L13 Spring 2012 : Week 13 Roundup

Thanks again for taking part – I hope you’ll join us for Euro 12 in June and “Winter 12” in September…

All prize winners – money will be winging its way over very soon – congrats!

“Rwoy”:
You have to say hats off to someone who amassed a third of their overall total points in the last three weeks of the season to become our youngest champion ever (and likely to be forever!) Young man, you’re timing is impeccable and I doubt you’ll need any pocket money for a while… Congrats, you’re a winner – Josh Hirst 315 (48). Take a boo son!
Josh had a 2 point lead over Nick Hogwood in second place, our Week 2 winner who just ran out of steam when it mattered – your timing was very much “peccable”…the “expansive scores” ambassador Savan Arora finishes just 1 point behind in third place and 2 points above El Presidente in fourth spot (I had that first title in my sight and I blew it…if Southampton had managed another goal I was in! Like my bruvver told me, never trust a Scummer…)
Gareth Morgan adds to his PAS Cup riches by finishing 5th one point ahead of Stuart Longworth who had a fine season & Top Ten finish, in 6th.
Champions League finalist Jamie Tofeili ended up in seventh place (topping a Blue Moon week!) 1 correct score above Simon Lindsay (good luck in the new job mate!) in eighth, who in turn finishes 1 point above Olly Osmond in ninth (and he’ll be celebrating finishing above Neil T again!).
Dan Pelgrom finishes in 10th place (currently cursing Exeter City!) and nets the last of the “big prizes”
“’Arry”:
You have to say he had a right good go at it but Reda Allam takes the wooden spoon this season after a gallant tussle with Vim G to avoid the humiliation of last place! Let’s hope Rich L doesn’t rub it in at work too much mate!
Spot Prizers:
OK, you have finished on these positions and you HAVE won those prizes!
Neil T on 11th, Matt G on 12th, Jamie S on 17th, Stephen S on 23rd, Martin S & Clare T on 30th,Francesca F on 33rd, Sean P on 34th, Ben H on 41st, Charlie H on 48th, Neil B & Tony S on 52nd, Ellen F on 59th, Neil O on 66th, Dave N on 67th, and Matt W on 68th.
Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS CL 2012/13 you had to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Sneaking the last spot… Danny Ashworth!
If you’ve finished in the Top 32 you HAVE qualified for the PAS Champions League – if you so wish! You can say “no thanks” if you want but why would you do that eh?!
It will cost you £25 (“Winter 12” & CL Group stages) but remember you are guaranteed entry to PAS Lucky 13 Spring 13 (if you qualify for the CL knockout stages or not!) and at the reduced rate £20 – bargain!
Plus, seeing as you’re *that good* at PAS, you’ll probably be in the PAS Cup anyway fighting on three fronts for glory & cash and who knows, maybe a historic treble!
PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 you had to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Sneaking the last spot… Simon Buxton!
If you’ve finished in the Top 16, you HAVE qualified for PAS Euro 12 – if you so wish! You can say “no thanks” if you want but why would you do that eh?!
It will cost £10 (for the whole tournament) AND you will be “drawn” a team that will earn you 1pt for each goal they score in the tournament.
If you finished outside the Top 16, you can still play (come on!), but it’ll cost you £15 and you obviously won’t be allocated a team to earn you extra points… there’s £100 in the pot already so well worth getting involved either way eh?!
And Another Thing:
The other little bits…
Josh Hirst picked up an additional £10 for getting the Best Weekly Score of the Season – 45(9)
Martin Stafford picked up £9 for getting the Best Correct Score of the Season – Inverness CT 2 Hibs 3.
Neil Templeton and Gareth Morgan are currently playing out the PAS Cup Final (latest score 29 – 22) and Clare Templeton and Jamie Tofeili will contest the inaugural PAS CL Final – don’t worry, you will be kept up-to-date on the final scores!
Thanks again to all for taking time and bothering to enter – and a final big thank you to Dave N for providing all the behind the scenes techky stuff to enable another great season…
For definite, we’ll see the Top 16 (for PAS Euro 12) in June & Top 32 (for PAS CL) in September – you can join in too remember! Spread the word and get all your mates involved for next season or why not get them in for Euro 12?

