Spring 2006 : Cup SF & L13 Week 13 – Final Standings

Champions League :
He got one of the scores he required, so Dan Bushell 38(6) is the final weekly winner… Shame you won’t be putting that £20 towards a Cup Final ticket eh Dan?! Chin up son!
InterToto Cup :
Mourinho reckons Chelski won’t do a “Devon Loch” (or that thing about swimming after boats?!) but poor ols Steve Tindall has! Propping up the rest with the worst score this week – a lost-his-bottle-total of 15 (1)
Correct Score of the Week:
Only a handful got scores of merit but they all go the same ones! Toon and Brentford were had by many so that leaves Mark Fawke out front with his Luton 3 Reading 2 score and £5 in the bank. Although, there’s a stewards as Mark tried to claim Will O’s World Cup qualifying virgin the other week. Should he be denied his prize for being so bold and brazen? You decide…
Bet of the Week :
Did you get on after last weeks £63 winner? I did and Dave N’s selections duly paid out £78! Luvverly! Unfortunately the man himself didn’t back his acca and endured further misery when Shola “Shinner” Ameobi netted in the final minute to scupper Dave’s Solano/2-0 scorecast – oops! Margaret A’s selection fell by the wayside but the good news is if you followed the bets all season you’d be £176 in profit!

PAS Cup Semi Final Results

Simon Lindquist 32 (3) - Stephen Peaston 24 (3)
Jamie Sellers 36 (6) - Dan Bushell 39 (6)

Simon L pulled out a 14 point joker (ooh the irony of it being the Toon to knock out a Geordie!) to reach the final a la his beloved Woking and Dan B came out tops in a titanic struggle not a la his beloved Chelsea!

Jamie & Stephen both receive £12.50, the Final on May 13 will see the winner get £40 and the runner up £22.50. Well done players!

Table News:

You Are A Winner!:
You’ll have to wait til Dave posts the final league table up – ha ha ha! Is it you receiving the inaugral PAS Lucky 13 trophy?
You Are A Loser!:
We all knew Greg Edwards would be rock bottom and will receive a wooden spoon in the post very soon. You are rubbish!
You’ve Won A Spot Prize:
You’ll have to wait til Dave posts the final league table up – ha ha ha! Mr 2-0 is one winner and the money is going to charidy (mate)…

All prize winners will be contacted and money paid in due course – congrats!

Another great season people, I hope you’ll come back for more come September – until then, it’s the Word Cup up next (I shall be in touch shortly). Thanks for bothering to take part and if you see Dave Nicklin about, buy him a drink cos his marking system has made this a whole lot easier and accurate (bar a few ricketts made by the staff here!)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : PAS favours for anyone who can get me a ticket for the Champions League Final – we’ve booked the ferry!!

Spring 2006 : Cup SF & L13 Week 13 – Latest…

Jamie S will win if Aston Villa win 3-2

Tapiwa M will win if City win 1-3

John W will win if Villa & City draw 3-3

Dan B will win with any other scores…

PAS Cup Semi latest

Simon L 32 (3) - Stephen P 23(3)
Jamie S 36 (6) - Dan B 39 (6)

Full round up tomorrow

Cheers,
Pab

PS – we have our very own Devon Loch in our midst…

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 13 – BotW

For the last time this season… Sob!

Bets of the Week from from our joint winners last week – first up Dave Nicklin…

Why does it have to happen to me? North London derby, Chelski at home to Loonypool & old firm game all in one week. Bloody typical.

Ok, excuses for losing another £5 out of the way, so here goes (Ladbrokes.com odds):

PREM: Newcastle vs West Brom
Newcastle @ 8/15
CHAMP: Crystal Palace vs Southampton
Crystal Palace @ 8/11
CHAMP: Wolves vs Brighton
Wolves @ 4/6
CHAMP: Leeds vs Crewe
Leeds @ 8/13
LGE1: Swindon vs Brentford
Brentford @ 6/5

Accumulator Potential Return: £78.44

…and next to Margaret Ashworth…

…well after much thought I have gone for a five fold – put £5 on preston (17/11), birmingham (13/5), bolton (10/11), notts forest (11/10), and man city (12/5) to win. theres a couple of interesting ones in there but if it comes off we will be quids in! (£624!)

