L13 Spring 2007 : Week 13 Final Standings

Big Cup:
It only took him a year to send over a photo holding the PAS Cup, so I won’t hold my breath this time! His second “scudetto” in 3 years, Simon Lindquist 384 (51) is a worthy winner by 18 points and goes to 2nd place in the Hall of Fame “Best Total for a Season” as well.Just goes to show, you can watch non-league football and still make a mug of your “premiership” pals… well done Simon, enjoy your £125 – is that enough for a season ticket at Woking?
Carling Cup:
He’s struggled all season but apparently has a penchant for early 80’s jazz funk… lucky, as Martin Stafford 252 (25) will receive a lovely Level 42 collection to go with his wooden spoon as he finished bottom of the pile 9 points behind former PAS great, Mark Fawke.
Also Rans:
(drum roll) Greg Edwards wheels his way to 2nd place (£100) holding off your host in 3rd place (£80) who in turn just about saw off long time leader but very lackadaisical Ben Alder in 4th place (£75). Week 12 winner Ben Hogwood finishes 5th (£50) and Jazz “never write him off cos he always wins money” Sian grappled his way up to 6th place (£40). Neil Templeton just about held onto 7th place (£30) after threatening to finish in the prize positions for most of the season…
Close & A Cigar!:
Not a good week to get the worst score as Jamie Sellers dropped from £50 to, well, a £50 cigar in 8th place – nevermind, it’ll take you about 5 hours to smoke mate, long enough to erase the misery of missing out on the money!
Summer Spends:
Spot prizers are – Danny Ashworth, who has his highest finish to go with his first PAS earnings ever in 11th (£15), Andy Chesworth, another weekly winner adding to his takings in 23rd (£15), Mark Grey, compounding a miserable season with a silver lining in 32nd (£15) and Ben McKeown, can now concentrate on his wedding day plans and spend a bit more on the ring in 39th (£15) spot. Oh, and the Best Correct Score (£5) went to Mark J Brown for his Motherwell 3 Falkirk 3….
PAS Cup 2007 :
The PAS Cup Final will take place from 19th – 23rd May and be contested between Karl Chartres (9th) and Matt Worsfold (13th) – don’t worry, I will keep you all posted with developments and results… if you want to know or not. So there.
Four goals in thirty minutes :
In a week of weird scores, the predicting freaks rose to the top. Donna E was up there! Even Scott “the joker” Aslett was in for the £20 prize with two games to go! All in vain though as the underachieving Wayne Connolly 36 (7) finally came good to scoop the last weekly. Well done Wayne, use that money to bet on Arsenal winning you the League my son…
“2-0, and you f….”:
The pack chasing down the title all came a cropper this week, none more so than Jamie Sellers 11 (0). Boo, and indeed, hoo!
Correct Score of the Week:
Now here’s a cautionary tale. One scouser decided it better to try and get a rubbish score and stay on a “spot prize” position rather than pit his wits and try to actually win £20 on a Weekly. His method? Lots of 5-5’s, 17-1’s and 0-8’s. Would have worked lovely but for the goal fest in Scotland…. Mark J Brown has this week’s best correct score AND Best Correct Score of the Season with his Motherwell 3 Falkirk 3 tactical guess. Other scores of note were, Ben McK (Sunderland 3 Burnley 2 – bet that lessened the blow Ben!), John W / Jon A / Scott A (Boro 2 Spurs 3), Matt G (Stoke 3 Colchester 1), Scott A (again, Blackpool 3 Scunthorpe 1) and Will O / Jazz S (Aberdeen 3 Kilmarnock 0).
Bet Of The Week:
Ben H’s selections crashed and burned after a good start on Friday night… We finish £5 down which isn’t bad considering some of bets we’ve had!

Thanks to everyone who has taken part, parted with money and bothered to submit scores week in, week out – thanks to Dave Nicklin for the technical support and brains and thanks to all those weekly winners who got involved provided a weekly punt (even though most were rubbish!).

That’s it folks for another season, we’ll be back in September with a brand new webpage featuring new and crazy functionalities (we hope, fingers crossed!). Your job is to spread the word and get as many bods as you can involved for Lucky 13 Winter 2007…

All monies/prizes will be transferred/handed over asap.

