PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Final table round up!

Seis!”:

So, who won?

Well…a stalwart PASer who obviously took upon himself to be more like his team this year – and my, how that decision has paid off!

He even had the humility to let his machine-like weekly performances to the talking for him “on the pitch” and not get involved our What’s App group (erm, the rest of youse are all on that aren’t you?!)

It was a closed, clinical, calculated season – whilst Man City ratcheted up & reeled in the title with certainty & consistency, our champion just did the same!

One player kinda threatened early doors to win it this season.

And one matched the correct scores tally.

But, to put it bluntly, it was settled weeks ago…

Our “Spring” champ started in a mid-Top Ten place and basically stayed resident for the whole season!

That 6th place in Week 1 was the low point of a phenomenal campaign. Week 2 it was up to 3rd, then to 2nd in Week 3 and ditto for Week 4.

Then the horror of a decline in the next two weeks, 3rd & 4th respectively!

Next?

Top spot.

And there he stayed. From Week 7 it was basically all over after a massive 55pt haul cemented 1st as he pushed on chasing down the all time top score in a season!

Unfortunately, that goal was missed courtesy of only notching one correct score in the final week.

Oh well, human after all…

So, be upstanding lords, ladies & gents and doff your (flat)caps to Pete Britton 399 (51) – He. Is. A. Winner!

Eddie Large, Colin Bell, Mary Ann Hobbs, Johnny Marr, Michelle Keegan, Marc Riley, Nick Leeson & Princess Beatrice of York, put your umbrellas down & let the brews flow – your kid done dead dead good! Whack that on a teacake!

Mr B won by a whopping 23 points from the gallant, Simon Buxtonin second place.

Simon’s lowest position all season was 8th & in any other season….

Anyway, at least he finished eight points ahead of our very own Dan Hogwood in third place. Imagine if he won it???!

* shudders *

Gareth Morgan was only 4 points behind in 4th continuing his recent improved showings following last season’s 9th…

Six points further back, CL finalist Ryan Graves reflects on a fine season by finishing in fifth spot with Danny Norbury, after a season’s hiatus, just behind in 6th by virtue of 3 points.

In seventh heaven was a member of the resurgent “Syndicate”, Jason Morris (btw fact fans, Nathan N got the same amount of correct scores and he finished in 61st!)

Continuing a rich seam of prize-winning form, Andy Kelly scooped 8th place, only 1 point ahead of Ben McKeownin 9th (feeling light headed in the rarified heights Ben? Now you know how we feel climbing those stairs to the away end at Toon!)

The darling of Darlo just edged out perennial prize money botherer Jack Buxton, by just 1 correct score, in 10th…

“Nuffink”:

A whole 19 points & 78 places separated our new champion from Patricia Fernandez 248 (28) in Week 1!

Actually, that’s not even worth thinking about…

My mum never really recovered from there either. Well, up to 83rd, then to 90th, back down again to 94th before hitting a peak in Week 5 & 6 at 89th!

A slip down to 94th followed – then the slow descent started culminating in hitting bottom in Week 9.

And there she stayed to secure yet another wooden spoon…

Joe S, Chris D & Gary B made gallant efforts over the season to save Trisha’s blushes, but…

Spot Prizers

Ok, YOU have finished on these positions AND you HAVE won those prizes!

Charlie Harris on 11th, Mark Seels on 12th, Dave Crisp on 17th, Martin Stafford on 23rd, Sam Arora on 27th, Richard Hirst on 31st, Prem KC on 33rd, John King on 39th, Alex Taylor on 42nd, Neil Osborne on 45th, Joe Massey & Stuart Fitzsimon on 49th, Neil Templeton on 53rd, Bry Derbyshire on 57th, Tim Payne on 65th, Sam Craig on 66th, John Jennings on 71st, Will Oppong on 78th, Daniel Vinson on 83rd, Neil Critchlowon 89thandGary Blackburne & Chris Dixon on 97th.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 11 round up

“What the…”

She’s So High: What a week for surprises eh?! Most of us got suckered by what should have happened not happening at all but 12 disciples managed to score thirty points or more this week.

Ric P was looking good right up to his “Mr 2-0” Sheffield Wednesday prediction, then – nothing!

Ben McK looked really good right up to the Macc Town match, then – two “certs” let him down!

That left the door open for James Challinor 39 (7) to rise up and claim the weekly £20.