Have a good weekend – can you afford not to follow the bets?!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 12 – Review

Accrington Stanley :
Penultimate week throws up a double winner – congrats to Dave Nicklin & Margaret Ashworth 34 (6) who both just edged out Week 11 winner Michelle F (more on her later). So it’s a tenner apiece for the winners, Dave has assured me he’s ploughing the money back into the PAS Research & Development scheme for the funding of 3D marking systems etc and Margaret will be paying for prediction lessons for her son (yes, you Danny A) who was only spared a weekly wooden spoon double courtesy of Mr 2-0…
Brighton (Seaweed!):
…now, I’ve never got my head round why people at the bottom of the table give up in the latter weeks – look what happens! Mr 2-0 and his hapless band of giver-uppers limped in with 12 (1)
Correct Score of the Week:
Could have been my Arsenal 3 WBA 1, but Tapiwa M and Michelle F got that too and it could’ve been Margaret A’s Toon 3 Wigan 1, but Stephen P got that as well. That left, erm, nothing of note (do you disagree? think your 0-1 midtable v top shock warrants a mention? mail in and tell me every week! you could be a contender!) Mark F is still out front with his Luton 3 Reading 2 score with one week to go.
Bet of the Week :
I’ve been told to rearrange these words by Michelle F – humble, eat and pie – cos against all expectation her wild treble of PNE, Pompey and Sp*rs came in to the tune of £68! Did you get on? I really can’t bet on Sp*rs anymore so I missed out – doh! So, with one week to go, if you had followed every tip so far you would be smiling with £63 profit in yer pocket! Next up, Dave N and Margaret A have a fiver each to play with… No pressure!

Table News:

Top:
Timing it just right, new leader Steve T opens up a 3 point gap on Jazz S, 5 points on Mark F, 9 points on Clare N and 12 points on Dave N…
Bottom:
He’s probably not even reading this, but he’ll be getting a wooden spoon in the post – Greg E is now 18 points behind Ben H
Climbing:
In an example to all, Neil T is this weeks highest climber up 10 places to 21st – other movers of note are Michelle F on 10 (+7) and Margaret A on 19 (+8)
Falling:
Matt W & Simon S fall 7 places to 17th and 18th respectively along with fellow 2-0ers who I can’t be bothered to mention…
Spot Prizers:
Will they stay put and win £20? Karl C on 11th (+1), Jamie S on 23rd (+1) and Gary B on 30th (+3)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Gary Naysmith – why?

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 12 – BotW

Michelle F steps up to the oche and decides to waste £5 on the following…

Treble on Spurs (7/4), Pompey (4/5) and PNE (7/4)

If, and it’s a big if, it comes in, you’re looking at around £68 I think.

Have a good Easter,
Pab

Spring 2006 : Cup Replay & L13 Week 11 – Review

Class A Filly :
It went to the wire, but Michelle Fernandez 36(5) has *that* Kilmarnock goal at home to Celtic to thank for edging her past Dam McG for this weeks £20. So, missus, is it a score towards renewing your season ticket at the Glazerdome or a nice big Easter Egg (filled with crisps) for me? You decide…
Donkey:
Being a little brother probably isn’t the best of deals anyway, but when your sister out-performs you at a “boys” game, it must be even worse. Danny Ashworth 12(0) scorn is coming your way…
Correct Score of the Week:
Could have been Neil M’s Hearts 4-0, but Mark F got it as well. Could have been Michelle F’s Celtic 1-4, but Gary B got that as well. Could have been the Sunderland Fulham A-A, but no one got that. And nothing else was got either this week. Mark Fawke is still out front with two weeks to go.
Bet of the Week :
Will O’s Willy horse was all wrong – we’re now £2 down for the season. Over to you Michelle F to get us back on winning ways!
Cup:
The replay result was as follows – Simon L 24(2) – Jazz S 22(2) – at least that stops the “machine” from doing the double!