Muchos Gracias!
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 13 – BotW

We go into the final week on an even keel – we look to Ben Hogwood to provide a profit…

An all Championship effort this time… and a fiver on:

Sunderland, Southend and Barnsley all to win.

Will get you back £24.35.

Here’s hoping!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£5.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 12 Roundup

Julio :
Simon Lindquist stays top but his lead has been cut to 10 points – will he do a Man Yoo to Greg E’s Chelsea and my, um, Liverpool?
Baptista :
Martin Stafford can see a chink of light as he closed to 11 points of the “Mr 2-0” taking Dave McS.
Is :
Week 11 winner Andy C is again the highest climber along with Neil M up 8 places to 19th and 22nd – others of note are Ben H / Pam R / Richard L all up 4 places.
Sh*t! :
Dropping down 7 places is the hapless Will O to 27th – the other of note is Clare N down 6 places.
Close But A Cigar!:

Karl C is down one place to 8th – one point off the money…
Spotters :
Dave N (-1) on 11th, Anders H (-1) on 23rd, Dan R (-1) on 32nd and Ben McK (-3) on 39th.
Messi :
Always the bridesmaid… that’ll be me (again, that’s 3 times now – grrrrr!) together with Andy C & Neil M all flanking Week 12 winner Ben Hogwood 36(7) in burnt orange and peach….well done Ben, your first PAS monies – spend it wisely!
Maradona:
He obviously didn’t even get an invite to the wedding – John Williamson 9 (0) hits an all time low that doesn’t sit well on a past champion… serves him right for being T*tt*nh*m!
Correct Score of the Week:
Few and far between again – only the randomness of Scott A could muster up bonus points – all four of them for his, admittedly very impressive, Colchester 3 Sunderland 1.
Bet Of The Week:
Hurrah! We have a winner! Andy C gets us back to evens thanks to his 5/1 four timer – we go into the last week itching for profit – Ben H come on down!

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 12 Update…

We won on the BotW – did you get on??!

Closest week for ages with four players on 35 points going into the last couple of games… I think these perms are right, but it might be wrong!

Likeliest winner will be Ben H or me – Ben H will has a better chance of winning if Burnley spring a surprise tonight.

Neil M will win if Falkirk win 2-0 and Burnley don’t win or draw

Greg E will win if WBA win 1-3

Andy C can’t win cos he’s got exactly the same scores as me with one less correct score – chin up.com!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 12 – BotW

Andy Chesworth is trying to get us on an even keel ready for profit in Week 13…

£5 accumulator on: Liverpool / Sheff Wed / Rangers / Celtic

Should get us £30 back as it’s 5/1 odds…

Result: WON! :-) £0 profit!.

Spring 2007 : Cup SF & L13 Week 11 Roundup

Nice :
Simon Lindquist stays top and looks to have a League winning 16 point lead over Greg E in 2nd
Not Nice :
Martin Stafford stays bottom and looks to have a wooden spoon/Level 42 winning 14 point deficit behind Dave McS in 41st.
Quite Nice :
Week 11 winner Andy C is this weeks highest climber up 7 places to 27th – others of note are, well, just Richard L up 6 places to 21st.
Not Even Quite Nice :
Dropping a massive 4 places are Jazz S / Mark G to 9th/28th – others of note are, well, no one….
Close But A Cigar!:
Ben H is up three places to 8th – four points off the money…
Spotters :
Matt W (-2) on 11th, Ciaran McG (-1) on 23rd, John W (non mover) on 32nd and Mr 2-0 (-2) on 39th.
Outsider :
Joy for a Citeh supporter at last! Andy Chesworth 44(7) was way better than everyone else this week and picks up the £20 weekly prize. The bitter will be flowing…
The Favourite:
There was dancing on the street just outside Casa PAS as Jazz Sian 12 (0) proved he is human after all!
Correct Score of the Week:
It was all a bit bleak this week, but somehow Lisa G, John W and Andy C all managed a nine pointer with Watford 1 Man Utd 4. Correct score of the week though goes to the Week 11 winner for his Southend 1 Barnsley 3.
Bet Of The Week:
A disaster! £30 down with two weeks to go – will Andy C’s randomness get us out of debt?
Cup SF:
Dan R and Mark J B walk away with £20 each. Karl Chartres and Matt Worsfold will contest the PAS Cup Final on May 19/23 and are guaranteed at least £30 each…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 11 – BotW

