a game to go!

On that note… I’m off DJing on the St Etienne tour this week so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get things done (you know, busy with all those pop star things like, um, travelling…) so please be patient with me! I’ll do my best…

I’ll send round the Week 12 scoresheet in a bit so you’ve got that but don’t rely on me for reminders!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 10 Roundup

“Here I am, standing here”:
In twenty odd years of PAS I don’t think we’ve ever had a winning score under 30 points. Well, “think again” comes the retort cos Howard Thomas 29(3) has managed the seemingly impossible (a bit like Palace top of the league!) and takes this week’s £20 from Neil M. A fine week all round for South London then!
“Well, what am I supposed to do”:
I guess the only consolation for Simon Lindsay 10(0) is that he’s not alone this week clocking up the worst score – come on down Gary Blackburne… (like he cares after Saturday!)
Correct Score of the Week:
Bleak is an understatement… – most popular score was Norwich’s 2-1 win over Sunderland – 14 of you got that!
Six got the 1-1 at the Etihad and 4(!) got Watford’s 4-1 victory v Barnsley.
Anders H & Harry B got the 3-0 between Super Palace & the Tesco Bags.
Stephen S got Millwall 0 Charlton.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Ian Pratt for his inspired, WBA 0 Stoke 1.

Table News:

“My new name was repetition”:
Steve Meaton stays well and truly out front 22 points ahead of Dave C who in turn is 1 point ahead of Olly O in third as the Top Three remains unchanged. Anders H crashes the Top Ten…
“I think I hate”:
Mr 2-0 stays well and truly marooned now 9 points behind Clare T who in turn is 1 point off Vim G as the bottom three remains unchanged.
“…we’re like a big game of snakes and ladders”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 15 places is Howard Thomas – honourable mentions go to James C (+11), Neil M (+12), Louise B (+11), Pab (+12) and Jason M (+12)
“Well I think I’ll wait”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 12 places is Alex Rossi – dishonourable mentions go to Pete B (-7), Mark S (-8), Siri O (-8), Steve T (-7) and Gary B (-11)
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… ”I’m – chaining – my – wife – to – the – radiator – until – she – submits – some – scores” – Neil Templeton.
Bet of the Week:
Whoop whoop! Olly O put £5 onto spot prize slot 11th courtesy of a fine away win 4-timer… and earned himself another £4 on his weekly winnings!
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
See attached for full round up by clicking on the “current” tab. Congrats to Simon B & Stephen S for securing safe passage to the knockout stages next year. Groups A, F & E are now concluded, we had our first draw (oh Alex, you should’ve let it lie!) and Jamie S has one more go to avoid a startling 12 straight CL defeats in a row!. I’ve still not managed to join the elite as Groups B, C & D go to the nail biting wire…
And Another Thing:
SANTA ETIENNE IS COMING TO TOWN
Our Christmas dates with Scritti Politti and DJ Paul Fernandez are selling out really fast. We are down to the last few at those venues that haven’t sold out already, so if you’ve not booked your ticket yet we’d advise doing it really soon…

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 9 Roundup

Scoresheets back by 19.44 on Friday please.

It’s the penultimate week of the CL group stages and all to play for (for most) – I’ve spoken to Dave C and he said he’ll be putting in full strength scores and not giving Mr 2-0 a run out despite already qualifying for the knockout stages… unlucky Josh!

Home people, really don’t forget your joker, it could make all the difference!

“The vision of your smiling face”:
One of the old-skoolers nailed this week’s £20 as, like his team, he turns the screw as we approach the final turn for home! Congrats to Olly Osmond 35(6) who will no doubt let his old mate Neil T know all about it! I expect the missus will be getting a little more than paper roses then Olly?!.
“All alone in my gloom”:
He lives out in the desert and I’m guessing the heat has affected his brain – Mark J Brown 6(0) is feeling bluer than Everton right now…
Correct Score of the Week:
You’re improving – I’m not… most popular score was Cardiff’s 1-2 win over Barnsley – 25 of you got that!
Eighteen got the 2-2 at Bloomfield Road and 6 got Morecambe’s 3-1 victory v Wimbledon.
7 got St Mirren 3 Dundee 1, four(!) got the five goal thriller in Derby, 4 got the non-thriller in South Wales and eleven got Spurs 3 West Ham 1.
Frankie F / Dan P / Ryan G got the 1-1 between Everton & Norwich and Howard T & Dave C got Wigan 3 Reading 2. Jamie T & Martin S got Chelsea’s zero zero with Man City.
Anders H got Hull 0 Burnley 1 & Dave T got Aberdeen’s 0-1 win against Hibs.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to John Street for his inspired if non-inspiring, Motherwell 0 Hearts 0.