Draw for the semi’s (guaranteed £12.50 pay out from this stage)

Simon L v Stephen P
Jamie S v Dan B

Ties to played on w/e 22nd April (Week 13) – neutral venue so all players can play a “Joker”.

World Cup: In the end we had quite a bit of interest but only a handful actually submitted a scoresheet…

Results:
Mark Brown (Pab) 16 (2)
Brian Simpson (Gary B) 30 (4)
Tom Bateman (Jazz S) 32 (3)
Delroy Ebanks (?) 35 (5)

Well done Delroy, top debut score! Whoever put Delroy forward, claim you free entry to World Cup 06 prize!

Table News:

Upfront:
The table has a horribly familiar look about it with Jazz S on top with a 7 point gap over Steve T
At The back:
Looks like he’s given up – Greg E is floundering 13 points away from Gary B
Climbing:
Unsurprisingly, Michelle F is the highest climber up 10 places to 17th – others are Matt W (+5) to 10th, and Mindy N (+7) to 22nd – both profiting from a Mr 2-0 week
Falling:
Unsurprisingly, Danny A is the biggest faller down 8 places to 29th – others are Jamie S (-6) to 24th and Stephen P / Will O / Neil T (-5) to 14th / 21st / 31st respectively
Spot Prizers:
Simon S (+2) to 11th, Pam D stays on 23rd and Ben H (+2) to 30th

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Betting “on the nose” isn’t very clever…

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 11 – Update…

Because I think some people have only sent their scoresheets to my work e-dress I can’t confirm this weeks scores just in case we have a Week 9 scenario again! And I’m not back in the office til Wednesday…

Sooooo, all will be revealed by Wednesday afternoon!

It was a close one and the unofficial winner has an 89th Kilmarnock goal to thank!

On the “guest” front – the standard was very high (putting us regulars to shame!) and hopefully they’ll all get on board for the World Cup and future Lucky 13 campaigns.

Week 12 scoresheet won’t be ready until Wednesday either as the Scottish have that stupid “split” thang – so be patient!

Until Wednesday,
Pab

PS – I had Hedgehunter on the nose and Man U 1-0/Rooney 1st scorer both go down in the final stages – booooooo! Neil T’s got a good story though…

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 11 – BotW

Bet of the Week falls to Will Oppong – he’s gone off-piste and I fear we’ll be £2 down come Monday…

Shotgun Willy on the nose to win the Grand National

Result: LOSER!

Have a good weekend,
Pab

ps – those who haven't already, make sure you send scoresheets to both e-dresses – thanks!

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 10 – Roundup

Reading:
Will Oppong 29 (3) got one of his desired results and wins the weekly £20 with one of the lowest scores recorded… Nice one Willo! That should keep you in Fiery Jack for a few months anyways…
Citeh:
Oh dear, not only are the players a disgrace at Eastlands, it seems the supporters are too – lucky for you Karl Chartres 8 (0), Psycho isn’t in charge here!
Correct Score of the Week:
Null and void as the only Will O, Mark F and Dan B got a decent one, the same one, Palace 3 Watford 1. Three weeks to go and Mark F is still heading up the best score of the season…
Bet of the Week:
Null and void as I didn’t get a late call from Andy B. Three weeks to go and we’re showing a profit, albeit £3…
World Cup 06:
Get those newcomers e-mailing me their details if you want a chance to win a free entry – it’s rookie week next on Week 11, so you’ve got til Friday!

Week 11 scoresheet and Week 10 table will be posted up soon!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 10 – Update…

Weird week eh?!

Will O is out front on 29 (3) and will win if Wigan win by any score or draw the game by any score. Even if Blackburn win he can still squeek it but the following scores mean a different weekly winner…

  • 2-1 and Danny B will win
  • 2-0 and Jazz S will win
  • 3-0 and Mark F will win
  • 3-2 and John W will win

Full results tomorrow….

Cheers,
Pab

Spring 2006 : Cup & L13 Week 9 – Corrections…

…I knew I came back too early…

Got the scores wrong for some of you – don’t worry Andy B, you’ve still got your £20!