£25 down with 3 weeks to go – I had this discussion with Week 10 winner Ciaran O’McGoldrick…

“Hola! Que pasa? Need a BotW before 12.30 today cos I’m going down to watch that shower draw against Bolton tomorrow… Are you going to tip us a gee gee in the National? Later. P”

“Alright Geez, London clubs away from home: West Ham, Spurs, Charlton. All to win. I think you get roughly 10-1 but then again I’m gay. Howyat? Goo x”

“You eeez crazeeee! and yes, v gay… that little trio comes in @ 36/1 so a fiver will bring in around £183! I agree with W Ham and Spurs but can’t see Charlton beating Everton mate.. Cheers. Px. ps – Idle Talk to win the National!”

“Yeh, that’s the swinger, although they haven’t lost in four and the young guy Vaughan is out, he’s been there (sic) big player over the last couple of weeks. So we’ll see xx”

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£30.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 10 Roundup

King :
The Woking Swede, Simon Lindquist moves up one place, hits the 300 point mark and opens up a 7 point lead over Greg E who in turn has a 9 point buffer from Ben A.
Joker :
Cutting the gap to 10 points is Martin Stafford – Dave McS must be quaking in his boots….
Ace :
Week 10 winner Ciaran McG is this weeks highest climber up 8 places to 22nd – others of note are Anders H (+7) and Stephen P/Karl C (+4).
Jack :
Dropping large is Matt G down 6 places to 26th followed by far too many to mention players who all dropped 3 places…
Close But A Cigar!:
Neil T is up one place to 8th – three correct scores off the money…
Spotters :
Ben H (-1) on 11th, Steve T (non mover) on 23rd, John W (-1) on 32nd and Wayne C (-1) on 39th.
Play Up Pompey:
Bejaysus! Our sole representative in Eire, Ciaran McGoldrick 35 (6) scoops up this weeks euros and holds off Simon L winning two consecutive weeks. Well done Ciaran, the white pudding is on you!
Playing UEFA Cup football:
His team did him proud this week, but Matt Worsfold 10 (0) can out his chin right back down again after this Elm’s Street….
Correct Score of the Week:
Pam R & my good self got Man City 0 Charlton 0, Ciaran Mc G & Scott A got Wigan 1 Bolton 3 and Karl C & Simon L got Blackpool 3 Tranmere 2. Correct score of the week and new best of season goes to Julian Fernandez for his partisan Portsmouth 2 Man Utd 1.
Bet Of The Week:
I deliberately steered clear of this as I knew the Arsenal would lose their unbeaten home record to W Ham (go on, check my scores!) and alas, the goalless Gooners turned out to be the weak link in the chain….we are now £25 down with three weeks to go – over to the panel in Dublin for next weeks selection(s).

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 10 – BotW

We halved our deficit to £20 last week courtesy of Mark J B – next up to take us into profit is Simon Lindquist…

Bet of the Week, done in a rush, is: Home wins for Chelsea, Arsenal, Middlesbro’, Sunderland and Celtic.

Goodness knows what odds you get on that combo… I’m afraid I’ll leave you to find out.

Delegate! Can tell you’re a manager Simon!

Odds on that little lot are around 7.75-1 meaning you’ll grab back about £43.00 (inc stake) from the bookie.

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£25.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 9 Roundup

Higher Than The Sun :
We have a new leader – Welsh wunderkid (and obviously a Liverpool fan!) Greg Edwards moves up three places to move one point clear of Simon L. Jazz S, ominously, is only 2 points off top slot in 3rd…
Damaged :
He only scored 16(1) this week and now Martin Stafford finds himself eleven points behind Dave McS – surely he has one hand on the Spoon…
Movin’ On Up :
Unsurprisingly, Simon L is this weeks highest climber – up six places to 2nd – fellow progressors are Clare N / Pam R / Stephen P up four places to 14th / 19th / 22nd respectively and Neil M up five places to 29th.
I’m Comin’ Down :
Falling furthest is Gary B down six places to 25th – other losers are Matt W and Mark J B down four places to 6th and 13th.
Close But A Cigar! :
Me! me! me! Up two places to 8th – two points off the money…
Spotters :
Karl C (+3) on 11th, Steve T (+2) on 23rd, Michelle F (+3) on 32nd and Donna E (-1) on 39th.
Good Goals For A Circus Freak:
He needed a draw and got a correct score to boot – Simon Lindquist 42 (6) was just clear of Karl C and takes this week’s £20 prize. Well done Simon, perhaps you’ll be able to afford to get your film developed and eventually send over that picture of you with the PAS trophy?
Julio Baptista:
Languishing a long way behind this week was Ben McKeown 15 (1) who has now brought another week of shame on the town of Darlo… tut tut.
Correct Score of the Week:
A lot of you got the MonkeyHangers’ 3-0 on Friday night, Donna E / Mark G / Clare N got the BlueNoses’ 3-0 on Sunday and Lisa G / Wayne C got the TractorBoys’ 3-0 on Saturday. This week’s best correct score though is for Scott A’s Man Yoo 4 Blackeye Rovers 1.
Bet Of The Week:
Hooray! Hooray! Hooraaaay! Mark J B’s treble came up trumps and halves our deficit to -£20.00. I forgot to back it though – boooooo! Next up is Simon L, who may use his knowledge of the Conference to give us a Happy Easter….