He missed the 1st game on Good Friday but saved the best til last, correctly predicting the last match’s outcome.

You’re a good egg James!

This Is A Low: Absolute howler for most of us this week – no surprise to some of us that…

Forty-three players got 20 points or less and 4 poor souls didn’t even muster a correct score.

The person who cracked most?

Justin Corliss 9 (0), that’ll be you!

Correct Score of the Week:

I have no words…most popular score was Hamilton’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell– 27 of youse got that!

Nineteen snatched the very annoying last-minute spoiling West Ham 2 Leicester City 2

17 got the 1-3 Gers win over the Jambos

Ben McK, Sam A & Carl T got the dull-all at Moss Rose

Hira Y & Tim P checked the five-point Stoke 2-2 Norwich

Dave C & Reagon K were all over the 1-3 to Brum

Norman L & James C nailed Chelsea 2 Burnley 2

Paul C got the bore draw between Reading & West Brom

Eddie O got Sheff U’s 0-3 deconstruction of Hull

Neil O got Hibs 0 Celtic 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Ben McK just knew Southampton would score against Toon for a 3-1

However, this week’s best correct score and new Best Correct Score of the Season goes to Norman Lee for his I-knew-Emery’s-selection-was-stoopid inspired, Arsenal 2 Crystal Palace 3!

Bet of the Week:

Paul Henshaw was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 10 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

Wipeout!

3 Homes:

Bournemouth  -fail!

Wolves – fail!

Bristol City – fail!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – leaving it on £3 for the season…

James Challinor, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday lunchtime please!

Table News:

To The End:

Pete Britton remains top, but now a surely insurmountable 28 points ahead of Dan H, who in turn, is two points ahead of Simon B in third.

crashed the Top Ten.

Bang:

Patricia Fernandez remains rock bottom but now a massive twenty-three points behind Greg F, who in turn, is 2 points behind Joe S…

London Loves”:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 29 places is James Challinor– honourable mentions go to Ben McK (+18), Ric P (+17), Neil O (+14), Jerry S (+14) and Dave N (+14)

For Tomorrow:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 18 places are Alex Rossi & Justin Corliss– dishonourable mentions go to Rob C (-15), Clare T (-15), Martin S (-13), Neil M (-13), Joe M (-13), Neil T (-12), Peter M (-12) and John J (-12)

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 10 round up

“Awwwwwww bless, winter’s here…”

You Know What I Mean: Doubles are good eh?

Ask Sol Campbell.

Ask Simon B.

Ask Dan H.

Don’t ask me though (or about, ahem, chins either…).

Imagine getting a brace of correct scores (nope, me neither).

Imagine doubling those up to four!

Imagine getting two 4-0s in!

Imagine getting 2 x four-one in!

Unbelievable.

Twenty six of you smashed in 30 points or more this week (I doff my cap <hand covering gritted teeth>) and Clare T got to the hallowed forty…

However, securing his 2nd twenty nicker weekly win with a simply sublime (I said, sublime not jammy…) 4 correct scores, Pete Britton 45 (4) continues to mirror his beloved Blues as his imperious march to a title edges ever closer.

It looks like only a Red or Scouser are able to trip him up at this late stage…

If I didn’t know him, I’d hate him too.

Go Outside: Two times ten is twenty fact fans!

A third of the league posted that amount or less this week.

Amazingly, only one of our throng didn’t get a correct score.

That’s why Chris Dixon 13 (0) finished bottom…

Correct Score of the Week:

Well, I failed miserably…most popular score was Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Bristol City– 21 of youse got that!

Seventeen got the 1-3 City win over Palace

16 had the very annoying last minute spoiling Spurs 4 Huddersfield 0

Nine nailed the 3 goal demolition of Inverness by Hearts

8 got Derby’s 8 point thrashing of Bolton

Six were all over the Scottish Cup semi final 0-3 to the Celtic

5(!) somehow guessed Portsmouth 4 Rochdale 1 (how????)

Danny A & Predictz got the dull-all in Oxford

Richard Hu & Danny N nabbed Rotherham’s “Desmond” with Stoke

Stuart F got the thrilling Southampton 3 Wolves 1

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Pete Britton for his I-am-bossing-it-this-season inspired, West Brom 4 PNE  1!

Bet of the Week:

Kate Slee was on “Bet of the Week” position 11th in Week 9 so we asked her to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

We won! Yay. Burnley home win – in!Celtic away win – in!Boro draw v Hull – not in!