Cup scores should have read as follows…

Clare N 25 (2) V Steve P 33 (4)
Jazz S 23 (2) V Simon L 23 (2)
Mark F 19 (2) V Dan B 26 (4)
Jamie S 17 (1) V Simon S 15 (2)

Be nice, I’m not well…
Pab

Spring 2006 : Cup QF & L13 Week 9 – Review

Hola!

Finally out of the sickbed and enough energy to type (I felt like ET when they found him by the river…) – soz for the disruption but I understand Steve P and Dave N have been looking after you – cheers lads.

OK, Week 9…

Weekly Winner:
Andy Bowkett won with 34 (5) just edging out Steve P on 33 (4) If you want to a last minute Bet of the Week Andy, the floor is yours – well done, £20 coming your way soon…
Bet of the Week:
Yep, Tapiwa M lost so now we’re down to £3-odd profit…
PAS Cup Quarter Finals:
Soooooo, Steve P knocks out the current League Champion, Jazz S has that Polish keeper to thank for the extra point on his Spurs joker to salvage the first draw in the history of the Cup (I think), Dan B’s extra correct score takes him through and Jamie S probably can’t believe his luck.
Simon L – Jazz S replay will take place on Week 11 – Simon, you get to play a joker this time… the other 3 through are now guaranteed a payout at the end of the season – well done!

I’ll get all the details over to Dave soon so he can compile a table – remember, scoresheets back to me (on both e-dresses please!) by 19.44 tonight.

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 9 – BotW

We’re £8.35 up but it’s Tapiwa M next up, so I reckon we’ll be back down to £3.35 on Monday – I’ll let him explain…

Wassup! Ever since I was a little pickney growing up in Zimbabwe I knew I was a Scouser at heart, so that’s why I moved to London to mix with all the other true Reds.

Anyway, a few of them actually started to go to at least one game at Anfield every two years or something mad like that so I had to hot foot it up to Mancland, where no one in right mind would venture “west” to home of 5 Big Cups.

I love it in my armchair, I really got behind the boys on that unforgettable night last May…

My bet this week is £2.50 on a scorecast of Liverpool 2-0/Carragher 1st scorer and £2.50 on Liverpool 2-0/Kewell 1st scorer. Later lah!

Result: LOSER!

Remember our recruitment campaign for the World Cup – get 'em signed up.

Buenos Weekendio! I'm off to Derby to watched AJ crash a hat-trick in a 0-3 win…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 8 – Review

Cookie :
Exciting finish again as it went down to the last game and Watford provided the correct result for Tapiwa Madovi 38 (6). Well done T, let’s hope I don’t have to take the £20 back off you cos of some, ahem, admin error in the score marking…
Jose:
Congratulations Neil Meredith 14(0), not for your pathetic score, but for the birth of your lovely daughter yesterday. Lucky girl takes after her mum…
Correct Score of the Week:
Loads got on the Arsenal revival and the Aberdeen cert. Quite a few got the Norwich score, 3 got Motherwell & Hibs 2-2 draw and 3 got Watford’s romp. This weeks best correct score goes to the Weekly Winner for his Newcastle Utd 1 Liverpool 3.
Bet of the Week :
God bless Jon T! He may have had a mare with his PAS but he came up trumps with his acca! We’re now £8 to the good after a £38 win – Tapiwa, you’ve got a tough act to follow…

Table News:

Great Height:
The new leader by 1pt is Steve T – big up.
The Pit:
The same wodden spooner as last week, Greg E, is now 6 points from not being embarrassed…
Scaling:
Highest climber is Dan McG (+10) closely followed by Tapiwa M (+7), Julian F (+6) and Ben H (+5)
Slipping:
Biggest faller is a joint effort from Jon T & Darryl M (-7), others of note are Michelle F (-6) and Mr 2-0 (-5)
Spot Prizers:
Karl C on 11th (+4), Danny A on 23rd (-2) and Andy b on 30th (-3)

++++++ It’s Q/F CUP WEEK too, so all those still involved with a home draw, remember your JOKER! +++++++

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Why did I have to be greedy and add the “nailed on” Wycombe to Jon T’s selections…?