Table News:

“Sittin’ in my easy chair”:
Steve Meaton stays top the league and but his lead is cut to a mere 23 points ahead of Dave C who in turn is 3 points ahead of the Top Ten crashing Olly O in third.

PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… Roberto’s No. 1 fan – Martin Stafford.
Bet of the Week:
As good as the weather…
And Another Thing:
Poll or no poll?

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 8 Roundup

“We should be making hay”:
West Ham caused a lot of grief this week by being inept at home (see CL update) especially for my ol’ mucker Will O! He was well ahead of the game in a very low scoring week but then up popped Sam Arora 31(4) to steal his thunder courtesy of the aforementioned 1-1 result. £20 to you Sam. Never trust those East London lot Will…
“Victory is empty there are lessons in defeat”:
I guess the only consolation for Howard Thomas 10(0) is that he’s not alone this week clocking up the worst score – come on down Paul Vinson…
Correct Score of the Week:
I’m considering changing this to Predict-A-Result… – most popular score was Hearts’ 1-0 win over St Mirren – 16 of you got that!
Eleven got the 3-0 at Selhurst and 4 got West Broms 2-1 victory v Chelsea!
Ryan B / Olly O / Rich L got the 3-0 between Liverpool & Wigan and Dan P & Sam A got Swindon 4 Yeovil 1.
Will O got QPR 1 Scummers 3 & Tony B got Reading’s 2-1 win against Everton.
However, this week’s best correct score, and best correct of the season so far, goes to Will Oppong for his inspired, Peterborough 1 Blackburn Rovers 4.

Table News:

“The sun is shining”:
Steve Meaton stays top the league and extends his lead to a massive 24 points ahead of Will O who in turn is 2 points ahead of Simon Lindq in third. Sam A crashes the Top Ten…
“You’re too far gone to even care”:
Mr 2-0 stays anchored to the bottom of the pile now 4 points behind Vim G who in turn is 5 points off Clare T.
“Bought us time on easy street”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 19 places is Mark J Brown – honourable mentions go to Sam A (+12), Ryan B (+17) and Siri O (+14)
“Now our paths,they never meet”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 11 places is Louise Briggs – dishonourable mentions go to Jazz S (-8), Martin S (-12) and Paul V (-10)
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the disgruntled sibling – Savan Arora.
Bet of the Week:
Oh. Dear. I think you can guess…
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
See attached for full round up by clicking on the “current” tab. Congrats to Dave C & Pete B for securing safe passage to the knockout stages next year. Frankie F is going the same way as her dad did last year in nort winning a single tie (Jamie S, you need to register too!). I would’ve joined the elite but for a West Ham score draw and well placed Dave T joker scuppering me by a single point – grrr!
And Another Thing:
Our worst start to a season since 1982 and you still can’t beat us! Ade, we salute your reckless damn-fool mercenary ass…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 7 Roundup

“Your breath has never tasted as sweet”:
Very close week this week and it turns out a last minute goal from Hull City was just enough to beat our reigning title holder to the weekly prize! A case of like brother like, um, brother as Jamie Tofeili 37 (7) emulates his big bruvver’s Week 5 win adding another £20 to the Tofeili name. No need for that Toon-assisting Wonga loan now J…!
“Don’t treat it like some kind of joke”:
He was up early with the bairns on Saturday sending in his scores, but this early bird couldn’t catch a cold! Stephen Peaston 7 (0) must be inconsolable when you add a defeat by West Ham into the equation…
Correct Score of the Week:
Quite thin on the ground this week – most popular score was Man City 2 Sp*rs 1 – 23 of youse got that score!
11 got Boro’s 3-1 against Sheff Wed, 6 got the 2-2 between Leicester and The Tricky Trees and 6 got Reading 0 Norwich 0…
13 got Blackpool 2 Bolton 2 and 4 somehow got Celtic 1 St Mirren 1.
Olly O got Killy 3 Rossy 0.
However, this week’s best correct score, and new correct score of the season, goes back to Reda Allam for his inspired Morecambe 4 Barnet 1.
Bet of the Week:
Tony S went for it and… failed.