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 9 – BotW

Depending on who you followed last week (you lucky boy Matt G!) you’ll be £40 down or even stevens – we’ll take the official route and say we followed the ’Ammer last week and are currently out of pocket.

Last week’s robber of the weekly prize was Mark J Brown – here’s his rather conservative, yet sensible selections (slowly slowy catchy monkey n all that…)

£5 Treble Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea = £20

Result: WON! :-) Down -£20.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 8 Roundup

BST :
He sent his scores this week, but Ben Alder is now only two points clear at the top from Matt W.
GMT :
Slipping down two places to the bottom is Martin Stafford – two points away from Dave McSherry…
Lighter :
Highest climbers this week are Mark J Brown 9th (+7), Will Oppong 16th (+7) & Mark Grey 20th (+7) – also springing up are me 10th (+5), Clare N 18th (+6), Stephen P 26th (+6) and Ciaran McG 29th (+6).
Darker :
Furthest faller is Julian Fernandez 33rd (-7) – also withering are Gary B 19th (-5), Olly O 22nd (-6), Steve Tagger 25th (-5), John Williamson 28th (-6) and Neil M 34th (-6).
Close But A Cigar! :
Simon L goes down 3 places to 8th – 1 point off the money…
Spotters :
Neil B (-2) on 11th, Pam R (-4) on 23rd, Andy C (-2) on 32nd and Scott A (+3) on 39th.
David Healey:
Surely when you’ve racked up 46(7) points you’re gonna win the weekly prize??! Unfortunately not this week as Blackpool’s last minute goal denied another 3 points to condemn me to another last gasp runner’s up spot and landed the £20 into Mark J Brown’s 47(7) lap. Booooooo! Well done Scouse, the winnings should keep you in Chang at the game for a good few weeks to come…
Wayne Rooney:
After a spate of high achievers getting all cocky and not submitting scores, it was the turn of the bottom feeders to have a go. Mr 2-0 13(1) duly obliged and kept them firmly in their place!
Correct Score of the Week:
A bumper week after the recent barren run – loads of you got Nottm Forest 3-0 and Slovakia 1-3, Will O / Lisa G / Dave N got Albania 0-0, Dan R & Ben H got Poland’s 5-0 (ask Clare N about that one!), Ciaran McG got Blackpool’s aforementioned 1-3, I got Portugal’s sparkling 4-0 against Belgium and England’s flat 0-0 with Israel, but Correct Score of the Week and new Best of the Season is Lisa Grey, for her “lucky last minute” Liechtenstein 1 Norn Iron 4.
Bet Of The Week:
Matt W gave us a 7-fold and true to form this season it failed to come in and leaves us £40 down. However, if you followed my patriotic (of sorts) Iberico-Celtic 5 timer you would be breaking even as we speak as it paid back between £40 and £50 (depending where you bet) for a £5 stake. Yes, I am ace.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 8 – BotW

No word back from last week’s jammy winner Matt W as yet, so I’ll put up a substitute acca if he fails to shout up (Matt, do a “reply all” with your flutter before 1pm tomorrow me ol’ china!)

We’re £35 down so I’ll go for rootsy Celt/Iberian flavour to win us around £50…

A “lady” on the following then:

Eire / Scotland / N Ireland / Portugal / Spain

I’ll be in Belfast this weekend after-dinner speaking (slurring) at the Nor’n Ireland Branch “near-the-end-of-the-season-few-scoops” session hosted by the PAS “Posh & Becks”, Clare N & Neil T.