So, £2.13 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th – leaving it on £5.16 for the season.

Paul Henshaw, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday lunchtime please!

Table News:

Always Forever:

Pete Britton remains top, but now a massive 22 points ahead of Simon B, who in turn, is five correct scores ahead of Dan H in third.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring’19 Week 9 round up

“Ohhhhhh…”

Too Much Too Young: It was a right ol’ ding dong for the Week 9 spoils, arguably as dramatic as this weekend’s semi-finals & Grand National! You really had to earn your points this week, fully reflected in the fact that only 17 punters scored thirty or more.

Two of those went beyond to the 40 point mark and here’s where it really did go down to the wire!

On Saturday evening, Ben McK looked set to cap a fine week of correct scores with predictions of Wolves and Chelsea wins. All good then up to the 94th minute in the  FA Cup semi-final then…

Yep, that last gasp penalty equaliser for Watford was celebrated with the same Troy D gusto by John King 41 (7) as the five-point two-all nudged him into the lead.

And there he stayed.

Congrats Mr King – that £20 gonna inspire a new novel? It’s been a long time…

Blank Expression: Quite a different story at the other end of the spectrum this week.

A huge forty-six players failed to score more than 20 points but weirdly, only 3 didn’t sniff out a correct score!

Dave C & Clare T did their best to thoroughly shame themselves in Week 9, but that accolade goes to Patricia Fernandez 10 (0) who is obviously desperate to add to that well earned World Cup wooden spoon from last year…

Correct Score of the Week:

Well done us…most popular score was Aberdeen’s 0-2 win at Dundee– 30 of youse got that!

Nineteen got very the pleasing last minute rewarding Watford 2 Wolves 2

14 got the 1-3 Liverpool win over Southampton

Eight got Hull’s 3-1 win over Reading

6 got the thrilling Norwich 4 QPR 0

Five just knew Wednesday would score against Villa for a 1-3

Mark J B, Simon Lindq & David G were all over the 0-3 to the ‘Gers

Norman L, Richard Hu & Michelle S got the five-point Bristol C v Wigan 2-2

Mark P saw his typo come good on the game at Birmingham City

Gary B believed in Palace. A 0-1 kinda belief…

Greg F made us all green by happening upon Bournemouth 1-3 Burnley

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Richard Hughes for his “do-it-like-Jordan-run-up-and-spark-him” inspired, Huddersfield 1 Leicester 4!

Bet of the Week:

Tim Payne was on “Bet of the Week” position 78th in Week 8 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

We lost. Again. But at least he had a go… Derby to win & over 2.5 goals – nope!Forest Green to win & over 2.5 goals – yup!Go Conquer placed in the National – nope!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 78th – leaving it on £3 for the season.

Kate Slee, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday lunchtime please!

Table News:

Enjoy Yourself:

Pete Britton remains top, but now only 5 points ahead of Simon B, who in turn, is six points ahead of Dan H in third.

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 8 round up

Admit it, you’d love him in your team…

Pearl: After the points-fest on International Week last week, it was back to reality for the majority.

You could tell it was a “meh” week as Mr 2-0 fared very well – so well done to you if you “tactically” opted out of submitting scores this week….<growls><snarls><vomits>

A third of the league clocked up 30 points or more and only two sprung forward past the forty point mark!

Martin S put up a spirited scrap for the weekly honour but was ultimately brushed aside by the majestic Simon Buxton 48 (9) who smashed in six “2-1” correct scores to snap up the £20.

Well done Simon, personally I’d like to think it was the 2-1 at Anfield that really sealed it for you…

Falling Down: Well, well, well. I think this is a first…

Everyone managed to register a correct score – big up!

Still, nine players couldn’t notch up more than 20 points. But who was worst of the “best worst ever”?

Tim Payne 15 (1) – that’s who!

Correct Score of the Week:

Slim pickings…most popular score was Livingston’s 1-2 defeat to Hibs– 32 of youse got that!

Six got the dull-all at The bet365

5 got the bore draw between Wigan & Brentford

Four landed the thrilling Lincoln 1 Macclesfield 1

Howard T & Francesca F believed in West Bromwich. A 3-2 kinda belief…

Neil C made us all green by happening upon West Ham 0-2 Everton

Charlie H was on the 3 goal demolition of St Johnstone

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Ben McKeown for his West-Yorkshire-Police-nightmare inspired, Leeds Utd 3 Millwall 2!