Table News:

“My freedom is a vision you seek”:
Steve Meaton stays top now 19 points ahead of the Simon Lindq and these two are pulling away from the chasing pack as Tony M is a further 5 points behind in third. Jamie T moves into the Top Ten…
“This song is, kind lady, my only hope”:
Mr 2-0 remains bottom now 4 points adrift of Vim G. Clare T is only five points further up as the battle royale at the foot of the table continues apace!

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 21 places is John Street – honourable mentions go to Jamie T (+18), Josh H (+16), Chris B (+20) and Siri O (+20).
“This big, old boat is-a-startin’ to sink”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 22 places is Linsey Proctor – dishonourable mentions go to Stephen P (-19), Steve T (-16), Frankie F (-17), and Savan A (-16)

“hope Germany was good – decent ground top place for boozing!!…I went there 3 years ago with my City mate. I met the most hated man in German football… the fella at the Borrussia Monchengladbach game who used to chant “give me a B”…”

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 6 Roundup

Right, I’m off to Schalke in about 7 hours so it may be riddled with mistakes (gulp!) cos I need some sleep before the beer & bratwurst-a-thon commences. Keep ’em crossed for me we don’t play like we did at OT cos we really will get a shellacking…

Week 7 scoresheets back to me by 19.44 on Friday please.

“Waking up at 6 a.m. on a cool warm morning”:
A bizarre weekend of scores (even at WHL – snigger!) put pay to most predictions this week. However, Tony Smith 34 (6) begs to differ as he slammed home this week’s winning set of scores. £20 winging its way mate – will it go towards an El Hadji Diouf shirt?!
“Lights going out and a kick in the b*lls”:
This week Vim Gupta 7(0) may have been wishing he forgot to submit his scores (again)…
Correct Score of the Week:
Ooooh, it was horrific out there… – most popular score was Norwich’s 1-0 win over Stoke – 16 of you got that!
Seven got the 2-2 at Seaweed, 9 got Fulham’s “Desmond” v Everton and 5 got Swansea’s 1-1 against The Chavs.
Dave T / Sam A / Paul Car got the 0-1 between Birmingham & Ipswich and Gary B & Linsey P got Dundee 1 Hearts 0.
Gary M & Dave C got Motherwell’s 1-3 away win against St Johnstone.
However, this week’s best correct score, and best correct of the season so far, goes to Tony Smith for his inspired and quite obviously 94th minute lucky, Dundee U 2 Celtic 2.

Table News:

“Watching the telly and thinking about your holidays”:
Steve Meaton stays top the league and extends his lead to a massive 17 points ahead of Paul V who in turn is 1 point ahead of Simon Lindq in third. Kate H crashes the Top Ten…
“A baby wailing and stray dog howling”:
Mr 2-0 stays rooted to the bottom of the pile now 2 correct scores behind Vim G who in turn is 1 point behind Gary M.
“Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 29 places is Tony Smith – honourable mentions go to Neil O (+17), Sam A (+19), James C (+14), Dave T (+14) and Neil B (+12)
“P*ssing down with rain on a boring Wednesday”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 19 places is Neil Meredith – dishonourable mentions go to Vim G (-11), Stuart L (-13), Jamie S (-11), Gareth M (-15) and Francesca F (-14)
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… not so happy Hotsp*r – Gareth Morgan.
Bet of the Week:
From the sublime (last week) to the ridiculous (yep, this week), Jon T failed on every level…
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
See website for updated tables. Weird week for joker points (after all my reminders I forgot mine… but to be fair it would’ve gone the hapless Sp*rs) with only 3 people actually scoring bonus points… And even weirder, 2 people picked a Burnley v Wolves draw…
And Another Thing:
Glad to see the RVP baiting was half hearted at best amongst our throng at OT – not glad to see how utterly inept and pathetic we were on the pitch (bar BFG & Vito) – even worse than the 8-2…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 6 BotW

Homes

Apologies for the delay but next week may be even later!

Week 6 scoresheets back by 19.44 on Friday.

PAS CL Matchday 3 home teams – don’t forget your “joker”!