If the results are late on Monday, you now know why…

…and then…

…and now for my bet of the week:

£5 on My Lucky Seven Accumulator: Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Poland, Slovakia and Croatia

Have a good un

Matt

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£40.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 7 Roundup

Hot :
He (and 3 others in the Top Ten!) didn’t send in any scores, but Ben Alder is still out front with a 12 point lead over Neil T and Matt W…
Cold :
He always sends in scores (early and clearly mental), but Scott Aslett is now in the wooden spoon position, one point away from Martin S…
Warm :
Yours truly climbed highest (scant reward!) this week up 10 places to 15th – others of note are Matt W (+5), Lisa G (+6), Danny A (+6) and Richard L (+5).
Tepid :
No surprises as Stephen P falls the furthest, down 10 places to 32nd – others of note are Matt G (-4), Will O (-4) and Michelle F (-7).
Close But A Cigar! :
Jamie S got knocked out the Cup and slid 2 places to 8th – 9 points off the money…
Spotters :
Lisa G (+6) on 11th, Will O (-4) on 23rd, Stephen P (-10) on 32nd and Wayne C (+3) on 39th.
Ireland CC:
Not only did I have to endure sitting in the 80’s football museum that is Goodison Park (good ol’ restrcted views, cosy seats, queuing 45 mins for a badly poured pint… I won’t even begin about a the “scouse pie”, the “atmosphere” and parking charges in Stanley Park) freezing to death watching Arsene’s young dream team turn increasingly into that other lauded batch of youngsters, Crystal Palace 1979-80, but I had the ignominy of seeing AJ smash home the only goal that could deny me the weekly prize. In the last minute. Nice. This weeks weekly winner then, is ’Appy ’Ammer Matt Worsfold 35 (5) – well done Matty, it didn’t all go your way this week, but fill yer boots with boiled beef and cabbage and treat yourself to some new buttons for that silly jacket you insist on wearing…
Freddie Flintoff:
It’s quite nice when you see your own experiences mirrored for a northerner – his team is rubbish, can’t score and also out of Europe, Stephen Peaston’s 12 (0) week just a whole lot worse…
Correct Score of the Week:
This week’s winner had a lot to thank for his Stockport 3 Hartlepool 3 ten pointer and it looked like he had the “Best Correct Score of the Season” in the bag until Neil T came along! Amazing! Loads got Chelsea and Spurs (mostly together) and Danny A & Neil m got Derby 3 Cardiff 1. Best score, just to make me feel better, goes to me for my certainty on Charlton 2 Toon 0.
Bet Of The Week:
Palace boy Dan R failed us and became the seventh person to do so – we are now £35 down and looking for a miracle now to break even. Matt W is next up – can he pull another 3-3 out of the bag??

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 7 – BotW

£30 down, we now look to a Palace supporter to bail us out – let me put it this way, they’re an optimistic bunch…

A cheeky treble: Palace, Leeds and Everton to win!!!

£5 on will net around £199.00 (inc stake).

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£35.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 6 Roundup

Up:
Non mover Ben Alder stays top and extends his lead is to thirteen points from Simon L in second – bear in mind neither of these two sent scores in this week!
Down :
Wayne Connolly slips quietly to the bottom, but only two points away from Martin S
Around :
Highest climber this week is Julian Fernandez (+9) to 24th – other movers of note are Matt G (+7), Pam R (+7) and Lisa G (+8).
Gone :
Fallers of the week are Stephen Peaston, Mark Grey, Andy Chesworth and Ciaran McGoldrick all down 7 places to 13th, 26th, 34th and 37th respectively.
Close But A Cigar! :
Matt W stays put 4 points from money and 2 from oblivion.
Spotters :
Karl C (+1) on 11th, Clare N (-6) on 23rd, Dan R (+5) on 32nd and Dave McS (+3) on 39th.
Drinking & staying out late with LCD :
Another close week and another Daniel taking the prize….by way of keeping a whole hosts of potentials (including Mr 2-0) at bay thanks to a bumper 12 points from Sunday’s matches – step up Dan Rayner 35 (6) collect your £20. Spend it wisely Danny boy or chip into the Simon Jordan “haircut” fund….
Hangovers at christenings:
His team couldn’t win the league this weekend and they couldn’t even beat Rangers either. And, Ciaran McGoldrick 11 (0) couldn’t get any worse (unless he was actually Neil Lennon of course…)
Correct Score of the Week:
A sparsity of bonus points prevailed again – only Scott A and Donna E managed it by guessing that Stockport would actually let in 3 goals, let alone one, for the first time in ten matches. This weeks best correct score goes to Pam Riding who bitterly predicted Man Yoo would draw 2-2 at the Riverside.
Bet Of The Week:
Let’s face it, we’re never gonna win any money are we??! Danny A crashed and burned with his acca and we now look to Dan R to get us out of the £30 shaped mire we are well and truly stuck in.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 6 – BotW