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 13 Update 2…

My word we had an exciting finish – the drip feed of news updates will continue…

Good Kompany:
There’s something afoot – three out of the last four “Week 13’s” an Arora brother has come up trumps. In “Spring 11”, Big Sam emulated his brother’s final week winning feat of “Winter 10” and now it’s come back round again! Yep, Savan Arora 32 (4) has a 4-0 to thank for nudging Alex R down to runner up to snatch the final £20 of the season…
This How It Feels To Be Smalling:
Not the best week to get a lo-score (just ask me!) and unfortunately Nick Hogwood 12 (1) did just that…
Correct Score of the Week:
Not a bumper week for many… Sam A & Stuart L got the 0-0 at Oakwell, 8 got Millwall’s 2-2 v the Tangerine Dream and Rob C/Isaac A/Gareth M got the 2-2 at Tannadice. 9 got Southampton 4 Coventry City 0, 7 got the 2-2 between The Shots & The Millers and Craig B & Rowan M got the 2-2 for Sunderland-Bolton. Rich H & Stuart L (again!) got WBA 0 Villa 0 and Paul H & Craig B (again!) got Celtic 3 Rangers 0.
Best correct score of the week? Not got one! It may even be a first as we did not have one single unique correct score – wow!
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
The Final between Clare Templeton & Jamie Tofeili will take place on w/e May 13/14/15/19
PAS Cup 2011/12:
The Final between Neil Templeton & Gareth Morgan will take place on over May 5/6/7/8/9/19
And Another Thing:
Full final table news and round up to follow – did you win some glory & money??!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 13 Update…

Hola,
Too depressed to even look at Week 13 at the moment as I did “United” and choked when it was all there to win…

Expect full results & final table by the end of the week.

Scoresheet now available for the PAS Cup Final 2012 (so you can see what you’re missing!) between Neil T & Gareth M.

Bon chance chaps – and don’t forget to play your joker!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 12 Roundup

Hola!
Last week then and all to play for still! Will Nick H hold on? Will Josh H storm to a stunning victory? Will I win my first league title in 21 years of trying??!

How apt we end the season with a classic Manc derby – scoresheets back by 12.29 on Saturday please!

“Full of wonder and surprise”:
In his own words he had his “worst week ever” last week but this week, not only has he topped the points tsunami that is Josh H (86 points in two weeks!!!), he’s also gone and won the second last £20 weekly prize! Olly Osmond 42 (8) is running round like a crazy horse…
“And just now I realize”:
A good few debutants get a reality check after the initial “beginners luck” phase – this week it’s the turn of Jack Buxton 7(0) and it’s all but ended his title challenge too – bah!
Correct Score of the Week:
Another spartan week… – most popular score was Bristol City 2 Barnsley 0 – 21 of you got that!
7 got the 0-0 at Villa Park (phew!), 6 got Newcastle Utd’s 3-0 v Stoke and 8 got Peterboro’s 2-2 against Watford. 5 got the 2-1 in Teesside.
Will O / Clare T got the 0-3 between The ‘Well and the Bhoys, Craig B got the 5 pointer at Hearts & Sam A got Liverpool 0 WBA 1.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Jamie Tofeili for his inspired QPR 1 Sp*rs 0.
Bet of the Week:
Another blank week leaves spot prize spot 48th blank too…

Table News:

“Now I believe that dreams come true”:
Nick Hogwood stays top now only 5 points clear of the rampant Josh H who in turn is 2 points ahead of your Host in third as the scrap for prize places is going to be the most exciting for many a season…
“This just can’t be coincidence”:
Reda Allam stays bottom of the pile a seemingly unassailable eighteen points behind Vim G who in turn is five points behind Dave N…
“And my sadness disappears”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 31 places is Olly Osmond – honourable mentions go to Simon Linds (+10), Tony M (+10), Clare T (+10) and Paul V (+13).
“Clouds just disappear”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 12 places is Mark Seels – dishonourable mentions go to Jack B (-8), Scott H (-9), Louise B (-11) and Jason M (-9).
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Congrats to our two finalists who both went through quite comprehensively – full results attached. Losers – the money is on the way…
PAS Cup 2011/12:
The Final between Neil Templeton & Gareth Morgan will take place on w/e May 4/5/6
PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of £10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… Toon! Toon!, Jon Tofeili.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the heiress, Francesca Fernandez.
And Another Thing:
Euro 12 qualification – a clarification!

