L13 Winter 2011 : Week 13 Roundup

Merry Christmas!:
He’s had a fine debut season! Paul Vinson 32 (4) nicely bookends his first campaign after winning Week 1 on his first go! Ever! Impressive stuff Paul, £20 (at least) coming to you for those New Year’s drinks… But was it enough to clinch the title as well??!
Bah Humbug!:
Not the best week to get a lo-score, especially the lo-score of the season! Unfortunately Ben Hogwood 6 (0) did just that…
Correct Score of the Week:
A bumper week for many… Most popular score was Southampton 2 C Palace 0 – 27 of you got that!
Stephen S/Andy C got the 3-1 at Tannadice, Dan P/Norman L got Fulham’s 1-1 at Chelsea and Frankie F/Dave T got the 1-1 at Anfield.
4 got Berba’s farewell in Man Utd 5 Wigan 0, Rob C/Craig B got the 1-3 between Barnsley & Blackpool and 4 got the 3-0 for Burnley. 5 got Coventry 1 Bristol C 0 and Rob C got the three-nil at Reading.
Best correct score of the week? Sam Arora got 5 points for Dunfermline 0 St Johnstone 3.
PAS Cup 2012:
If you’ve finished in the Top 32 you HAVE qualified for the PAS Cup (if you so wish – you can say “no thanks” if you want!) and it’ll only cost you £20 for the privilege!
A PAS CL Thing:
Here’s a lesson on why you shouldn’t go out drinking for 4 nights in a row and then attempt to read scores & tables… Group E was sent out with Tony Bowley just edging out Jazz Sian in second spot after both finished the campaign with 6 points each. But if you look carefully, Jazz has one more correct score, meaning he actually goes through and Mr Bowley doesn’t. Sorry Tone, please don’t sack me…
And Another Thing:
Happy New Year! Thanks to all who took part – another great season, please play again!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 13 BotW

Home:

Aways:
Man City, Rangers, St Johnstone, Bristol City @ 11/1
Draws:
Forest, Derby, Birmingham @ 36/1

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 12 Roundup

“I’m very superficial…”:
Probably the second best week to win a weekly especially when it sets you up nicely for Week 13! Well done then to Jamie Sellers 41(8) who looks like he’s timed it just right for a storming end to the season… Just need QPR to do the same in 2012 now then Jamie!
“You’ve made a desperate appeal, now save your breath”:
…and here’s the real turn up! Shaun Backhouse 13(0) has been the long time leader but his stumble & fall at the second last may have not only scuppered his own glory, but also the “Syndicate”, who no doubt pin everything on their very own Nijinksy…
Correct Score of the Week:
I can’t wait for this horrible PAS season to be over… – most popular score was Hull 2 Millwall 0 – 29 of you got that!
4 got Bristol City’s 0-0 against Nottm Forest, Jamie T/Reda A/Jon T got the 2-1 between Doncaster and The Foxes, Martin S & Charlie H got Wigan 1 Chelsea 1.

Bet of the Week:
No rape & pillage of the bookies I’m afraid – Anders H is obviously not Viking enough…
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 6 results and final tables attached – not sure if I’m a little bit proud of winning 0 matches!
And Another Thing:
Scousers in t-shirts – will they have to change the colour of their omnipresent armbands now??!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 12 BotW

BotW comes from all the way from Goteburg…

Home:
West Ham/Hearts/Cardiff/Everton/Charlton @ 12/1

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 11 Roundup

“I’ll take some more”:
He’s probably in 58ft of snow as we speak and he’s had a blinder of a weekend what with Sp*rs & Man City losing! Anders Hoglund 34(6) just pipped Matt W by one correct score to collect this week’s £20. Congrats to the Viking Gooner, he’s got enough crowns now to buy, ooh, at least 2 pints at his local (and one of those amazing hot dogs!)! Skol!
“Will I still survive”: As my nosedive into the abyss known as PAS oblivion continues apace, I can take sweet solace in someone from (dirty) Leeds faring worse than me… for this week at least. Dave Tagger 8(0), I thank you!
Correct Score of the Week:
Surprisingly good predicting this week… – most popular score was Sunderland 2 Blackburn 1 – 24 of you got that!
Dan P/Craig B/Martin S got Southampton’s 2-2 against Blackpool, Tony S/Howard T/Steve T got the 4-1 between Man Utd and The Old Gold, Anders H & Gary B got Millwall 0 Cardiff City 0, 4 got Aberdeen 2-2 St Mirren, Rob C & Craig B (again!) got the 5 pointer 0-3 involving St Johnstone and Motherwell and 6 got the 2-1 between Chelsea & Man City.
Anders H (again!) got the 0-1 at Turf Moor & Dave C got the delightful 2-1 in the Potteries…
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Matt Worsfold for his inspired Inverness CT 2 Dundee Utd 3.