“…right from the start”:
Phew, it was close this week! Mrs F & I got the last plane outta NYC just as Sandy arrived, Arsenal have just made Houdini look ordinary and a Tomkins injury time goal at Wigan secured Jon Tofeili 40(8) a £20 weekly win sneaking past Tony M! And he only just got his scores in on time! Well done Jonny boy – Geordie champagne all round?!
“How did it feel to be alone?”:
Well, that didn’t take long did it? New mum Louise Briggs 9(0) has all those sleepless nights & nappy changes to blame for a shocker!
Correct Score of the Week:
Good stuff people, good stuff… – most popular score was Villa’s 1-1 with Norwich – 30 of you got that!
10 got the 0-0 at the Britannia and Harry B / Felix H / Olly O got the super Eagles 1-2 v Leicester City.
Four got the “Desmond” between Hearts & Ross Co., 14 got the controversial score draw at Goodison and 7(!) got the 2-3 between the Chavs and the Homewreckers Mk II.
Paul Car got Cardiff 4 Burnley 0, Tony b got St Mirren’s 0-1 against Dundee U and El Presidente got Man City’s modest win over Swansea…
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Reda Allam for his inspired Barnsley 1 Nottm Forest 4. Oh, this is also the new best correct score of the season beating the last one Reda posted a few weeks ago!

Table News:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 28 places is Jon Tofeili – honourable mentions go to Tony M (+21), Ryan B (+23), Howard T (+20), Felix H (+27), Linsey P (+20) and Jay H (+19)
“What if your world should fall apart?”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 23 places is Steve Tagger – dishonourable mentions go to Paul Cam (-18), Louise B (-20), Gary B (-16), Chris B (-16), and Tony S (-15)
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2013, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… exiled in Oz ’Ammer – Paul Carter.
Bet of the Week:
We have PAS history! Old skooler Ryan Graves went nu-school and nailed all three of his 3, 4 & 5 “both teams to score” selections – amazing! Ryan adds £7 to his £10 shared weekly win and more importantly, puts £14 on BotW slot 47th! Leg-end!

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 4 Roundup

Hola!

Week 5 scoresheets back by 19.44 on Friday – please note that reminders may well be limited as I’ll be NYC regaling the merits of PAS to Bob Stanley whilst playing some records to native New Yorkers…

Still a few outstanding payments due – please get the money in by the end of the week or I’ll be cutting you loose.

Looks like we’ve lost Matt G (anyone know his whereabouts?!) so Dave T may be getting a bonus wildcard entry into PAS CL…

“To prove I’m right”:
Oooh it was a right ol’ ding-dong for top spot this week with the top eight separated by just 3 points! And, we couldn’t split the top two! Ryan Graves & Paul Campbell 35 (6) just nicked in front of Tony B, Anders H & Paul V making it an old skool/nu skool double earning them £10 each. Well done chaps, been a long time since Man Yoo & Liverpool have been joint top…
“Don’t cry”:
It’s dark days being a Arsenal fan at the moment (well, this week) what with The Ox pulling up sharp and the imminent meeting with the still prolific RVP… even darker then for, my-Norwich-mate-got-me-playing-PAS, Stuart Fitzsimon 8(0)…
Correct Score of the Week:
Blimey, very spartan this week – most popular score was Sunderland 1 Newcastle Utd 1 – 29 of you got that! Howay!
The now gutted Steve P & Steve T got Chelski’s 2-4 v Sp*rs and Rowan M, Andy C, Nick H somehow guessed Bolton’s 3-2 against Bristol City. Craig B & Paul V got the 2-2 between Palace and The Scum…
And that was it basically.
Oh, this week’s best correct score goes to Vim Gupta for his inspired Ross County 3 Hibs 2.
Bet of the Week:
The curse is back on as Rob C got it all horribly horribly wrong…

Table News:

“The happy ones are near”:
Paul Vinson goes top and opens up a six point lead ahead of Dave C who in turn is one point ahead of Steve M (I know who he supports now!) in third. Tony B is the big splash into the Top Ten…
“It’s only teenage wasteland”:
Mr 2-0 slides to the bottom with Clare T & Matt G – I really couldn’t be happier…
“The exodus is here”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 34 places is Ryan Graves – honourable mentions go to Steve T (+20), Harry B (+26) and Ian P (+24).
“Out here in the fields”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 22 places is Louise Briggs – dishonourable mentions go to Jamie T (-16), Felix H (-16) and Gary M (-15)
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2013, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the Good Doctor – Savan Arora.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
Matchday 2 results & tables attached…how does Clare T do it???!
And Another Thing:
Belated congrats to two PAS folk for two pieces of endurance that beggar belief… Rowan M ran 100k in 11hrs 50 over Norfolk beach, shingle & woodland paths and Chris B cycled 45 miles from Ally Pally to Windsor in about 4 hours. Whilst hungover…