If you finish in the Top 16 come end of play on Week 13, you will invited to play PAS Euro 12 for a mere £10 AND you will be “drawn” a team that will earn you 1pt for each goal they score in the tournament. If you finish outside the Top 16, you can still play, but it’ll cost you £15 and you obviously won’t be allocated a team to earn you extra points… there’s £100 in the pot already so well worth getting involved either way eh?!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 12 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from Josh H

Both teams to score

3 Games:
Blackburn v Norwich, Middlesbrough v Southampton, Cardiff v Leeds @ 3/1

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 11 Roundup

“You’re making history”:
Well what a week that was! Some absolutely shocking scores and it looked like the lowest ever weekly winning total would be posted! But that’s the beauty of PAS – it can always throw up an anomaly to go against the grain…
You can be an authority on current form, league places, historical trends, stats, logic etc. and still fail to get a single correct score. Or you can be a little kid and get your grandparent do your scores (despite them having to bluff their way through trying to make sense of league tables!), or you can do your scores in “57 seconds”, or select scorelines on a whim without knowing what division certain teams are actually in or leave it to Mr 2-0 to gain you points…
Or, you could be about 10 years old, pay attention to detail and carefully plan each entry securing at least £30 a season along the way. Yep, wunderkid Josh Hirst 45 (9) really put his peers to shame by racking up the best total of the season (so far) and walking off with the £20 prize – “take a boo” young man!
“I felt the world stop turning”:
Feeling bad about a kid smashing you all over the place this week? How would you feel if if it was your son?! Why not ask Richard Hirst 5(0) who managed to make a bad week even erm, badder. One of the lowest scores ever recorded (I’m with the school of thought it’s harder to get 5 or under than 50+ in PAS!), vitriol & derision from his “syndicate” pals (Tricky is the first into the “High, err mean Low Five Club” Hall of Fame) and big rumours he asked Hirst Jnr to coach from the side for his imminent CL semi final 2nd leg…
Correct Score of the Week:
If you’re here, I salute you… – most popular score was C Palace 1 Ipswich 1 – 15 of us got that!
6 got the 4-0 at OT (phew!), Sean P / Stuart L / Tony S got Torquay Utd’s 0-0 v Southend and Josh H / Stuart L (again!) / Michelle F got Forest’s 0-0 against Blackpool. Stephen S / Jamie S / Tony M got the 3-1 in Sheffield.
Steve T got the 1-3 between the Saints and the Royals, Frankie F got the 5 pointer at Birmingham & Josh H (again!) got the bore draw Brentford v Notts Co.
Matt G got Tim 1 Jambos 2 and Josh H (again! again!) got Hartlepool 1 Chesterfield 2. However, this week’s best correct score and nearly new best correct score of the season for the second week running(!) goes to Rob Currin for his inspired Leeds 4 Peterboro 1.
Bet of the Week:
My hatred of Brighton is well documented and it’s just been ratcheted up several notches as they denied Clare T a clean sweep on the BotW. Six goals and they couldn’t even get one of them!!! Seaweed sc*m! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Table News:

“You catch me up I’ll take it slow”:
Nick Hogwood stays top now 10 points clear of Jack B who in turn is 1 correct score ahead of Jamie T in third as the scrap for prize places shapes up to be the most exciting for many a season… Matt G & Gareth M crash the Top Ten.
“Don’t leave me behind”:
Reda Allam stays bottom of the pile still only(?) fourteen points behind Vim G who in turn is five points behind Howard T…
“Forward’s the only way to go”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 32 places is Josh Hirst – honourable mentions go to Francesca F (+10), Stephen S (+11) and Tony S (+14).
“Stop in your tracks (where could I go?)”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 15 places is Mark J Brown – dishonourable mentions go to Louise B (-10), Olly O (-11) and Richard H (-5).
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Semi Final 2nd leg this week- all to play for in both ties! “Homers” – don’t forget your joker!
PAS Cup 2011/12:
Congrats to our two finalists who both went through quite comprehensively – full results attached. Losers – the money is on the way…
PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of £10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… Cheshire’s Forrest Gump, Rowan Marriott.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the Treasurer, Mark Seels.