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 8 – BotW

After the mix-up mare of Week 7, it emerged that Jon Tofeili was the correct winner and therefore responsible for redressing our £30 deficit – over to the bookies favourite Geordie…

If you do this, for a £5 stake you will get £38.19, about 8-1

Thought I’d justify my selections…

  • Think on form Arsenal who are pushing for 4th will be too strong for Charlton on Saturday.
  • Bolton… well they are playing the scum at home (need I say more)
  • Man Utd are playing well and should win… unless Fergie takes a bung for his old mate Robson.
  • Colchester aren’t too clever lately but I expect them to turn Swindon over as they need to open up a gap on Oldham who beat them last week to consolidate their position in the play-offs.
  • Grimsby are on form and beat barnet at home last week 3-0. Fancy a repeat against a poor Bury side.
  • Finally Aberdeen to beat Livingston. Simply cos their playing Livingston who are sh*te.
  • Note: Celtic weren’t on my coupon but I’d take them to beat Inverness.

My Bet… put on today on bet365.com

Arsenal v Charlton
(Full Time Result) Arsenal 3/10
Bolton v Sunderland
(Full Time Result) Bolton 1/3
West Brom v Man Utd
(Full Time Result) Man Utd 1/2
Colchester v Swindon
(Full Time Result) Colchester 8/15
Grimsby v Bury
(Full Time Result) Grimsby 1/2
Aberdeen v Livingston
(Full Time Result) Aberdeen 4/9

Result: WINNER!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 7 – IMPORTANT INFO

Just when it was all going so smooooothly…

Thanks to the eagle eyes of Rich Lee and latterly Dan Bushell, we’ve uncovered a glitch that has, ahem, has some great affect…

It seems the Dundee Utd score was marked as a draw but as we all know it was actually 3-1 – sooooooooooo,

Danny A is not his weeks winner (he had 1-1 for Dundee Utd). Sorry Dan, it’s cruel and we should have re-checked without a prompt – harsh lessons have been learned…

Jon Tofieli is the real winner with his total of 33 (3) – well done Jon, I think you owe Rich & Dan a drink!

Some of youse have increased your score (notably John W who is now top) and some of you (well just poor Dan A I think) have lost points.

The new revised table will be up on the webpage very soon.

Apologies from the Board,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 7 – Review

If two last minute “wonder strikes” hadn’t given Chelsea & Pompey last gasp winners, i’d be sitting here home, hosed and weighed-in as the weekly winner. So, it’s still up for grabs – here’s the scenarios…

If Palace win 1-3, Danny Ashworth will win

If Stoke win 2-0, Mr 2-0 and his 4 lazy mates (Andy B, Darryl M, Mindy N and Tapiwa M) will win (£4 each!)

If Palace win by any score other than 1-3, Simon Lindquist will win.

Any draw and I win!

Any Stoke win other than 2-0, Simon L and I will share the honours – I’m just waiting for that last minute goal…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 5 – Review

Englands New Kit :
He may be a loser in love but the boy from “Heartbreak High”, Mark Fawke 44(7) scored plenty in Week 5. £20 then for a good few hours trawling the internet for that *special* girl or maybe purchase of a new fleece to wear. You decide Drazic!
Wigan:
He’s from Wigan, probably supports them, might have gone to Cardiff but definitely feels a lost worse after the “horse-less drubbing” – hang your blue-and-white-comedy-hatted-head in shame Neil Birchall 12(0) – that’ll teach you to “ole” me after the semi-final!
Correct Score of the Week:
Four of you got the Blackburn debacle correct and Karl C / Jamie S we’re off to a flyer on Friday thanks to Huddersfield’s late comeback to 2-2 with Swansea. No one got a correct score that carried bonus points, so that left my Gretna 1 St Mirren 0 prediction as the stand alone best score. I thank you.
Bet of the Week :
We’re now £20 down as Jazz S was scuppered by QPR and Charlton. Next up is Mark F – we need a rezzer son!