Still not paid yet?! If your money isn’t in the bank by the time I get back from NYC, then you, sunshine, will be jogging on…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 3 Roundup

“Eating all the morsels”:
This doing-your-scores-in-double-quick-time-and-not-paying-attention-to-them malarkey is really catching on… Rob Currin 47 (6) did his scores, filed them away, moved house, played footy and then watched with glee as Poland secured a 1-1 draw to help him inch past Kate H to win this week’s £20 – well done Roberto, I’ll be keeping that “apple” for the Schalke ticket yeah?!
“Picking up the rubbish”:
A bit like his team, Reda Allam 17(0) swings from the sometimes sublime to the mainly ridiculous. This week, like “Being Liverpool”, it’s ridiculous…
Correct Score of the Week:
You lot make me sick… most popular score was Bulgaria’s 1-1 draw with Denmark – 34 of us got that!
4 got the 1-3 in Armenia, 21 got La Furia Roja’s 0-4 v Belarus and 21 got Engerlands, um, efficient 5-0 v San Marino. Six got the 0-0 between Kazakhstan & Austria(!) and 5 got Holland’s 3-0 win over Andorra. Ten got Bosnia’s 3-0 in Sarajevo, 5 got Czech 0 Bulgaria 0 and 7 got Italy 3-1 Denmark. Seven got the Les Bleus 1-1 v Spain. Dave N/Julian F/Andy C got Czech 3 Malta 1, Stuart L & Paul C got (sob) Russia 1 Portugal 0, Simon Lindq & Steve T got Austria 4 Kazakhstan 0, Harry B & Danny A got Faroe Islands 1 Eire 4 and Rob C & Michelle F got Romania 1 Holland 4 – remarkable… Neil O got Hungary 3 Turkey 1.
However, this week’s best correct score (and how we dislike rascists eh?!), goes to Alex Rossi for his PC correct (oh, the irony…), Macedonia 1 Serbia 0.
Bet of the Week:
Some things DO change! Yep, you guessed it, the curse of the weekly winner failing to win us some money has ended!. Paul V’s away four-timer of Italy/Germany/Sweden/Spain @ 2/1 came in earning him an extra £1 and more importantly, BotW spot prize slot 33rd now has £2 banked!

Table News:

“You’re looking so healthy“:
Dave Crisp stays top for a second week (he’s looking good this boy!) and goes 2 points ahead of Paul V who in turn is 3 points ahead of new boy Steve M in third (still don’t know what team he follows…)
“She needs a little sparkle“:
John Street plummets to the bottom of the pile 2 correct scoers behind Mr 2-0 and his disciples.
“They’re glowing in a huddle“:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 54 places is Kate Hopper – honourable mentions go to Danny A (+26), Savan A (+27), Alex R (+49), Paul C (+32), Sam A (+25), Harry B (+30) and Mark J B (+23)
“Don’t want to be alone“:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 35 places is Jay Hoskinson – dishonourable mentions go to Jason M (-31), Neil B (-28), Dave T (-30), Matt W (-33), Jamie S (-23), Gary B (-28) and Jazz S (-22).
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2013, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… The Tricky Tree – Richard Hirst.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
Matchday 2 fixtures as follows…