Bet of the Week:

Sam Arora was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

We won! Leeds to beat Millwall – yes!Villa to beat Blackburn – yes!Sheffield Wednesday to beat Stoke – oooh, so close!

So, £1.86 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – what?! It’s better than nothing!

Tim Payne, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 7 round up

Yep. F*ck off Montenegro…

International Velvet: The usual wailing & gnashing of teeth had the PAS What’s App group lit this week. Tales of “just one goal out”, “I’m never playing PAS again” and “check out my 5 correct scores in a row suckers!” streamed through over the extended Week 7.

Love it or loathe it, it’s part of the furniture (*spoiler alert* there’s two of them coming up next season!) and it’s here to stay despite the strong lobbying for National League and Croydon Sunday League Div 2 to be drafted in…

Anyways, nearly two-thirds of competitors scored 30 points or more this week!

Fourteen hit the heady delights of 40 points or more (yes, I’m still dizzy…) and a fab 4 broke through the hallowed nifty fifty…

A whole host of players laid claims to the £20 weekly prize with The Morris Men and Rob C being particularly unlucky.

It was left to a City fan to blaze a trail though and whilst Pete Britton 55 (8) will state his magnificent eight won it for him, I like to think it was Barnsley’s 92nd-minute winner at Walsall that really done it!

Very Pep Mr B…

Road Rage: Quite possibly the highest lowest scores ever on a PAS week this week – only 8 people score twenty points or less for a start.

Astonishingly, Mark S & Mike K managed 21 correct results without a sniff of a correct score…

and didn’t finish bottom.

Newcomer Michelle Seddon 19 (1) takes that plaudit, but safe to say it’s not really that much to be ashamed of actually!

Correct Score of the Week:

If you got ’em, you got ’em…most popular score was Holland’s 4-0 drubbing of Belarus– 27 of youse got that!

Twenty-five got the very annoying 88th minute spoiling Belgium 3 Russia 1

8 got the 3 goal home demolition of Crawley Town

Six got the thrilling France 4 Iceland 0

4 (!) obviously guessed Italy would beat Liechtenstein 6-0

Chris D & George P got the dull-all at Blundell (Park)

Norman L nailed Macclesfield 2 Stevenage 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to John King for his strictly-not-international inspired, Luton 4 Doncaster 0!

Bet of the Week:

Prem KC was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 6 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

He obviously didn’t read the round up either cos he never came back to us!

It’s deffo catching…

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – a good base…

Sam Arora, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Can the old skooler kick start this…?? Come on Sammy!

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 6 round up

“Edgy edge case…”

Hawaiian Air: Bloomin’ hell it’s lucky we’re thorough here at PAS Towers, as a phantom Hearts goal nearly threw a spanner in the Week 6 works!

We were all ready to press “go” when the customary “triple check” unearthed a mistake in our live score feed – phew!

So in a week that was pretty damn stark for most (only 12 disciples scored more than 25 points this week), every point really counted…

All twelve could’ve won the weekly £20.

Nick H, Mike K, Norman L & Rob C should’ve.

Martin S probably thought he did.

It might’ve been the 94th minute winner for Preston, but it most definitely was the 95th minute Sonny March equaliser that did it for Simon Lindsay 30 (4).

Congrats Si – you off to your new ground to watch the “legends” with that then?

Jump In The Pool: Good grief!

Over half the field scored less than twenty points this week.

9 poor souls didn’t even register a correct score.

Worst of the worst this week were Predictz & Danny Ashworth 10 (0)…

On the plus side though Dan, you were only 20 points off top spot!

Correct Score of the Week:

Thin on the ground…most popular score was Watford’s 2-1 win over Palace– 35 of youse got that!

Thirteen got the thrilling Wolves 2 Man Utd 1

13 more got the very annoying, last minute spoiling, Bournemouth 2 Newcastle Utd 2

Six got the bore draw between Stoke & Reading

4 got the five point  Hull v QPR 2-2

Debbie L & Bijay L believed in Sheff U. A 0-1 kinda belief…

Alex R saw his typo come good on the game at Yeovil

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Paul Smith for his tapered-slim-well-fitted inspired, Doncaster 0 Barnsley 0!