Both Teams to Score

5 Games:

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 10 Roundup

“Laying in the afterglow”:
The Templetons had a corker of a week – Ulster beat Munster, Arsenal beat Citeh along with, for one, a Top Ten placing and dreams of a PAS Cup final. Clare Templeton 36(6) arguably had an even better week – picking up £20 by pipping Martin S by one correct score and taking a healthy lead into her PAS CL semi final 2nd leg… nice!
“In this world all that I choose has come unbearable”:
A bad week for the old skool! Howard Thomas & Jazz Sian 13(0) trail in last as the season enters into last few weeks…
Correct Score of the Week:
It’s ramping up now… – most popular score was Reading 2 Leeds 0 – 26 of you got that!
9 got the 1-1 at Anfield, 11 got Birmingham City’s 3-1 v Palace and 10 got Rangers’ 3-1 against St Mirren. 4 got the 2 each in Coventry and 5 got stalemate involving Derby & Ipswich.
Norman L / Scott H / Neil T got the 2-2 between the Canaries and the Toffees, Sam A / Pab / Will O got the 8 pointer at Leicester & Sean P / Julian F / Neil T (again!) got bore draw St Johnstone v Inverness
Matt W & Michelle F got Scummers 2 Pompey 2, Sam A (again!) Aberdeen 3 Dundee Utd 1 and Michelle F (again!) got Bristol City’s 0-1 at Forest.
However, this week’s best correct score and nearly new best correct score of the season goes to Rob Currin for his very, very satisfying Arsenal 1 Man City 0.
Bet of the Week:
A double bubble double failure – back to the drawing board for next season me thinks…

Table News:

“I only want to make these things last”:
Nick Hogwood stays top but pegged back to 9 points clear of Jack B who in turn is 5 points ahead of El Presidente in third as the Top 3 shuffles the pack… Jon T, Neil T & Tony B crash the Top Ten.
“Fool enough too long”:
Reda Allam stays bottom of the pile now only(?) fourteen points behind Howard T who in turn is one point behind Vim G…
“So leave it all behind”:
Highest climbers this week, up a whopping 22 places is Sam Arora – honourable mentions go to Mark J B (+17), Martin S (+18), Dave T (+14), Frankie F (+15), and Clare T (+19).
“How many times must I learn”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 14 places is Josh Hirst – dishonourable mentions go to Gareth M (-9), Simon B (-9), Jazz S (-13), Pete B (-12) and Tony M (-10).
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Semi Final 1st leg results attached – a magnificent joker and even better weekly score are order of the day!
PAS Cup 2011/12:
Semi Finals next week – as it’s neutral ground territory, all four get to play a joker!
PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of £10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… our resident hack, Gareth Morgan.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… a Wembley final bound, Sean Peers.

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 9 Roundup

“Don’t be afraid to show your friends”:
Very very tight run thing with at least 5 punters all vying for the weekly prize and in the end we had a shared win! Dan Pelgrom & Sean Peers 37(7) just nipped in thanks to Man Yoo – £10 each boys!
“That you hurt inside”:

However, this week’s best correct score and new best correct score of the season goes to Olly Osmond for his inspired Inverness 2 Hibs 3.
Bet of the Week:

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 7 Update

Hola!
Tuff place Everton…

Luckily the admin error concerning Reading’s missing goal didn’t affect anything major like the weekly winner or PAS Cup results (phew!) but it did affect the scores of Dave N, Rich L, Andy C & Dan P (who is either the most honest of this bunch or the only one who reads the updates!).

Amended table has now been posted.

The person responsible for collating results was told to never attempt this task whilst playing Gruffalo vs Rapunzel and practising phonics with a 3 year old…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 7 Stewards Enquiry!

Thanks to all who have flagged this up – Reading won 0-4 and not 0-3 as listed in the round up.

All full investigation will take place (not tonight – I’m at Everton) and amendments will be made if individual scores are affected…

It’s not over til the… ’n all that!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 8 Roundup