Group A
Dave Crisp v Josh Hirst / Olly Osmond v Jamie Sellers

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 2 Roundup

“Ride swift through the houses like blood rides through me”:
You’d think scoring 38 points would secure a weekly win wouldn’t you? But no, Jamie T, it doesn’t. So, then you’d think getting 41 points would win you £20 yeah? Well no, actually, Dave C & Steve M (who do you support btw?!). It’s about being even better than that! Paul Vinson 50 (8) pulled out a fine tally and maintains his perennial record of early weekly wins. Well done Paul, it’ll take some beating…
“Red wine and whiskey are no good for me”:
Oh dear! The 30 second flash scoring method will need a rethink as Michelle Fernandez 11 (0) brings shame to our faaaamlee name. If she was Scouse, the armbands would be out next week…
Correct Score of the Week:
Another round of fine predicting… ahem, but not over here – most popular score was Cardiff’s win at the Tractor Boys – 22 of you got that!
5 got the 3-1 at The Caledonian Stadium, 12 got Man City’s 3-0 v Sunderland and 11(!!!) got Chelsea’s 3-1 against Norwich. 7 of you got the 2-2 between Swansea & Reading, 4 got Derby 0 Brighton 0. Paul V & Martin S got Wigan Athletic 2 Everton 2 and Louise B / Jamie S / Jamie T got Morecambe 0 Burton Albion 0.
Thirteen got Hibees 3 Dundee 0, 19 got that delightful 1-3 at the Boleyn and 14 got Saints 2 Cottagers 2. Oh, and another 4(!) got Liverpool 0 Stoke 0.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Anders Hoglund for his inspired Kilmarnock 1 Aberdeen 3. (Well, they are the nearest team to him…)
Bet of the Week:
Some things never change and yep, you guessed it, the curse of the weekly winner failing to win us some money strikes again! Gary B crashed and burned on his away day bonanza… can Paul V do any better??!

Table News:

“Your tanned hide exerting, the sum of your parts”:
Dave Crisp moves up 8 places to go 5 points ahead of debutant Steve M who in turn is 2 points ahead of Olly O in third.
“…your soul is impounded beneath”:
Ooops! Ryan Brady goes down 2 places to the bottom of the pile two points behind Jez H.
“Abort the nonchalance”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 76(!) places is Paul Vinson – honourable mentions go to Louise B (+35), Dave T (+36), Jason M (+52), Jay H (+44) and Gareth M (+36)
“Weeping on concrete…”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 48 places is Michelle Fernandez – dishonourable mentions go to Kate H (-35), Jack B (-30), Norman L (-36), Rich L (-34) and Ben H (-34)
PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2011 (and pay a reduced entry fee!) you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!, Tony Smith.
And Another Thing:
Not paid yet?! Get your payment across as soon as please! The list of shame will be published next week…

Gonna be away in future weeks? Well, you’ll be able to find scoresheets up to and including Week 6 – just visit the webpage (www.pabspace.co.uk – bookmark it!), download and send over in good time!

L13 Winter 2012 : Week 1 Roundup Mr 2-0 takes any early lead…

We’re off and running (and I wish I hadn’t bothered…)

Champions League people, we start this week – please see below for any details you may have forgotten!

Bumper field this season, let’s not lose anyone!

“Take me away from this big bad world”:
I was with him on Saturday at the Reebok and he called a Palace win AND Glen Murray to score first. He also reminisced about “winning one weekly prize in twenty odd years of PAS”. Well, he just won another – Gary Blackburne 34(4) somehow fluked his way to the first weekly prize in a week of off-key scorelines. That’s the beauty of PAS folks, even championship following fools can win! #hewon’tshutupnow
“And I’m braindead virtually”:
How I managed to avoid this unwanted accolade I’ll never know – it had to go to someone though and that someone was the good doctor Savan Arora 8(0)! #ouch!
Correct Score of the Week:
Not many correct scores knocking about but 25 got Villa 1 WBA 1 making it the most popular correct score this week – 18 got the 3-1 at Goodison and 4 got the 2-2 between Reading & Newcastle. Four got Bristol City 2 Leeds Utd 3 (how?!)
Olly O got Burnley 2 Millwall 2 & Hearts 1 Kilmarnock 3 (show off!), Neil B got Cardiff’s 3-0 win over The Tangerines and Neil O got Dundee 1 St Johnstone 3.
However, this week’s best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to Reda Allam for his inspired Huddersfield Town 2 Watford 3.
Bet of the Week:
We had varying degrees of success with this last season (well, none actually..) and we did try and make it a bit easier to get some money into the spot prize coffers… So, to recap, if you win a week, you can try the popular “Goal Rush” method (pick 3, 4 & 5 matches where both teams will hit the net) or stick to the traditional 5 homes, 4 aways & 3 draws – you decide! Remember you’re trying to add to your £20 winnings and put some money into an allotted spot prize position for those less fortunate than yourself!
We’ve set aside £3 a week from the entry fees to pay for this so let’s make sure we win it all back and then some! You’re on a roll Gee, give us a winner fella!

PAS Cup 2013:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the dismayed Superhoop, Jamie Sellers.
And Another Thing:
Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, please do as soon as possible – don’t make me chase you!