Table News…

Top Board:
Mark F moves up 2 places to open up an 8 point gap at the top from Jazz S.
Dead In The Water:
Greg E slips down 3 places to rock bottom but only 2 correct scores behind the hapless Neil B. Both are 5 points behind Gary B.
Spring Board:
Danny A goes up 13 places to 20th, others upwardly mobile are Neil M to 10th (+6), Tapiwa M / Andy B to 17th / 18th (+7) respectively and your host to 24th (+6)
Belly Flop:
Jon T falls 10 places to 25th and others not really worth a mention are Neil T to 26th (-9), Jamie S to 28th (-6) and Stephen P to 29th (-8)
Gala Rosettes:
Clare N on 11th (-3), Ben H on 23rd (+1) and Julian F on 30th (+2)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : How can last week’s worst PASer win £200 on the Chelsea – Barca game on Wednesday? It’s not fair…

Spring 2006 : Cup & L13 Week 4 – Roundup

Colchester Balloons:
In a week when the big hitters came out to play, the predicting machine that is Jazz Sian 47 (6) reared his money winning head and ran off with another £20 weekly win. There are some people who think Jazz is a pseudonym of mine and I cheat money from the hordes every season. I may have to start doing this in future just to stop him winning… Well done Jazz, shame Sp*rs only drew though eh?!
Smudgers Ankle:
Going to the New Den is painful in itself. Seeing your team concede a last minute goal just rubs it in. Getting 14 (0) Gary Blackburne, was surely too much???!
Correct Score of the Week:
Many were on the Charlton & Hearts gravy trains, Jamie S and Steve T saw Joe Cole coming and Jazz S fluked a Plymouth 3-1 (they never score three!). This weeks title, and season best so far, goes to Mark Fawke for his Luton 3 Reading 2 prediction, beating his own previous best Colchester – Derby selection
Bet of the Week:
It was all looking spot on for some money and up stepped the Pie Eaters at T*tt*nh*m – worth every penny in my book! We’re now £15 down and relying on Jazz S to share his predicting acumen… Come on, you owe us!
Cup Update:
Humdinger of a 5th round! Stephen P forgot to play a joker, scored 21 points and still went through – Michelle F’s 39 point haul ran into Jazz S and Mark F can thank his Toon joker for edging him past his good friend Will O in the Croydon derby by 41-40!

Draw for Quarter Finals will take place very soon on Five Live…

Table News:

Top:
Jazz Sian (+5) opens up a 9 point gap over 2nd placed Steve T
Bottom:
Gary Blackburne (-5) is 5 points adrift of Danny A
Climbing:
Michelle Fernandez (good girl!) is this weeks hihest climber up 17 places to 11th – mentions to Clare N (+7 to 8th), Simon L (+11 to 19th), Jamie S (+10 to 22nd) and Andy B (+9 and off the bottom to 25th)
Falling:
As bad as her daughter is good, Margaret Ashworth is the biggest faller down 10 to 26th – of note, Karl C (-5 and off the top to 6th), Richard L (-7 to 14th), Mindy N (-5 to 27th), Julian F (-9 to 32nd)
Spot Prizers:
Michelle F on 11th / Tapiwa M on 23rd / me on 30th (boooo!)

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week: Why couldn’t that mongy Chelsea ballboy find a white ball amongst yellow balloons?

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 4 – BotW

Flush with the biggest weekly haul ever, Mr Chartres surprisingly avoids Citeh…

4 Homes, Holmes: Cardiff, Huddersfield, Carlisle, Spurs. Get on it!!!!

Result: LOSER!

Have a good weekend,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 3 – Roundup

Joey’s Right Boot :
Not only did he predict it, I suspect he was actually there! Karl Chartres 45 (6) must have been bouncing when the whistle blew at Eastlands on Sunday as it secured him a fifth of his weekly winning points – are we mostly booing or cheering Mr Barton this week??! £20 then Karl – Chelle said she’ll spend it on drink on your “date” tonight…
Bryan Robson’s Team:
Hanging their head in shame this week is Greg Edwards 13(0). Darryl M, you weren’t much better…
Correct Score of the Week:
Cancelling out Karl C’s Man City 3-2 was Clare N, Pam D and Simon L both got the Hammers score right and loads got Man U as usual. This weeks honour goes to Matt Worsfold for his Cardiff 3 Stoke 0 prediction
Bet of the Week :
So much for the Worsfold Fourfold Matt! We are now £10 down for the season – Karl C you’re up next…
Table News:
It’ll be up on the webpage very soon, we have a new leader…

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Mr 2-0 is 16 places above me…

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 3 – BotW Update!