Table News:

“precious few”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top of the league, but his lead has been cut to a really catchable 5 points by Norman L, who in turn, is 2 points ahead of Paul V in third. Jamie S has given himself a real chance of glory and heads the chasing pack only 11 points off the top. Steve T crashes the Top 10…
“Nothings last forever”:
Michelle Fernandez stays at the bottom of the pile now only 4 points behind Ben H, who in turn, is 4 correct scores behind Mark J B.
“When I turn the corner”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 17 places is Anders Hoglund – honourable mentions go to Matt W (+16), Mahli G (+11), Tony S (+10), Nick H (+11) and Martin S (+11).
“Maybe we should try”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 10 places is Dave Tagger – dishonourable mentions go to Simon B (-7), Jason M (-9), Andy C (-8), Louise B (-9) and Moi (-8)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… comedy Cheshire cat – Neil Meredith.
Bet of the Week:
Olly O reverted to form meaning it’s only a fiver on spot prize position 33rd…
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 6 fixtures as follows – Norman Lee & Jamie Sellers (so far the only confirmed group winners) will be trying to complete a perfect qualification whilst Ben Hogwood, Will Oppong & myself will be praying to avoid a sixth consecutive group stage defeat and become the PAS Villareal…
All to play for in Groups B (wide open with all four in with a chance!), C (who will join Neil Meredith in the knockpout stages?),E (Tony Bowley or Jazz Sian or a wonder result from Mahli Gupta!) & H (Mark Fawke needs a big turnaround in his match with Rich Lee to progress).
In Group A the top two go vis-a-vis for top spot, and likewise in Groups F & G. Clare Templeton will be hoping for a favour from me in Group D!
Group A
Jason Morris v Stuart Longworth / Olly Osmond v Tony Morris
Group B
Josh Hirst v Neil Osborne / Richard Hirst v Shaun Backhouse
Group C
Nick Hogwood v Neil Meredith / Matt Gingell v Danny Ashworth
Group D
Neil Templeton v Pab / Clare Templeton v Dan Pelgrom
Group E

Group F
Jamie Tofeili v Rob Currin / Jon Tofeili v Michelle Fernandez

Group H
Rich Lee v Mark Fawke / Will Oppong v Jamie Sellers
And Another Thing:

We can’t afford to be innocent,
Stand up and face the enemy,
It’s a do or die situation,
We will be invincible.

It took 19 years for Pat B’s words to be made real in England’s top division (Preston North who?) and every year, Gooners celebrate the day this feat cannot be matched – maybe another £80 gazillion will do it for you next year Citeh, maybe next year…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 11 BotW

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 10 Roundup

“I gotta hold on what’s going on”:
“Hello mate, won £20 on PAS this week!” – “Yeah? And? When’s the last time you went to OT though” – “Well, when’s the last time you won anything??! And you don’t go anymore anyway you tw*t!” – “F*ck off Templeton, just wait…” is probably not how the conversation between Olly Osmond 34(6) and Neil T went last week – they’re best mates! Congrats Olly, bet you loved that FA Cup draw eh??!
“like the snow when the sun comes out”:
Yonner, BIFFO and now Week 10 duffer – come on down Mat Jackson 8(0)!
Correct Score of the Week:
If only Norwich had scored one more goal… most popular score were the 2-0s between Leeds/Millwall & Kilmarnock/Aberdeen – 22 of you got those scores!
13 got Bolton’s 3-0 defeat against Sp*rs and Dave C got the 3-1 at the Coral Windows Stadium. Erm, that’s it really…
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Stephen Peaston for his inspired new best correct score of the season, Man City 5 Norwich 1.

Table News:

“I’ve got my foot in the door”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top of the league, but his lead has been cut to an even more catchable 7 points by Paul V, who in turn, is 9 points ahead of Norman L in third. Rich L heads the chasing pack and Olly O crashes the Top 10…

Michelle Fernandez sinks to the bottom of the pile now 5 points behind Mark J B, who in turn, is 1 point behind Ben H.

PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… librarian & newly wed – Andy Chesworth.
Bet of the Week:
“Chim-chimney, chim-chimney, chim-chim-cheroo, we hate those b*st*rds in claret & blue..” Yep, Burnley scuppered our 5 homes and subjected BotW to another failure! You do not want to finish 11th now…
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 5 results attached- I’m not even gonna be Channel 5 Thursday night… waaaaahhh!
And Another Thing:
How grim is Wigan town centre, I say centre…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 10 BotW

Last chance for BotW for spot prize slot 11th to earn some money – my favourite Norn Iron Red supplys the bookie beating ammo…

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 9 Roundup

“You know your worst is better than their best”:
Don’t believe in PMA? Check this – “Can’t believe I won my Champions League game… p*ss-poor scoring the past few weeks so hoping for a 30-40 pointer this weekend” Dunno about you but I’m going try that again next week (actually, it might only work for people named Neil) – Neil Templeton 33 (5) cleaned up in an old skool scoring week for PAS. Take your well deserved £20 mi amigo – maybe you want to donate it to me though as I’m paying £42 to go to OT on Wednesday to watch the Eagles with Gary B…
“And when it hurts you know they love to tell you”:
Oooh I’ve waited many a year for this! Jazz Sian 8 [Videprinter> EIGHT] (0) finishes bottom of the pile in an otherwise tremendous weekend for Sp*rs fans – like this freak score, I’m sure their form will return to business as usual (he says furiously crossing everything and promising Jesus he’ll be good forever if He can just cook up another pre-match meal like the one I asked for last time…)
Correct Score of the Week:
Shocker of a week for some… most popular score was Chelsea’s 3-0 win over the Wanderers of Wolverhampton – 21 of us got that!
5 got the 3-1 at the Britannia, 16 got Sp*rs’s 1-3 v West Brom and 5 got Blackpool’s 2-2 against Birmingham.
5 more got the 0-0 between Doncaster & Watford and 18 got West Ham 3 Derby Co 1.
Dave T / Tony S / Mark S got Palace’s stalemate with Millwall and Rob C & Olly O nailed the Tractor Boys’ 2-3 loss at home to the Royals.
Rich L & Danny B gained 9 points from Burton 3 AFC Wimbledon 2, Paul C & Paul V hit on St Johnstone’s 3-1 v Hibs and Dave N (again!) / Dan P / Paul C (again!) benefitted from the 0-0 at Swansea.
Jon T was very proud to get Man U 1 Toon 1, Frankie F conjured up Sunderland 1 Wigan 2 and Sean P (again!) got Motherwell 0 Dundee U 0.
However, this week’s best correct score would have been Craig B’s Celtic 5 St Mirren 0 but it goes to Louise Briggs for her inspired new best correct score of the season, Dunfermline 3 Aberdeen 3.