Currently £25 down, we turn to the Derbyshire hills where “locals” openly spend their ill gotten gains in the local butchers…

Hola, this weeks bets will comprise of:

  • Man Utd win @ 8/13
  • Sunderland win @ 4/5
  • Sheff Wed win @ 8/5
  • Scunthorpe win @ 11/10
  • Rochdale win @ 11/8

That little scoop will bring in £188.53 if £5’s is placed at your local Ladbrokes, happy betting peeps.

Thanks Danny A – we hope you’re a winner!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£30.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 5

Hot :
Non mover Ben Alder stays top but his lead is cut to two points by Neil T who himself has a eight point gap to Greg E in third.
Cold :
Swapping places with Scott A is Dave McSherry who finds himself floundering five points from the salvation of humilation and a Level 42 box set…
Warming Up :
Unsurprsingly Danny Ashworth is the highest climber, up ten places to 21st – others moving the right way are Karl C (+6), Gary B (+8), Matt G (+6) and Anders H (+6)
Cooling Down :
Choosing the wrong week to hand his scores to Mr 2-0 was Neil Meredith, down twelve places to 26th – others moving the wrong way are Mark G (-9), Lisa G (-8), Richard L (-8) and Mark F (-6)
Close But A Cigar! :
Down one place to 7th goes Matt W.
Spotters :
Neil B (+5) on 11th, Pam R (+5) on 23rd, Anders H (+6) on 32nd and Mr 2-0 (-4) on 39th.
nang! :
The closest week for years with just four points separating the top ten scores – this weeks winner with a very very impressive 23 correct results from thirty games is Danny Ashworth 35(4). £20 then, and the landlords of StalyVegas watering holes are pulling pints as we speak…
meh :
Mr 2-0 had a shocker but Mark Grey 12 (0) had a “City”.
Correct Score of the Week:
Even less captures than last week! Scott A and Ben A somehow guessed “1-0” Wolves would win 2-3 at Luton and Ben McKeown obviously know that Barnsley 1 Norwich 3 was a cert. Or he wouldn’t have put it down would he?
Bet Of The Week:
When a basement team beats the league leaders 0-3 away you know it’s not a good week to bet. Dave N’s acca fell foul of the Scottish curse and we now find ourselves £25 down (well, I am). lets hope Danny A can drag himself away from the bright lights and two-for-ones and come up with a winner.
PAS Cup :
It’s Cup week again – all quarter finalists will win money. I say it’s all about the League…

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 5 – BotW

Has anyone been following the selections each week? Feeling a a bit peeved you’re £20 out of pocket? Help is at hand!

Week 4 winner and PAS Board member Dave Nicklin has done his number crunching, form guide study and selected the following with the shiniest pin he could find…

So as not to miss out on the winnings this time, my fiver is already on, here goes….

Gretna vs Queen of the South
Gretna @ 1/3
Celtic vs Dunfermline
Celtic @ 1/7
Port Vale vs Yeovil
Yeovil @ 7/5
Bristol City vs Northampton
Bristol City @ 4/7
Brentford vs Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe @ 11/10
Nottingham Forest vs Huddersfield
Nottingham Forest @ 4/6

Accumulator Potential Return: £100.57

Couldn’t resist Top Vs Bottom in Scots Prem/Div1, but I bottled Brechin to beat Forfar – otherwise it would’ve been a £180+ return!

Good luck!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£25.