“The chemistry”:
I’m thinking that post final whistle picture of Ally McCoist apoplectic with joy was pretty much mirroring our Week 8 winner in Sheffield! Shaun Backhouse 36(5) had the Rangers result to thank as he sneaked past Dan P to claim £20…
“You can’t see when light is gone”:
Banished, alone & sitting in the dark whilst all others basked in the sunshine is probably how Josh Hirst & Matt Worsfold 10(0) felt along with Mr Lennon…
Correct Score of the Week:
At a premium this week – most popular score was Southampton 2 Doncaster 0 – 21 of you got that!
11 got the 3-0 at Ashburton Grove, 4 got Sunderland’s 3-1 v QPR and 10 got Reading’s 3-1 against Blackpool. 7 got the 1-1 between the Potters and the Citizens.
Simon Lindq & Tony M got Burnley 2 West ‘Am 2 and Scott H & Paul C got Derby 3 Super Palace 2.
Shaun B & Reda A got the nine pointer at Ibrox (!).
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Savan Arora for his inspired WBA 1 Newcastle 3.
Bet of the Week:
Neil T thought he had all his eggs in one basket and that basket with all those eggs got smashed after one game – ho hum…

Table News:

“…is where you have to be”:
Nick Hogwood stays top and goes 9 points clear of Jamie T who in turn is 1 point ahead of Savan A in third as the Top 6 stays as is…Simon B & Scott H crash the Top Ten.
“Slip away and out of sight”:
Reda Allam stays bottom of the pile now a huge twenty three points behind Dave N who in turn is one point behind Vim G.
“Feel more lightness than you’ve ever known”:
Highest climbers this week, up a whopping 19 places are Dan Pelgrom & Shaun Backhouse – honourable mentions go to Scott H (+12), Tony S (+14) and Paul V (+14).
“Why’s this bus taking me back again”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 19 places is Julian Fernandez – dishonourable mentions go to Josh H (-16), Martin S (-14), Alex R (-16), Sean P (-16) and Anders H (-14)
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
Quarter Final 2nd leg & aggregate scores attached – some very close ties! One joker well played & decisive, no joker played that may have proved fatal, a Cup semi finalist crashes out and a Cup quarter finalist marches on…
PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of £10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… one of two lucky Magpies, Jon Tofeili.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the “SSuarez Is Innocent” campaigning, Alex Rossi.
And Another Thing:
Crouch 4 City? Hehehe…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 8 BotW

Bet of the Week comes from the Belfast this week…

Going to go for both teams to score:

3 Teams
Chelsea v Spurs, Barnsley v Peterborough, Rangers v Celtic @ 3/1
4 Teams
Add Forest v Brighton @ 6/1
5 Teams
Add Burnley v West Ham @ 11/1

Slightly eggs and baskets if one of the first 6 teams fails to score, but I have confidence [in] the poor quality of defences.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 7 Roundup

“First I’m gonna make it”:
He was cursing Schmeichel Jr on Twitter but he needn’t have worried! Neil Templeton 41(6) kept Nick H & Jon T at arm’s length to scuttle off with £20 – and all on St Paddy’s weekend to boot… slainte!
“And shaking while I’m breaking”:
Not the best week to have Weston, but Reda Allam 8 (0) has done just that and he’ll just have to live with it! Still, at least Leeds might bounce back from that last minute equaliser. What? Oh…
Correct Score of the Week:
Most had a good week… – most popular score was Hearts 2 Hibs 0 – 27 of you got that!
10(!) got the 2-1 at Tannadice, 4 got Reading’s 0-3 win v the Tykes and 7 got Palace’s 0-0 against Hull. 5 got the 3-2 between The Tractor Boys and The Posh.

Anders H / Neil M / Olly O got Blackpool 3 Brighton 1 and Jamie T / Jack B / Neil T got Watford 0 Coventry 0.
Simon B got St Mirren 0 St Johnstone 0.
However, this week’s best correct score goes to Nick Hogwood for his inspired Crawley 3 Port Vale 2.
Bet of the Week:
Whoo hoo! Another win thanks to the Good Doctor who snaffled a treble & just missed a 4 timer for spot prize slot 33rd where, ironically, his brother sits….

Cheers,
Pab

Bet of the Week:
We won!!! Well, Danny A won and only an inept Chelsea kept us from a bumper payout! Still, we’ll take whatever we can get and £2 is a nice foundation to build on for spot prize slot 67th. Danny adds a nugget to his £20 too for all his hard work. No pressure Martin S…

Table News:

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 3 Roundup

“Keep it in boom and never will we slander”:
Very tight finish this week, so tight in fact we had two peas in a pod (if the pod stretched from Wigan to Stalybridge) that couldn’t be split. Well done to Neil Birchall & Danny Ashworth 31 (5) who walk away with £10 apiece. It’s nice to share…
“The ills of the world make the situation lighter”:
…while at the other end, the sharing wasn’t of the good kind – Simon Lindquist & Ellen Fernandez 13 (0) had a week to forget…
Correct Score of the Week:
No, the 6-1 remained unpredicted – most popular score was Everton 2 Blackpool 0 – 21 of you got that!
Neil B, Martin S, Moi got the 0-0 at Tannadice, Andy C & Dave C got Leeds’s 3-2 v Donny and Paul H & Jon T got Aberdeen’s 0-0 against St Johnstone. Howard T got the 1-2 between the Canaries and the Foxes and Will O got Southampton 4 Derby Co 0. Sam A got Rangers 0 Kilmarnock 1.
However, this week’s best correct score and new best correct of the season so far, goes to Norman Lee for his inspired Hibs 0 Celtic 5.
Bet of the Week:
I’ll leave this to Nick H…

“Well that was a shocker – only managed one of the five :((“

Indeed…

Table News:

“Can I get a beep and a side order of cheerin’?”:
Nick Hogwood hits top (despite his abject failure on BotW – typical!) and goes 4 points clear of Tony S who in turn is 1 point ahead of Dave C in third.
“Should I release the lever, the lever of the clever?”:
Reda Allam stays bottom of the pile five points behind Mahli G who in turn is seven points behind Ellen F.
“We’ll be goin’ up the creek in a great big canoe”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 30 places is Neil Birchall – honourable mentions go to Stuart L (+21), Steve T (+20), Danny A (+29), Norman L (+23), Simon B (+21), Mark J B (+22), Gary B (+26), Mr 2-0 (+27), Stephen P (+29), Tony B (+20) and Andy C (+29)

PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of £10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the scouse Suarez, Alex Rossi.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the ’appy ’ammer, Matt Worsfold.
And Another Thing:
Not paid yet?! Yeah, you!! If your name’s below, you really need to pay up ASAP… um, please?

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 3 BotW

BotW comes from Nick H

So I’ve gone for the matches where both teams will score:

Top 3:
Everton v Blackpool; Peterborough v Bristol City and Ipswich v Cardiff
For 4 add:
Norwich v Leicester
And for the 5th (could be a bit risky):
Crawley v Stoke

This should give some decent odds….

Actually, it’s 4/1, 7/1 & 13/1…

Bon chance!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 2 Roundup

“So you find a way to take a little with you”:
A pretty miserable week of predicting due to mad results and horrid weather. However, Nick Hogwood 32 (6) will say otherwise as he charted his way successfully past his nearest rival to the £20 prize with a lot of thanks going to Man Citeh’s 0-1 at Villa on the last game of the weekend. I suggest you stick that lot on Norwich Nick…
“We knew we only had a little while”:
A pretty miserable week of predicting due to mad results and horrid weather – “we agree!” say Reda Allam & Mahli Gupta 8(0) for obvious reasons.
Correct Score of the Week:
Another round of fine predicting? – most popular score was Reading’s 2-0 win over Coventry – 31 of us got that!
7 got the 2-0 at Goodison, 4 got Millwall’s 0-0 v Derby and 4 got AFC Bournemouth’s 0-0 away at Hartlepool. Three got the stalemate at St Mirren Park.
Sam A & Pete B got the 1-4 between Dunfermline & Rangers and Simon Linds & Alex R got Swansea 2 Norwich 3.
Dave N & Rob C got Hull City 3 Bristol City 0 and Neil T & Nick H got Villa 0 City 1.
Craig B got Leeds’ woeful result at home to Brighton.
However, this week’s best correct score, and new correct score of the season, goes to Rowan Marriott for his inspired Blackburn 3 QPR 2.
Bet of the Week:
Some things never change and Simon Lindq chose to keep it that way by electing to snub the recommended “Goal Rush” to win exactly £0. Oh dear…

Table News:

“To have it all and still want more”:
Matt Gingell hits top and goes alphabetically clear of Simon Lindq who in turn is 3 points ahead of Nick H in third.
“In the end nothing comes easy”:
Ooops! Reda Allam goes down 4 places to the bottom of the pile four points behind Mahli G who in turn is three points behind Andy C.
“In the middle keep ticking over”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 37 places is Pete Britton – honourable mentions go to Nick H (+21), Dave C (+29), Dave T (+20), Simon Linds (+34), Jason M (+30) and Isaac A (+25)
“And we go back to where we came from”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 34 places is Dan Pelgrom – dishonourable mentions go to Savan A (-21), Stuart L (-22), Olly O (-21), Louise B (-31), Paul H (-23), Andy C (-22) and Mahli G (-28)
PAS Champions League 2011/12:
The knock out stages are off and running – see CL2011-12 for full round up. It was a pretty even contest all round bar one tie and there seems to be a scant regard for “jokers” creeping in…
PAS Euro 2012:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of £10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…still, new boy, Jack Buxton.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…Ledsonian “App King”, Steve Tagger.
And Another Thing:
Not paid yet?! Get your payment across as soon as please! The list of shame will be published next week…

Oh. If a game is postponed before you send your scoresheet in, please don’t mark it up P-P as the matrix can’t cope with letters! If you could just leave it blank (or put the score you thought it would’ve been) it’d be most appreciated…

A cautionary tale (part 743) – do not attempt to do your scoresheet when you’re dying from a hangover as a result from your first session after a month’s “detox”. Especially when a 3 year old wants “to help”. And when your missus doesn’t know how to save a Word doc… Why? Cos you’ll end up sending the wrong scores out, that’s why! As you will have seen from my last email, I included Mrs F’s scores (albeit with Frankie’s name at the bottom – don’t ask…) and didn’t realise until last night after the Villa game. Rules is rules though, and I have to take the Mr 2-0 score as part of the punishment for being a tardy fool. On the brightside though, I earned one whole extra point! And even brighter, the fact that Norwich won at Swansea, I now earn £25 for every point Norwich collect for the rest of the season – come on you yelllllllllllllllllllowwwwwwws!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 2 BotW

L13 Spring 2012 : Week 1 Roundup

“Face everybody and rule”:
It was a close run thing but the 0-0 draw at Anfield was enough to scupper Matt G and give Simon Lindquist 33(6) the first (some say best!) &#pound;20 weekly prize – a great start for the Woking viking – skol!
“Forget everything and remember”:
The postponements didn’t help and it was a bit of a random week for scores (not sure how I managed 16 points!) and a gaggle of PASers felt it more random than most… getting it out the way early doors were Craig Burkert, Neil Meredith, Howard Thomas, Jon Tofeili, Sam Arora 9(0)!
Correct Score of the Week:
Not many correct scores knocking about but 25 of us got Toon 2 Villa 1 making it the most popular correct score this week – 10 got the 1-1 at DW Stadium and 17 got the 3-0 victory for Man City over Fulham. Six got St Mirren 1 Ross County 1and three got the stalemate between Boro & Palace.
Rowan M & Matt W got Coventry 2 Ipswich 3, Stuart L got Birmingham’s 0-0 with The Saints and Dave N got QPR 1 Wolves 2.
However, this week’s best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to Tony Smith for his inspired Aberdeen 1 Queen of the South 1.
Bet of the Week:
We had varying degrees of success with this last season and we used the poll to try and make it a bit easier to get some money into the spot prize coffers… if you win a week you can try the Poll topping “Goal Rush” suggestion (pick 3, 4 & 5 matches where both teams will hit the net) or stick to last season’s 5 homes, 4 aways & 3 draws – you decide!
Remember you’re trying to add to your £20 winnings and put some money into an allotted spot prize position for those less fortunate than yourself!
We’ve set aside &#pound;3 a week from the entry fees to pay for this so let’s make sure we win it all back and then some!

Table News:

PAS Euro 2012:
First off, congratulations to Martin Stafford for submitting the best complete poll – it was a tough decision picking a winner from the reams of entries but his wit & sharp insights won the day! Martin will be granted free entry into PAS Euro 12, the lucky lucky man…
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Euro 2012 (and pay a reduced entry fee of &#pound;10 for the whole tournament!) you will have to finish in the Top 16 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… new boy, Jack Buxton.
PAS Champions League 2012/13:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Champions League 2012/13 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… like son, like father, Simon Buxton.
And Another Thing:
Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, please do as soon as possible – don’t make me chase you!
Gonna be away in future weeks? Well, from next week you’ll be able to find scoresheets up to and including Week 6 – just visit the webpage (bookmark it!), download and send over in good time!
That’s it for this week – oh, you on Twitter yet? Follow us on @PabsPAS…