Bet of the Week:

Shezan Juma was on “Bet of the Week” position 78th in Week 4 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

He obviously didn’t read the round up cos he never came back to us!

It must be catching…

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th – it’s a start innit!

Prem KC, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Can the newcomer kick start this…?

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 5 round up

When it’s gone, it’s gone… *

Swim & Sleep (Like A Shark):

I usually take this slot to moan about how much of a shocking week it was to predict scores (basically, it makes me feel better about my shortcomings…)

However, this week really was a shocker – for EVERYONE.

Check it.

Only 20 people scored 25 points or more this week and only 6 scored thirty points plus.

Hmmmmmm…

It lent itself to an exciting £20 weekly prize scrap though.

Ubiquitous Dan H, Nick W & Neil C all had a shout right up to the last game on Monday night.

Steve M & Bijay L probably thought they’d won it…

Alas, a displaced cockney Down Under came up trumps, ghosting in by one point –

Paul Carter 32 (5) you’ve got PEA to thank for holding his nerve on Sunday if you prefer, more dramatically, that 87th minute Killie goal on Monday night!

You little ripper.

So Good At Being In Trouble:

Where a fifth of the league floundered at the top, likewise the bottom feeders were found wanting too.

Twenty PASers totted up 15 points or less and 11 didn’t even register a correct score!

Only one though didn’t manage double digits.

Olly Osmond 8 (0), you’ve done an Ole…

Correct Score of the Week:

Scant reward…most popular score was Leicester’s 3-1 win over Fulham– 21 of youse got that!

Thirteen obviously guessed City would beat Watford 3-1

8 got the 1-3 Franchise FC win over Macc Town

Sam A & Stuart F got the thrilling Southampton 2 Spurs 1

Anders H & Greg F got the dull-all at Loftus Road

Me & Rich L got Motherwell’s 3-0 deconstruction of Hamilton

Frankie F believed in Brentford. A 1-2 kinda belief…

Alex R just knew Swansea wouldn’t score against Norwich for a 1-0

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Justin Corliss for his Toon-always-welcome-an-ex-Mackem-back inspired, Newcastle 3 Everton 2!

Bet of the Week:

We didn’t change it up!

Simon Lindsay was on “Bet of the Week” position 78th in Week 4 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

He obviously didn’t read the round up cos he never came back to us!

So, £3 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 78th – it’s a start innit!

Shezan Juma, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Pressure off a bit…

Table News:

How Can U Luv Me:

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 4 round up

Look! We’ve got an app! *

Be Thankful for What You’ve Got: So, who cannot wait til we get VAR? (No, not you Ole..)

We’ll come back to that…

A pretty fruitful week for a quarter of the league as 25 of you amassed 30 points or more (even Mr 2-0 was only 1 point off that threshold!).

Predictz was amongst it for the first time ever (I should ring them and tell them!) as were Danny A & Prem KC.

A few others stalled on 35 points, but a decent haul none the less.

Someone who was thanking the Lord above that the ref didn’t spot Jan V literally standing next PEA for his last-minute spot kick was returning former PAS champ Danny Norbury 42 (7).

That 1-1 secured the 4 points that ensured another £20 weekly prize winging its way to the Steel City – well done Dan. You are the champion of the world PAS once again…

And yes, I had 1-2 for Spurs’ Cup Final. And yes, i’m very bitter…still.

Karmacoma: One man’s fruit is another’s, erm, compost?

A quarter of the league (yep, you lot.Yes, you 26 cowering in the corner!) couldn’t even manage more than twenty points this week (even I got 23 points!).

Two couldn’t even muster a correct score between them.

Joe Shore 10 (0) only just crept into double figures.

The Brummie data cruncher will have to re-jig his numbers if he’s gonna face down this disaster…

Correct Score of the Week:

So, even when i do get a few…most popular score was Norwich’s 1-3 win at The Den– 31 of us got that!

Ten got Bury’s 3-0 deconstruction of Macc Town

9 got the dull-all at Meadow Lane

Six believed in Brentford. A 3-0 kinda belief…

Neil T, Nick W & Moi got the bore draw between The Reds & The Blues

Julian F & James C got Wigan 0 Boro 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Ben McK & Reagon K got the five point nil-all between Shrewsbury & AFC Wimbledon

Mike K made us all green by happening upon Bournemouth 0 Man City 1

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Gary Blackburne for his “we’re-from-sarf-london…” inspired, Burnley 1 C Palace 3!