Table News:

“You walk on”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top of the league, but his lead has been cut to a very catchable 9 points by Paul V, who in turn, is 7 points ahead of Norman L in third. The peloton is closing though with Neil T crashing the Top 10…
“But there’s no future without tears”:
Michelle Fernandez sinks to the bottom of the pile (about time that I’ll-do-my-scores-in-30-seconds technique got it’s comeuppance – ha!) now 2 points behind Ben H, who in turn, is 2 points behind Stephen P.
“Potentially calling”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 15 places is Simon Lindquist – honourable mentions go to Louise B (+11), Tony S (+12) and Dan P (+10).
“shying from trying”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 14 places is Alex Rossi – dishonourable mentions go to Jazz Sian (-11), Mark G (-10) and Will O (-11)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… BotW let down – Neil Osborne.
Bet of the Week:
“We all hate Leeds & Leeds, Leeds & Leeds..” if only for letting us down on our 5 homes acca – ah well, back to normal then! Hopefully Neil T will show Neil O how it’s done next time out…

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 8 Roundup

“Way up high above the sky all that beauty passes by”:
Don’t believe in PMA? Check this – “Enough is enough time to get more than one correct score, here goes… Positive thoughts and all that!” Dunno about you but I’m going try that next week – Neil Osborne 46 (10!) cleaned up in a high scoring week for most (can you guess who didn’t do well yet?!) and only a “wrong” fixture denied him best weekly total for the season! You can’t have everything Neil, but you can have £20…
“It’s time for us to go”:
It’s hard enough coming from Wigan, you don’t need any more grief do you? Martin Stafford 10 (0) props up the rest of us this week…
Correct Score of the Week:
I have no idea how people got correct scores this week – most popular score was Barnsley 2 Doncaster Rovers 0 – 27 of you got that score!
21(!) got Man City’s 3-1 against Newcastle, 7 got the 0-0 between Sunderland and The Cottagers and 9 got Middlesbro 2 Blackpool 2…
11 got Southampton 3 Brighton H A 0 and 4 got Chelsea 1 Liverpool 2
Craig B got the 3-0 at the Walkers Stadium and Sean P got Nottm For 3 Ipswich 2.
Frankie F somehow managed to get Rangers 0 St Johnstone 0 and this normally would have been THE score…
However, this week’s best correct score, and new correct score of the season thus far (for the sheer drama, if anything!), goes to Jez Hopper for his amazing Wigan Athletic 3 Blackburn Rovers 3.

Table News

“If you want to go with me I’ll take you there”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top of the league, but his lead has been cut to a not-so-massive 14 points by Norman L, who in turn, is 1 point ahead of Paul V in third. I think our winner will come from this elite triumbirate… but a certain Jazz S is on the rise!
“We have time (In my dreams)”:
Jon Tofeili stays bottom of the pile now only 2 points behind Michelle F, who in turn, is 5 points behind Dan P.
“I have been there, I have seen it”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 30 places is Neil Osborne – honourable mentions go to Jazz S (+12), Paul C (+12), Sean P (+14), Mark S (+19), Danny B (+15), Matt G (+13) and Nick H (+13).
“We can chase…”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 24 places is Martin Stafford – dishonourable mentions go to Olly O (-10), Clare T (-11), Will O (-10), Reda A (-17), Eric A (-18) and yours truly (-11)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… still the chirpy magpie – Dave Nicklin.
Bet of the Week:
Now this is why BotW was invented – to earn attentive followers some money! This is from one enthused PASer – “Who ever does BotW next week needs to keep my money coming, won another £40 on the 4 aways 2 weeks on the bounce now!”
Yep, Sean P smashed in a 5/1 away team 4 timer to earn himself another £2.50 and BotW spot prize slot 49th £3.50. And, if it wasn’t for PNE being rubbish, we would’ve had the 5 homes in too! Excellent work – so no pressure then Neil O…
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 4 results attached – personally I think it’s an overrated, money making exercise for show offs…
And Another Thing:
A cautionary tale mes amigos…

“Completed my scoresheet on Wednesday night and been so busy and completely forgot to send it, thought I’d just check it to see what I could of got and had 43 (8) and waiting on a 2-1 spurs win… so completley gutted”

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 8 Update…

One game to go tonight – but it will be the 29th game as AFC Wimbledon didn’t play Southend as the scoresheet indicated!

Not sure how that one slipped thru (I blame the, ahem, BBC Sport website) but this game is null & void for Week 8.

Just back from the fog & no internet access of sarf London so no latest score updates I’m afraid – BotW looks promising though…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 7 Update

No PAS this week due to the Euro play-offs and the fact that we can’t pin a poppy on the scoresheets…

This means everything is pushed back by one week, so you’ll have festive Week 13 to look forward to!