Spring 2007 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 4 Roundup

Nu Rave :
Up one place with a 4 point lead is Ben Alder but Dave N and Neil T are on his shoulder…
(Un)Happy Hardcore :

Down two places to 42nd goes Scott Aslett but only one point away from Dave McS – “living it up, living it up” he ain’t..
Progessive House :
Highest climber this week is Ben H (+12) to 11th – props to Dave N (+8), Richard L / Dan R (+5) and Matt G (+7)
Downbeat :
Furthest faller this week is Julian F (-12) to 29th – disses to Neil B / Steve T (-5), Gary B (-7) and Wayne C (-6)
Close But A Cigar! :
Down 3 places to 8th goes Greg E
Spotters :
Ben H (+12) on 11th, John W (-3) on 23rd, Michelle F (-2) on 32nd and Ben McK (no change) on 39th.
TC :
Cries for a “stewards!” will be ringing round the league as Dave Nicklin 40 (6) just nudged past Ben H to claim this week’s £20 prize. Remember, it’s Dave who invented the “score marking” matrix ; ) Dave is the 2nd Geordie to win a weekly and will no doubt spend it in Mrs Greggs near Fenwicks…
Rob Hulse’s Chinese Cat :
It’s a long way back from Oz, and he probably wishes he’d stayed there now – Scott Aslett 13 (1) is probably bbqing his scoresheet as we speak.
Correct Score of the Week:
Few and far between – Lisa G, Matt W and Dave N got the big Sheff Wed 3-2 and Clare N got Everton’s0-3. This weeks accolade goes to Neil T for his Liverpool 4 Sheff Utd 0….
Bet Of The Week:
…and what a shame he didn’t lump the fiver on that score cos his 4-fold fell when W Ham capitulated at Charlton. We are now down a score and need Dave Nicklin to pull out a similar plum to last year when he won us around £80!
PAS Cup 2nd Round Replay:
Dan Rayner (joker: Hibs 2pts) eases past Dave McSherry and into the Quarter Finals…
Ties to be played on weekend 10/11th March 2007.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 4 – BotW

Currently in Elgin City-esque form, our “tipsters” have put us in a position where we’re £15 down – next up is Neil “templegate” Templeton…

I will go for a fiver on a quad accumulator: United, Liverpool, Everton & West Ham. Sky bet pays £60 – odd

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£20.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 3 Roundup

Leader of the Pack :
Vrooom! Vrooom! Neil Templeton (+8) moves 1 point ahead of Week 1 winner Ben A and 5 ahead of Simon L in third.
Flatpack :
Already 53 points off top spot is Donna Edmead (non mover) who is now just 1 point from Dave McS and 2 from Scott A at the bottom Packed Up : Highest climber, after his shocker last week, is Julian F (+14) to 17th – others of note are the leader (see above), Neil B (+7) on 11th, Will O (+9) on 19th and Lisa G (+11) on 21st.
Packed In :
Where one brother leads the other will follow – Danny Ashworth (-14) slips down to 29th – shamed faces also for Neil M / Week 2 winner Stephen P (-8) on 13th/14th respectively, Richard L (-9) on 25th, Michelle F (-7) on 30th and Mr 2-0 (-10) on 35th – good!
Close But A Cigar! :
Yep, the Cuban box provides once again – Mark G (+4) occupies 8th spot this week.
Spotters :
Neil B (+7) on 11th, Ben H (+1) on 23rd, El Presidente (+4 – I’m coming to getcha!) on 32nd and Ben McK (-1) on 39th.
North American Scum :
They’ll be dancing on the streets of East Belfast (well, one person, possibly two) as Neil Templeton 36(5) just nudges past Neil B (Wiganers robbed twice in one week – who’d’ve thought!) to take this weeks £20. Well done Neil, the dilemma for you now is spending it on a ticket for Reading away or a nice trinket for your new house?
LA Galaxy :
…meanwhile down on StalyVegas, Danny Ashworth 11(0) will be fearful of being tarred & feathered by angry (snubnosed) locals for bringing shame to their hamlet.
Correct Score of the Week:
Everyone got Chelsea (for the 2nd week running) and Matt W / Neil B got Leicester 3 Coventry 0. This weeks score of the week goes to Lisa Grey for her loyal and very optimistic PNE 1 Man Citeh 3. Are you really here?
Bet Of The Week:
Stephen P racked his brains and gave us a 7-fold accumulator that was doomed before it even got started thanks to Mark Hughes inspired 10-0-0 formation…we limp into Week 4 £15 lighter in the pocket and look to Neil T to grab some back.
News:
Almost all the money is in now (thanks) – couple of things to mention… congrats to Karl C on the birth of his twins last month (we all know where your winnings will be going mate) and happy birthday to Mark J Brown who is now surely old enough to drop the “J” bit out of his name…