Bet of the Week:

We didn’t change it up!

Justin Corliss was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

Missed again, but it was a brave effort!

To win & BTTS

Man U v Southampton – won & yes!

Celtic @ Hibs – won & no!

West Ham v Newcastle – won & no!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – yuk!

Simon Lindsay, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Pressure building…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 3 round up

…unless you’re in Glasgow

Good Weekend: As you were…

So for me, it was a ridiculous week for football score predicting. Turns out it’s me who’s ridiculous…

A whopping 45 players amassed twenty-five points or more this week (“hi-five” emoji) and 24 of those went on to push through 30 points or more (“applause” emoji)

Five intrepids crossed the hallowed forty point mark.

In a Predict-A-Score PR faux-pas (see what I did there?), Dan Hogwood 52 (8) smashed past the Gareth M to steal away the £20 weekly prize.

“Our Head of Backend Score Compiling in no way abused his position or breached any PAS rules” said our imaginary Communications Manager (“fuming swearing face” emoji/”rolls eyes” emoji/”it’s a fix face” emoji).

Lost Weekend: As you were…

Back in the real world, 29 of us couldn’t even reach the 20 point mark this week.

Nine got fifteen or fewer points…

Three didn’t even manage a correct score.

One just got to double figures.

Carl Taylor 10 (0) has just applied for the intern role in our Backend Score Compiling Dept….

Correct Score of the Week:

Ho hum…most popular score was Reading’s 1-1 draw with Rotherham– 26 of youse got that!

Eighteen just knew Fulham would score against West Ham for a 3-1

17 got the 3-1 Bury win over Oldham

A dozen got Norwich City 3 Bristol City 2

5 got the two-two in Birmingham. The wrong side of Birmingham…

Neil C & Ethan N saw their typos come good on the game at WBA

Andy C & Francesca F obviously guessed Celtic would beat Motherwell 4-1

Joe M got PNE’s 1-3 win at The Den

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Stuart Fitzsimon for his I-am-Gooner inspired, Burnley 2 Spurs 1!

Bet of the Week:

We didn’t change it up!

Richard Hirst was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 2 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

Oooops! Failed…again!

3 wins

Spurs @ Burnley – no!

Cheltenham v Port Vale – yes!

Crawley v Macclesfield – no no!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd – boooo!

Justin Corliss, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Pressure on…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 1 round up

Proper!                            Pic credit: Joe Massey

Too Real:

New year, new start ‘n’ all that, I did my scores from a position of excellent preparation, plenty of research and a knowing that it’d be a week that would go as it ought to go…

But I underestimated the competition.

So apologies for the lateness of this update – i’ve been in shock. And in pubs.

Quite a lot of you clearly knew what I didn’t…

Best of the bunch?

Simon Buxton 42 (7) deftly manoeuvred in front of the other 3 people to score forty points or more this week thanks to Arsenal’s inability to keep a clean sheet. Ever!

That late late twist nicely bookended the Week 1 theme for 90th minute goals affecting huge swaths of PASers.

If you got 30 points or more this week, you were one of 35 – I doff my cap, you jammy…

So, congrats Simon, £20 winging it’s way back to you ASAP – always the best week to win innit!

Chequeless Reckless:

Did you score 20 points + this week?

Mr 2-0 is in awe…

15 of youse couldn’t manage more than 18 points this week.

Shocking. Even my mum smashed that!

Not as shocking as Senor Sanchez last night though eh?! Koscielny has scored more goals than him this year <smiley face>

One player feeling a bit “Alexis” is Bijay Lama 10 (0).

He crashed to the bottom this week – but he did have four others for company on the zero correct scores naughty step…

The only way is up Mr L!

Correct Score of the Week:

The game is up already…most popular score was Rotherham’s 1-1 draw with Wigan– 30 of us got that!

Twenty two got the feisty Norwich City 3 Ipswich Town 0

19 got the very annoying last minute spoiling (but not for me for once!) Spurs 3 Leicester 1

Sixteen got the 3 goal demolition of Wycombe by Luton

15 were all over the 0-3 to the Man Yoo

Fourteen made us all green by happening upon Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth

12 obviously guessed Hibs would beat Raith 3-1 in the Scottish Cup

Chris D, Reagon K & Prem KC (welcome!) got the dull-all at Hillsborough

Mike K & Justin C got Celtic’s 5-0 deconstruction of St Johnstone

David G nabbed the thrilling MK Dons 2 Swindon 3

However, this week’s (and probably the season tbf) best correct score goes to Tim Payne for his I-know-how-to-open-a-new-season-with-a-bang inspired, Aston Villa 3 Sheffield United 3!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed epically in the last few seasons but last season…

was pretty good!