“here we go again”:
“Fog on the, um, Tay’s all mine, all mine…” could be heard chiming from the streets of L3 as Sean Peers 40 (5) had the weather to thank for bagging him £20. Congrats Sean, but you might want to give it those more deserving – Mr Moyes?
“…isn’t that enough”:
After reaching the heady heights of the Top Ten, Sam Arora 13 (0) got a nosebleed…
Correct Score of the Week:
Not as many as you’d think got nabbed… – most popular score was The Toon’s 2-1 win over Everton – 28 of us got that!
26 got the 3-0 at Ashburton Grove, 8 got Peterboro’s 3-2 v Derby and 12 got Ranger’s (94th minute! Grrr!) 3-1 against Dundee United.
Seven got the 0-0 between St Mirren & Hearts, 6 got Wolves 3 Wigan 1and 13 got Sp*rs 1-3 at Craven Cottage.
Louise B & Reda A got Pompey’s win over Forest and Martin S nailed Swansea’s 0-0 away to Liverpool.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Gareth Morgan for his inspired, Aston Villa 3 Norwich City 2.

Table News:

Shaun Backhouse maintains some fine form and stays top the league, extending his lead to a massive 23 points ahead of Paul V, who in turn, is 4 points ahead of Norman L in third.
“could it be that time has taken it’s toll”:
Jon Tofeili stays bottom of the pile now 13 points behind Jez H, who in turn, is 6 correct scores behind Josh H.
“…take you so far”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 27 places is Sean Peers – honourable mentions go to Steve T (+12), Paul H (+13), Julian F (+17) and Simon Lindq (+15).

PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the chirpy magpie – Dave Nicklin.
Bet of the Week:
Get Carter! We won! Four aways in the bag @ 8/1 earned Paul C another £4 and BotW spot prize slot 33rd a nice little fiver! The Unstoppable nearly doubled up on his home selections only for the Tractor Boys to capitulate to the bottom placed side in the Championship – boo!

And Caesar’s spirit, raging for revenge, With Ate by his side come hot from hell, Shall in these confines with a monarch’s voice, Cry “Havoc!” and let slip the dogs of scores!

Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 6 Update

“and you keep laughing and laughing and laughing”:
Strewth! A bizarre weekend of scores (even at Stamford Bridge – snigger!) put pay to most predictions this week. However, being upside down must aid predicting prowess as Paul Carter 38 (4) slammed home this week’s winning set of scores. £20 winging it’s way south Paul – Foster’s all round and even more prawns on the bar-b then cobber?!
“nothing is ever quite the same really”:
This week is why we give Mr 2-0 9(0) his 2-0 default score – ha! Not a week to miss submitting your scores…
Correct Score of the Week:
Some fine individual performances… – most popular score was Sp*r’s 1-3 win over QPR – 24 of you got that!
Howard T & Julian F got the 3-1 at Eastlands, 8 got Sunderland’s “Desmond” v Villa and 4 got Swansea’s 3-1 against Bolton Wanderers.
Six got the 3-1 between Derby & Portsmouth and 5 got Watford 3 Peterborough 2.
Richard H & Tony S got Palace’s draw with not-so-free-scoring Reading, Olly O & Steve T got Southampton’s 3-0 at St Marys, Paul C/Reda A/Gareth M got the three-two for W Ham over Leicester and Martin S nailed Brighton’s 0-0 at Birmingham.
Clare T got the bore draw between Shrewsbury & AFC Wimbledon and Anders H got Burnley 3 Blackpool 1
However, this week’s best correct score, and best of the season so far, goes to Paul Carter for his inspired and quite obviously lucky, Carlisle 3 Oldham 3.

Table News:

“and everything looks like a giant cupcake”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top the league and extends his lead to a massive 18 points ahead of Norman L who in turn is 3 points ahead of Jamie S in third.
“it’s time to turn into a frog yourself”:
Jon Tofeili plunges to the bottom of the pile now 8 points behind Ben H who in turn is 6 letters behind Pete B.

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places is Mr 2-0 – dishonourable mentions go to Louise B (-16), Matt G (-13), Neil B (-13), Vim G (-13), Mark J B (-13) and Stephen P (-14)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the reggae standard – Reda Allam.
Bet of the Week:
Oh so close! Again! The “draws” and “aways” went by the wayside as per normal, but only pesky bloomin’ Celtic let us down on the homes- boo! Next up is Mr Carter – get something Paul!
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
See attached for full round up by clicking on the “current” tab (unless like me, you’d rather look away…)
And Another Thing:
You’ll be getting a winter break! It’s been a long ol’ season already so Week 8 is cancelled and everything is pushed forward a week, meaning Week 13 will now be at Christmas time! Don’t say we never do anything for you now…

Pab

BotW this week comes from Dave Crisp…

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 5 Update

“Burst into heaven”:
How apt that in a weekend when Man Yoo have to take some overdue humiliation that a fellow Gooner wins some plaudits and prize money to help put that horrible day in August away to the back. Dave Crisp 33 (5) can now buy £20 of coins to throw at Theo until he’s bleeding to death and takes his clown sized feet away fast as his “legendary” pace will take him from our club – back to provincial lower league football where he belongs and maybe they’ll appreciate him clapping the crowd for 14 minutes when he’s dragged after another predictable, inept, watless performance. No need to ask if you want help throwing them mate! Congrats and viva Carl Jenkinson!
“…smash my dream of love”:
Even his beloved bet-busting Everton couldn’t cheer Sean Peers 9(0). Woeful. But hey, chin up son, every cloud n all that, you’re playing Man Utd next!
Correct Score of the Week:
Man it was desperate… most popular score was Blackburn’s 1-2 with Sp*rs – 19 of you got that!
6 got the 2-3 at London Road, 4 got Wolves’s 2-2 v Swansea and Sam A & Mahli G got West Brom’s 1-2 against Aston Villa.
Anders H & Will O got the 0-1 between Ipswich & Palace, 4 got Portsmouth 3 Doncaster Rovers 1, another 4 got the stalemate at Tannadice and 10 got the 3-1 between The Arsenal and The Cavemen.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to nobody as Julian F’s inspired and fairly obvious in my eyes as the Canaries are a spread betters dream, Liverpool 1 Norwich 1 was some how matched by Francesca F (courtesy of her nan)! Mad…