Week 3 table, Week 4 scoresheet and Quarter Final Cup draw to follow.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 3 – BotW

Currently £10 down – next up is Stephen P…

I am lobbing the whole lot (£5) on a 7 bet Accumulator. Home matches to win are – Smoggies, Chel$ki, Cardiff, Mackems, Oldham, Man Yoo & Rangers. Potential return would be £68.75 with price obtained from www.bluesq.co.uk. Get on it!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£15.

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 2

Mumm-Ra:
Another hefty week of big scores (maximum points available was 140) as the leading pack set a searing pace to the new season. Top score this week goes to Stephen Peaston 47(6) who must’ve had a great weekend considering he was at St James’s Park witnessing some scousers getting robbed (for a change!) – howay! Well done Stevie, £20 coming your way, I’d imagine you’ll be treating the missus to slap up stotties or something on Wednesday now…
Dadrock:
With a score to match her height, Donna “Brumchick” Edmead 13(0) slips to the bottom of the pile, and in a way, mirroring the Villa – you’re bad! (as in bad).
Correct Score of the Week:
Everyone got Chelsea, Aberdeen and Rangers (just to really bore me) Julian F/Olly O/Neil M got Hartlepool 3 Walsall 1 but no one got a really good unique score this week. Ho hum.
Bet Of The Week:
Ben A gave us a patriotic treble and probably wishes he’d waited until Steve Mac had announced his “team” as it was the football leg that let us down. If you were a seasoned gambler (i.e. you lose 90% of the time) however, you would have been wise to place it as three doubles, and that way get your money back! ;-) We’re now £10 down and looking to Stephen P to turn it round…
News:
Get your outstanding payments in please – some of you have been in touch and made arrangements, but I’ve still to hear from a few of you…

Table updates in full will start next week.

Week 3/Cup 2nd round scoresheet will be mailed round on Thursday after all the replays have been settled.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 2 – BotW

This is what we like to see, commitment, enthusiasm and bare faced optimism!

Ben A has come straight back at ya with Week 2’s wager…

I was thinking of an England treble to win the Cricket [best of 3], Football [England Spain] and Rugby [England Italy]?

What you waitin for? You’ll get best odds of around 16/1 for that little lot – remember the football part kicks off Wednesday evening.

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£10.

Spring 2007 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 1 Roundup

Derby Co :
The best week to win as it’s all free and easy from now on in. Ben Alder 54(9) will be in full agreement especially as he has opened a healthy 11 point lead thanks to a superb correct score ratio (nearly 33%!!). Well done Ben, £20 (you owed btw) towards your first visit to Anfield, surely another fiver will get you there and back from Gloucestershireness…
Sp*rs :
He ain’t heavy (I got that gene) and now I’m not so sure he’s related either. Julian Fernandez 11(0) brings shame to the whole of London (and bit of Hampshire) with his utterly mad take on score predicting. Go on, say Pompey will make it to Europe!
Correct Score of the Week:
Not that many to get, but lots of you snaffled up Sheff Wed 1 PNE 3 and Hibs 3 Gretna 1 and Andy C got a creditable Wolves 2 Plymouth 2. This week’s best correct score (and probably for the season!) goes to Greg Edwards for his 9 pointer, Livingston 1 Celtic 4
Bet Of The Week:
It was entrusted to our current champion and in time honoured tradition he’s gets us off on the back foot with his disastrous “Yokshire” treble (sic). We are £5 down and looking to Mr Alder to halt the slide in Week 2.
PAS Cup 1st Round Replay:
Matt Gingell 27 (3) – Jazz Sian 37 (6). Jazz moves on in unerring fashion to play Matt W away in the 2nd round.
News:
Get your outstanding payments in please – some of you have been in touch and made arrangements, but I’ve still to hear from a few of you…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2007 : Week 1 – BotW

Bet of the Week comes courtesy of last season’s champion, Steve Tagger…

Yorkshire treble: Leeds, Bradford & Doncaster to win.

…bet you can’t guess where he’s from!

Result: Lost! :-( Down -£5.