So,

This year we’re NOT changing it up!

Whoever is on the “Bet of the Week” position for the following week will be asked to provide a treble selection so we can place the allocated £3 for the bet.

The winnings will stay on that slot and collected by the lucky person residing there at the end of Week 13.

Got that? No?!

OK.

The person on 11th will make the selections for Week 2, the person on 33rd in Week 2 will make the selections for Week 3,the person on 45th in Week 3 will make the selections for Week 4 and the person on 65th in Week 4 will make the selections for Week 5 and back round again to 11th…yeah?!

Good.

So, Olly Osmond, Ben Hogwood & Jason Morris are all in joint 11th, but Olly O was 1st out the hat.

Olly, I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Here we go…

PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’19 Week 2 round up

Remember kids, “just say no…”

It’s Yer Money I’m After, Baby: So for me, it was a ridiculous week for football score predicting. Turns out it’s me who’s ridiculous…

A whopping 36 players amassed twenty-five points or more this week (“hi-five” emoji) and 18 of those went on to push through 30 points or more (“applause” emoji)

Three intrepids crossed the hallowed forty point mark, all benefitting from 92nd & 94th minute goals in the Fleetwood & Man City games respectively (“envy face” emoji)

Tony M & Ryan G didn’t see the Ipswich Town 92nd equaliser though.

In a Predict-A-Score PR faux-pas (see what I did there?), Dan Hogwood 44 (7) sneaked past the other two to steal away the £20 weekly prize.

“Our Head of Backend Score Compiling in no way abused his position or breached any PAS rules” said our imaginary Communications Manager (“fuming swearing face” emoji/”rolls eyes” emoji/”it’s a fix face” emoji).

Don’t Let Me Down, Gently: Back in the real world, 26 of us couldn’t even reach the 20 point mark this week.

Six got ten or fewer points…

Five didn’t even manage a correct score.

One didn’t even get to double figures.

Will Oppong 9 (0) has just applied for the intern role in our Backend Score Compiling Dept….

Correct Score of the Week:

I’m devoid of words…most popular score was Palace’s 0-2 win at Doncaster– 32 of youse got that!

Twelve got Forest Green’s 3-0 derby win over Yeovil

7 somehow guessed Newport 1 Man City 4 (how????)

5 got Rotherham’s derby “Desmond” with Sheff Wed

Rob C, Alex R & Tim P got Coventry’s 3-0 deconstruction of Walsall

Justin C got Charlton 0 Blackpool 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there.

Sam A got the bore draw between PNE & Forest

Rowan M got the dull-all at Ibrox

Mike K got the Blade’s thrashing of Reading

John K got the thrilling Bolton 0 Norwich 4

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Dave Crisp for his I-hope-this-is-what-Mesut-does-to-BATE inspired, Swansea 4 Brentford 1!

Bet of the Week:

We didn’t change it up!

Olly O was on “Bet of the Week” position 11th in Week 1 so we asked him to provide three results for our “trixie” £3 bet.

And guess what?!

Oooops! Failed…

3 wins

Norwich @ Bolton – tick!

Preston v Forest – cross!

Charlton v Blackpool – crosser!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 11th – bah!

Richard Hirst, you’re up next! I need your 3 team treble by Friday please! Pressure building…

Table News:

A Wish Away”:

Dan Hogwood climbs seven places to the top, 3 points ahead of Tony M, who in turn, is one point ahead of Pete B in third.

crashed the Top Ten.

Can’t Shape Up”:

Mr 2-0 (ha!) & Chris Birch slip down 3 places to last, three points behind Bijay L…

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 60(!) places is Ryan Graves – honourable mentions go to Dave C (+33), Rob C (+38), Mark S (+27), Rowan M (+25), Alex R (+33) and Richard Hu (+36)

Circlesquare”:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 53 places is Will Oppong – dishonourable mentions go to Debbie L (-29), Moi (-32), Brett A (-34) Norman L (-26), Clare T (-25) and Simon Lindq (-23)