Table News:

“Looking down on me above”:
Shaun Backhouse goes up two places to top the league 2 points ahead of long time leader Paul V who in turn is 1 point ahead of Sam A in third.
“Seems like there’s a hole in my dreams”:
Josh Hirst stays bottom of the pile now only 2 points behind Rowan M who in turn is two points behind Pete B (like he cares this week!).
“You move in right away”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 22 places is Matt Gingell – honourable mentions go to Richard H (+11), Charlie H (+11), Isaac A (+11), Will O (+18), Anders H (+16) and Julian F (+11)
“I can’t stop coming down”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places is Danny Bushell – dishonourable mentions go to Simon B (-14), Jamie T (-12), Clare T (-12), Michelle F (-13), and Sean P (-11)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…a humbled Red – Tony Morris.
Bet of the Week:
Oh so close! The “homes” and “aways” went by the wayside as per normal, but on 90 mins we had 3 draws in, then Everton decided to score two – boo! Next up is Mr Crisp – we need something tasty Dave!
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 3 fixtures as follows – it’s do or die for some of us this week – eek!

And Another Thing:
Please be aware sending your scoresheet via iPhone or Android is causing problems when applied to the matrix – correct scores are not being picked up! (but we do check, but it is a pain!) Where you can, always send your scores as a Word doc attachment…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 5 BotW

Aways:
Werder Bremen, Tottenham, Birmingham and Southampton @ 23/1
Draws:
Wolves V Swansea, Fulham V Everton, Motherwell V Kilmarnock @ 37/1

Have a tickle on the 12 timer, it pays a mouthwatering 19,862.85-1. It’s gotta beat working???

Let’s all go on Paddy Power and put a £1 on that – we might create a media storm of irregular betting patterns!

Result: LOSE!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 4 Champions League update…

Hola, definitive PAS L13 Winter 2011 Champions League guide has been updated – we’re pretty certain this version is glitch free (he says, crossing everything…) – check it out and flag up any discrepancies please!

Week 5 scoresheet back by Blondie time on Saturday (Google “Parallel Lines” if you’re not old enough for this reference and then make sure you take note and listen!)

BotW to follow – it’s a corker!

Cheers,
Pab

PS – Rowan M maybe floundering behind Frankie in the league table but he nailed a 29/1 treble this evening – Olympiacos/Arsenal/Leicester!

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 4 Roundup

“You bet your life it is”:
More sibling rivalry & baiting is ensured as will Jason M’s standing in the “Syndicate (“Ref! Ref! REF! Sub. Josh H, you’re on son. Jase.. Jase? JAAASE! Don’t ignore me. Don’t kick that water bottle! Sit there! There! Where you going?! Wher-don’t go down that tunnel son or you’re finished…) Sorry. Erm, yeah, Tony Morris 34(6) claimed this week’s £20 in a fiercely contested week…
“This is not really happening”:
Yet another unpredictable week scuppered most people’s scores (and accumulator bets!) more so, Rowan Marriott 9(0) who was left floundering and flapping. Well, his second kid is due anytime now – he’s probably practicing his hand holding technique rather than studying form… Bless.
Correct Score of the Week:
A few, a few… – most popular score was St Johnstone’s 2-0 v Inverness Cally – 24 of you got that!
5 got the 2-2 at the Cardiff City Stadium, 19 got Chelski’s 3-1 v Everton and 13 got Newcastle 2 Spurs 2.
Vim G, Steve T & Will O got Leeds’s 0-3 against Doncaster R, Norman L/Martin S/Charlie H got the 4-1 between Man City & A Villa and Sam A & Tony S got Norwich City 3 Swansea City 1
Simon Linds got Coventry’s 1-0 victory over The Reds.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Jason Morris for his inspired, Brighton & H A 0 Hull City 0.

Table News:

“And the man with the golden gun thinks he knows so much”:
Paul Vinson stays top for a fourth week (will he do a Tony Bowley??!) and now goes 10 points ahead of Jamie S who in turn is 2 points ahead of Shaun B in third.
“Things are getting kind of gross”:
Josh Hirst stays bottom of the pile 12 points behind Rowan M who in turn is five points behind li’l Frankie F (ahhh).
“Thought that was a good solution”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 27 places is Louise Briggs – honourable mentions go to Dave C (+19), Simon Linds (+18), Jason M (+20), Rob C (+20) and Tony M (+26)
“Givin us a yo heave ho”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 21 places is Mat Jackson (I hope you’re sorry Mat Jackson..) – dishonourable mentions go to Mahli G (-17), Eric A (-18), Andy C (-19), Sean P (-15), and Francesca F (-20)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… Manchester legend – Eric Allison.
Bet of the Week:
Shaun B stepped up and fell on all three fronts in quite spectacular fashion for BotW slot 49th… can Tony M do any better??! Will it be third time lucky for the “Syndicate”?
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 2 results below – tables to follow… we’re, erm, still having teething problems. Safe to say, I lost my “derby” to a much prettier face (yeah, granted, difficult to imagine..) and Group D really is proving to be the “death” of me. On a brighter note the PAS equivalent of the Gallaghers had a right ol’ ding-dong but the Croydon face off turned out to be a damp squib (innit)
Group A
Tony Morris 34(6) Jason Morris 29(4) / Olly Osmond 24(2) Stuart Longworth 14(1)
Group B
Shaun Backhouse 21(2) Josh Hirst 18(3) / Richard Hirst 25(4) Neil Osborne 20(2)
Group C
Danny Ashworth 28(4) Nick Hogwood 23(3) / Matt Gingell 23(4) Neil Meredith 24(3)
Group D
Dan Pelgrom 14(1) Neil Templeton 21(2) / Clare Templeton 28(3) Pab 17(1)
Group E
Tony Bowley 22(2) Norman Lee 25(3) / Mahli Gupta 14(1) Jazz Sian 24(2)
Group F
Michelle Fernandez 17(2) Jamie Tofeili 26(5) / Jon Tofeili 20(2) Rob Currin 32(5)
Group G
Scott Harrison 24(4) Ben Hogwood 13(0) / Dave Nicklin 19(1) Pete Britton 20(3)
Group H
Jamie Sellers 33(6) Rich Lee 21(2) / Will Oppong 17(1) Mark Fawke 19(2)
And Another Thing:
Martin S got 6 correct scores this week… from only 7 correct results! Maybe some sort of record – I’ll get Motty on the phone…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 4 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from Shaun Backhouse, he’s aiming to win some more money for himself and BotW spot prize slot 49th…