Sorry Punters – BOTW Is Sol Campbell getting lost hopelessly chasing a couple of Irons round North London, oh no that happened the other week Who's the Predictascorer????? Bobby Zamora!!!!!!!

Right this week is the Worsfold Four-fold!

Lady Gadiver on Fulham, Cardiff, Hull and Tottingham to all win.

Get On It!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 3 – BotW

Steve T or Matt W haven’t come back with a Bet Of The Week, so we’ll go with Mr 2-0 who reckons the Arse will beat Bolton by said score @ odds of around 11/2

Have a good weekend!,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 6 – Review

Aaron Lennon :
One of the all time top scores recorded this week by a man who (I think) holds the actual record. My lovely Sp*rs friend, John Williamson 54 (8), collects £20 to maybe contribute to the “can we have our motto back” fund at Wh*te H*rt L*ne… Well done Johnny boy – top score!
Didier Drogba :
For the 2nd time this season Andy Bowkett 12 (0) is out pointed by everyone including a miserable Mr 2-0.
Correct Score of the Week:
Far too many got Celtic, Hibs and amazingly, Sp*rs. Steve P and Simon S got the Toon correct but this weeks honour goes to Will Oppong for his Burnley 0 Reading 3 prediction.
Bet of the Week :
Henry obliged, Nolan had one chalked off and Rooney was determined not to score last night… We failed again and are now £25 down. John W, we need your help!

Table News…

Chelsea:
Jazz Sian moves ominously up 1 place to top spot with a 3 point gap to boot
Sunderland:
Our resident Wiganer, Neil Birchall, must be feeling a bit like Pascal Gloves as he slips 1 place to bottom, 1 point behind Greg E
Newcastle:
Stephen P is the highest climber this week, up a whopping 18 places to 11th – other acheivers of note are John W in 6th (+8), Jamie S in 12th (+16), El Presisente in 15th (+9), Margaret A in 16th (+15) and Julian F in 20th (+10)
Wigan:
A joint effort in falling the furthest from Darryl M / Tapiwa m / Andy B all down 11 places to 26th / 28th / 29th respectively – other non acheivers are Michelle F in 17th (-9), Mr 2-0 in 23rd (-10), Pam D in 24th (-8) and Mindy N in 31st (-9) Intertoto Cup: Sitting on a cash prize spot are Stephen P (11th), Mr 2-0 (23rd) and Dan McGowan (30th)

Thought of the Week : Wanna be the first recipient of the PAS Trophy? It’s nice, sliver and not unlike a FA Cup moneybox – win this season’s title and it’s yours until the next champion comes along! Upon receipt you are obliged to send over a photo with the Cup so we can start building our Hall of Fame. Yours truly will be the first featured on said site soon – I won a medal for winning the Euro 92 title…

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 2 – Roundup

Hibees :
It’s never happened before and we had to dig out archive rules to make a decision on this too! Whoooooooo! Exciting! Two people didn’t send scores in for whatever reason, actually, while we’re here, does anyone know Steve Tindall? please get in touch! Anyway, as you may have noticed there were loads of 2-0’s this week, so many in fact, that Mr 2-0 35(7) won the week! The booty is shared with the lucky non-entrants however, so, Matt Worsfold & Steve Tindall will each receive £6.67 each and Mr 2-0’s cut (the devilish £6.66) will rollover Lotto stylee to next weeks weekly prize – all to play for then!
Pope O’Rangers:
A bit like getting thrashed at home in the Cup without actually having to run around for 90 minutes to get humiliated – Andy Bowkett is this weeks doughnut with a score of 10(0)
Correct Score of the Week:
Four got Hearts, three got Sp*rs (Neil m / Simon S / Pam D) and two (gutted) people got Man Utd 4 Fulham 2. So, John W and Richard L cancel each other out to leave Mark F with the best correct score so far….
Bet of the Week :
Now, the only reason I didn’t get on this was due to the muvver of all hangovers (a top night out with our current League Champion, the delightful Clare N and her beau, Neil T) and pure laziness (think of that Charlatans song…). Just as well, cos Dave N missed out on a bumper payday all because the perrenial coupon busters, Wolves, failed to win again – booooo! Going into Week 3 we’re £5 down – Matt W and Steve T you’re up next. I did ask Mr 2-0 but he just said “put 2-0 for everything…”

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 2 – BotW

Hola!

I'll be sending my scores round at about 5.30pm… snowed under here!

See below on how to present your “bet of the week&8221; – whether or not it comes in is your five pound dilemma – good luck!

Over to Dave N….

I've attached my predictions for this week, and here goes my attempt at bringing Ladbrokes to their knees:

  1. Kop out bet

If anyone doesn't trust my judgement (who'd blame 'em) then my suggestion is to stick 3 lucky dips on the Euro lottery tonight.

I'll expect a significant kickback if anyone wins the jackpot tho. :-)

Odds that follow are from ladbrokes.com….

  2. 6 Selection/Accumulator @ £5

OK, if you're still reading then you're probably Jon Tofeili and you'll bet on cockroach racing so you'll have no problem chucking a fiver on these dodgy results:

    Birmingham vs Arsenal
    Selection: Arsenal@10/11
    Manchester Utd vs Fulham
    Selection: Manchester Utd@1/4
    Leicester vs Wolves
    Selection: Wolves@5/4
    Leeds vs QPR
    Selection: Leeds@4/7
    Crewe vs Reading
    Selection: Reading@4/9
    Newcastle vs Portsmouth
    Selection: Newcastle@8/11

    Accumulator Potential Return: £105.26

  3. 7 Selection/Accumulator @ £5

If that wasn't enough, I thought it only fair to involve the Mackems in this for a laugh, so take the above plus this:

    West Ham vs Sunderland
    Selection: West Ham@1/2

    Accumulator Potential Return: £157.88

  4. 7 Selection/sixfold @ £3.50

Not as good a return, but if you stick a sixfold from all 7 games from bet (3) above:

    Sixfolds from 7 = Potential Return: £68.56

Before anyone asks, yes I am indecisive, yes I do analyse this $hit far too much, and no I'd never be happy with any of the above bets.

My fiver is on bet (2), plus the cheeky lucky dips on the lottery, just can't help myself.

Have a good weekend, Dave

Result: LOSER!

L13 Spring 2006 : Week 1/R3L2 – Roundup

DJ Campbell :
He wasn’t in the Cup cos he didn’t qualify and only got into the prestigious Spring Lucky 13 cos he’s now an honourary board member at PAS Towers. Yes, Dave Nicklin 37 (5), picks up the first £20 (always nice!) and can now play for fun for the remaining 12 weeks – howay!
Sunderpants:
Wigan, Bolton, out of the PAS Cup to the mother-in-law, 11(0)… My week was complete! I don’t like football…
Correct Score of the Week:
Loads got the Arse demise, a lot got Man Yoo (how to play properly in the Cup Mr Wenger if you’re reading..), a few got Villa, a handful guessed Brentford (Jamie S / Jon T / Matt W), Dave N should have won with his Huddersfield 3 Oldham 2. However, the current holder is Mark Fawke for his Colchester 3 Derby 1(scant consolation for finishing one point off the prize money?)
Bet of the Week :
Mr Nicklin, you’re up first – what will you be wagering £5 on next week?
The Cup – R3 2nd leg results
Ding dong battle between the Neil’s B & M – Simon S is the lowest scoring person to progress – John W is the highest scoring person to go out…

Spring Cup Draw will be made soon – 4th round is on weekend 18th/19th February.

Cheers,
Pab

Thought of the Week : Don’t try and move house and do your scores – it doesn’t work…