Man City, Middlesbrough, Crawley, Arsenal (apologies if this puts the kiss of death on your boys !!) & AFC Wimbledon @ 10/1
Aways:
Huddersfield, Charlton, Preston & Arbroath @ 21/1

Sheff Utd/Wed, Aberdeen/Dundee Utd & Rochdale/Colchester @ 35/1

Result: LOSE!

Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 3 Roundup

“I’m stuck with a valuable friend”:
Man, what a week of two halves eh? I mean, we had a scouser crowing on Saturday and then a Yorkshireman storming through on Tuesday! Ou est les Londresners?
Shaun Backhouse 49 (8) really put a marker down in the “syndicate” circles (Jason M, you’re in for another barracking mate!) and came through on the final 15 games to take this week’s £20 – well done Shaun, betting it on the Steel City derby are we?!
“Oh no, don’t say it’s true”:
A bit like a plucky Championship side mixing it with the big boys, Josh Hirst 12(0) is starting to feel the pace and rapidly going backwards… chin up son, at least you’re “Champions League”!
Correct Score of the Week:
Not that bad considering – most popular score was France’s 3-0 win over Albania – 26 of us got that!
17 got the 1-3 in Istanbul, Louise B & Jazz S got the Red Devil’s 4-1 v Kazakhstan and 19 got the Germans efficient 3-1 v Belgium.
Mahli G, Matt W & Olly O got the 6-0 between Russia & Andorra and 12 got Moldova’s 4-0 win over San Marino. 4 got Wales’s 0-1 in Sofia, 8 got (sob) Denmark 2 Portugal 1 and 5 got Norway 3-1 Cyprus.
23 got the Azzurri’s 3-0 v Norn Iron and 13 got Espana 3 Escosia 1.
Matt W got Sweden 3 Holland 2 – remarkable…
However, this week’s best correct score and now best of the season, goes to Julian Fernandez for his inspired, albeit insane, Cyprus 1 Denmark 4.
Bet of the Week:
Some things never change and yep, you guessed it, the curse of the weekly winner failing to win us some money continues. Mr 2-0 (“The Syndicate”) crashed and burned on all three fronts for BotW slot 33rd… can Shaun B do any better??!

Table News:

“Strung out in heaven’s high”:
Paul Vinson stays top for a third week (he’s looking good this boy!) and goes 6 points ahead of Shaun B who in turn is 9 points ahead of Olly O in third.
“The shrieking of nothing is killing”:
Josh Hirst plummets to the bottom of the pile 14 points behind Stephen S who in turn is one correct score behind Martin S.
“ …an axe to break the ice”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 33 places is Paul Henshaw – honourable mentions go to Olly O (+28), Rich L (+25), Simon B (+23), Neil T (+27) and Matt W (+29)
“Wanna come down right now”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 30 places is Mr. 2-0/Mark J B/Vim G – dishonourable mentions go to Tony B (-23), Tony S (-27), Dan P (-25), Jez H (-23), Gary B (-23) and Matt G (-29)
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012, you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… a happy Hotspur – Simon Lindsay.
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Matchday 2 fixtures as follows – a brothers derby, a Croydon derby, a best-looking-in-PAS derby…
Group A
Tony Morris v Jason Morris / Olly Osmond v Stuart Longworth
Group B
Shaun Backhouse v Josh Hirst / Richard Hirst v Neil Osborne
Group C
Danny Ashworth v Nick Hogwood / Matt Gingell v Neil Meredith
Group D
Dan Pelgrom v Neil Templeton / Clare Templeton v Pab
Group E
Tony Bowley v Norman Lee / Mahli Gupta v Jazz Sian
Group F
Michelle Fernandez v Jamie Tofeili / Jon Tofeili v Rob Currin
Group G
Scott Harrison v Ben Hogwood / Dave Nicklin v Pete Britton
Group H
Jamie Sellers v Rich Lee / Will Oppong v Mark Fawke
And Another Thing:
Was Wayne’s dad on it again??! Even after all the viral jokes?! Really??!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 3 Update…

Alex Rossi way out front after 15 games on 32(6) – best points tally of the season on the cards? Sean P & Andy C continue the chase on 27 (5) & (4) respectively and Steve T & Jazz S are well placed on 25 points…

At the other end Josh H is struggling again on 7(0) with Mr 2-0 and his 8 disciples not faring much better on 8 pts (ha!)

Bet of the Week failed on all 3 fronts yet again (boo!) and if like me, you had a few pennies on England, you’ll be ruing Rooney’s red-mist/instructions – from-dad moment and counting the cost!

Still, Mark S and myself will be collecting from Richard H courtesy of a fine Wales performance in the QF on Sat morning!

Week 4 scoresheet is up on this site now and Week 3 round up on Thursday(ish).

Cheers,
Pab

Result: LOSE!

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 2 Roundup

Don’t. Push. Me. Cos. I’m. Close. To. The. Edge…

Woeful week for football (well me anyway) – and it’s “marmite” week for Week 3!

If you haven’t paid yet, you really need to mes amigos…

“I have all that I need…”:
Many moons ago the Board sat down in PAS Towers (original Sarf London innit address) and had one of those “what if..” discussions. “What if someone ran off with all the entry money?” “What if someone actually could prove Jazz Sian doesn’t exist and our scam was up?” “What if girls wanted to play?” to name but a few. Another was “What if Mr 2-0 won a week?” Hmmmm. “It’ll never happen this millennium – now stop worrying and fetch me another one those Guinness & double port cocktails… ” I probably hiccupped. Well, I was right but it has actually happened this millennium – this week in fact! Mr 2-0, after years of derision and the occasional lower-end spot prize win, has scooped the £20. The six lackadaisical PASers (including a Board member!) will probably lay claim to £2.86, but f*ck them, there can be no reward for tardiness! And anyway, we said back then that anything Mr 2-0 wins will go to the first homeless person we see, and we’ve always stuck by that. So, prepare for some YouTube footage of me making five jakeys dance like performing bears to fix their chosen habit for, oooh, at least a day…
“Tell me what’s wrong with my brain”:
Oh dear! We thought he had a ’mare last week but then we doubled checked and it was actually us who had the ’mare! Alas, Josh Hirst 9(0) definitely really absolutely has had a ’mare in Week 2 – sorry Josh!
Correct Score of the Week:
Another round of fine predicting – most popular score was Villa’s 2-0 win over Wigan – 32 of us got that!
6 got the 0-2 at Goodison, 5 got Palace’s 2-2 v West Ham and 6 got AFC Wimbledon’s 3-1 against Gillingham.
Jamie T / Neil B / Andy C got the 0-4 between Blackburn & Man City and Rowan M / Neil B (again!) / Andy C got Sunderland 2 West Brom 2.
Gary B / Neil O / Mahli G got Ipswich Town 3 Brighton & HA 1 and Reda A / Dave C got Peterboro 1 Doncaster 2.
Jamie T (again!) / Howard T / Tony B got the 5 points on offer at Reading and Paul C / Simon B / Danny B filled their boots courtesy of Motherwell’s 1-3 at Tannadice.
Norman L / Charlie H got Forest’s woeful result at home to Birmingham.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Ellen Fernandez for her very brave Kilmarnock 1 St Johnstone 2.
Bet of the Week:
Some things never change and yep, you guessed it, the curse of the weekly winner failing to win us some money strikes again! Paul V crashed and burned on all three fronts… can Mr 2-0 do any better??!

Table News:

“I, I can’t take things slowly”:
Paul Vinson stays top and goes 8 points clear of Ellen F who in turn is 3 points ahead of Vim G in third.
“Please, please come and save me”:
Ooops! Mark Seels goes down 4 places to the bottom of the pile three points behind Matt W & Rowan M.
“I try so hard to be happy”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 40 places is Mat Jackson – honourable mentions go to Dave N (+34), Mark J B (+36), Mr 2-0 (+36), Toby S (+37), Jamie T (+38) and Steve T (+39)
“’Cause something goes wrong once again”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 44 places is Francesca Fernandez – dishonourable mentions go to Sean P (-32), Will O (-38), Paul H (-31), Gareth M (-30), Martin S (-33) and Josh H (-41)
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
We’re off and running (well, some are…) – see attached for full round up by clicking on the “current” tab
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… new boy, Simon Buxton.
And Another Thing:
Not paid yet?! Get your payment across as soon as please! The list of shame will be published next week…

Gonna be away in future weeks? Well, you’ll be able to find scoresheets up to and including Week 6 on this very site!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 2 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from Week 1 winner Paul V – any winnings and he keeps half and half goes to this weeks spot prize slot (11th)

Homes:
Blackpool/Peterboro/Souhampton/Kilmarnock/Hartlepool @ 22/1
Aways:
West Ham/PNE/Oxford/Stoke @ 20/1
Draws:
Everton/Sp*rs/Wolves @ 34/1

Result: LOSE!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Week 1 Roundup

We’re off and running – hopefully no more drop outs!

“You’ll never get anything better than this”:
We have a debutant winning in his first week! Paul Vinson 44(8) stole in to take the £20 weekly prize just beating Richard H to the post courtesy of my new fave team beating the Mackems. Well done Paul, you’re a scouser who actually DID enter PAS (of the 5 dropouts, all were scouse, well, they support Liverpool…) and you’ve won a PAS week already! I bet the bins of L4 are crying with joy…
“And everyone knows you’re troubled”:
So, in keeping with the Gooners feeling the pain, our very own Staffordshire/Wolves disciple of the tippy-tappy team, Rob Currin 10 (0), might want to rope in some panic buying tatctics to halt the slide (and still get it wrong)…
Correct Score of the Week:
A few correct scores knocking about this week – 28 of you got Man City 2 Everton 0 making it the most popular correct score – 4 got the 0-4 at East End Park and 14(!) got the 0-0 draw between WBA & Fulham. 5 got the Rams 3-0 win over Millwall, Sam A, Mark F, Will O got Chelsea 4 Swansea 1, Sam A (again!), Stephen P, Martin S got Toon’s 3-1 and Jamie S, Will O(again!) got the 1-1 at Stoke. Clare T got the 0-0 at the Riverside and Sean P got the stalemate between Cardiff & Leicester. However, this week’s best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to Stuart Longworth for his inspired (clean sheet!!) Arsenal 3 Bolton 0.
Bet of the Week:
Is back! First up to win money for himself and the spot prize slot (11th) is Paul V. Paul will be selecting 5 homes, 4 aways and 3 draws for us to put £1 on each. Bon chance!

Table News:

Week 1 table to follow once I’ve worked out if anyone else is likely to drop out!

PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Starts next week! Matchday 1 fixtures as follows:

Group A
Stuart Longworth v Tony Morris / Jason Morris v Olly Osmond
Group B

Group F
Rob Currin v Michelle Fernandez / Jamie Tofeili v Jon Tofeili
Group G

PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2012 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the ecstatic Eagle, Howard Thomas.
And Another Thing:
Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, please do as soon as possible – don’t make me chase you!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2011 : Final Table Roundup

Merry Christmas!:
He bided his time, let the others collect their weekly wins and then struck at the optimum time – step up stormin’ Norman Lee finishing top of the pile after the closest finish we’ve had in years. Well done Norman, buy yourself a Suarez tee-shirt with your winnings…!
Mr Lee had a 6 point lead over the old stalwart Jamie Sellers in second place, who finishes two points above the amazing debutant that is Paul Vinson in third place. Shaun Backhouse was knocked off his perch into fourth place ahead of Paul Carter who will be a ’appy ’Ammer finishing 5th on 329 points one place and two points above Scott Harrison in 6th.
Sam Arora smashed his brother by ending up in seventh place 3 points above Paul Henshaw in eighth, who in turn finishes 1 point above our Ellen Fernandez in ninth.
Neil Templeton finishes in 10th place, thanks to 4 correct scores (from the unlucky Rich L) and nets the last of the “big prizes”
Happy New Year?:
The battle of the bottom to and fro’d and will no doubt it will please someone called Nick… Ben Hogwood takes the wooden spoon this season 6 points adrift of Mark J B – oh dear. Let’s hope Norwich don’t do the same in 2012!
Spot Prizers:
OK, it’s Week 13, you HAVE won these prizes!
It’s nice to share, Just as well as Simon Lindsay & Steve Tagger are at 13th (£12.50 each), saving some syndicate face, Richard Hirst is at 22nd (£20), Howard Thomas is top Eagle at 27th (£20), Matt Worsfold is at 31st (£20) softening the blow of his mobile texting bill, Neil Meredith is at 34th (£20) and pays for his CL entry, Tony Smith is at 38th (£20) but will he put it towards attending the home of football on Jan 9?, Mark Grey is feeling like Sheikh at 44th (£20), Rob Currin is on the 54th (£20) smug in the knowledge he’s the lowest placed CL qualifier, Louise Briggs & Rowan Marriott are on 61st (£10 each) like a City United, Stephen Street on 68th (£30) is this season’s villain & hate figure and Mark J Brown is at 73rd but in Dubai so I’ll keep it (only joking again lah!)
Bet of the Week:
At least we had a couple of winners this season! Still not really working as it should hence the plea on the PAS Poll (send yours in now!)… Rich Lee finished on 11th and picked up zip for his troubles! Martin Stafford can take some consolation finishing on 33rd between Cup qualification and £20, by picking up a “Lady”, Danny Ashworth on 49th has £3.50 to go towards his £20 entry fee as he marches on in the Champions League and the Missus in 71st can only take satisfaction in besting our daughter by one place as there’s no money here either!
Thanks to all who dared to win especially Sean P & Paul C!
PAS Cup 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2011 (and pay £20 for this & entry to PAS L13 Spring 12) you had to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Sneaking the last spot is… Neil Osborne
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
I waited a long long time for this to happen, qualified for it and then spectacularly imploded losing all 6 matches (see also Will O & Ben H!)!
So, through gritted teeth, congrats to Group winners (A) Olly Osmond, (B) Richard Hirst, (C) Danny Ashworth, (D) Clare Templeton, (E) Norman Lee (perfect 6 out of 6 record!), (F) Rob Currin, (G) Scott Harrison and (H) Jamie Sellers (perfect 6 out of 6 record!).
A big well done also to runners-up (A) Tony Morris, (B) Josh Hirst (knocking out current League champ Shaun B by 4 correct scores!), (C) Neil Meredith, (D) Neil Templeton, (E) Jazz Sian (knocking out Tony B & Mahli G by 1 correct score and 3 correct scores respectively in a humdinger of a group!), (F) Jamie Tofeili, (G) Dave Nicklin (knocking out Pete B by 3 correct scores!) and (H) Rich Lee (knocking out Mark F by 6 correct scores!).
You’ve all qualified for the knock out stages where PAS Lucky 13 Spring 12 will cost you £20 irrespective of where you finished this campaign – the draw will take place on New Years Day once I’ve secured the services of The Kaiser & Marcello Salas now that JT & Luis Suarez are no longer available…
And Another Thing:
The other little bits…
Shaun Backhouse picked up an additional £10 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season (for the second consecutive season!) – 49(8)
Stephen Peaston picks up £7 for Best Correct Score of the Season – Man City 5 Norwich City 1

Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter – and a final big thank you to Dave N for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great season…

We’ll see the Top 32 in January for the PAS Cup & Lucky 13 Spring 11 and those game enough to take on the “cream” – the rest of you (that don’t want to play), we’ll see you in September – remember, spread the word and get all your mates involved for next season!

Cheers,
Pab
