PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 4 round up

“Congrats Paddy, you’ve passed your audition…”

You Can’t Fool Me Dennis:

After the points nirvana of last week’s “International Week”, it was back to a harsh reality for most of you in Week 4…

Last week, the average score was 37 points. And this week?

Only 9 players scored 30 points or more!

And all nine fancied their chances of grabbing the £20 weekly prize too –

Lily T & Hira Y petered out after promising weekends.

Matt W nearly succeeded in a remarkable Mr 2-0 assisted weekly win.

Andy K will bemoan the hapless Eric Dier.

Ben McK won’t be thanking Alex Laca anytime soon as Simon Buxton 34 (5) clung on to victory – courtesy of a 90th minute Hearts equaliser at Ibrox.

That last gasp equaliser robbed Ben of a correct score & his 2nd weekly win!

So, bravo Simon! Looks like that family business motto of “Don’t Give Up, Rise Up!” really is paying off, eh?!

The Boy Who Ran Away:

And flee we did – 54 punters failed to breach 20 points this week!

Thirteen couldn’t buy a correct score (some did ask, but, as always, we rebuffed…).

And, 2 poor souls couldn’t even get into double digits.

Alex T, your blushes were spared by the enfant terrible, Rob Currin 6 (0)

Still “trusting the process” Bert??!

Correct Score of the Week:

Man, this is tough…most popular score was AFC Bournemouth’s 0-2 win at Bristol City– 21 of youse got that!

Twelve got Blackburn’s “Desmond” with Coventry City

11 we’re so happy for Cambridge Utd 2-2 Ipswich Town they will actually wear that ballet dress…

Nine landed on the two-two in North London. The right side of North London.

Simon B, Chris D & Paul S celebrated the bore draw between PNE & Derby

Matthew M nabbed the form book upsetting Dundee 2 Aberdeen 1

Ben H was grateful for the 0-1 Chelsea win at the bus stop in Hounslow

Matt W thrilled at the thrilling Newcastle 2 Spurs 3

However, this week’s best correct score, and new correct score of the season, goes to Ben McKeown for his Si-señor-inspired, Watford 0 Liverpool 5!

Bet of the Week:

Rob Currin was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Sacre bleu!

Ligue 1 special –

Nice to win at Troyes – not Nice!

Lens to win at Montpelier – non – not nice!

Reims to win at Brest – non – not nice again!

All a bit merde really Roberto…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th  – zut alors!

Luke Stafford is at 33rd this week….

Luka, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please! (ask your dad to send them over!)

You’re not gonna follow Rob’s lead, right?!

Table News:

Young Love:

Jack Buxton remains top, 3 points ahead of Lee F & his dad, Simon B

Two crashed the Top Ten.

Alas Agnes:

Sam Osmond drops a place to the bottom, one point behind Robert H, who in turn is 2 points adrift of Julian F

Diamonds in The Dark:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 32 places is Hira Yonzan – honourable mentions go to Lily T (+22), Charlie H (+22), Paul S (+29), John J (+23), and Matt W (+22)

Two Doors Down:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 35 places is Rob Currin  – dishonourable mentions go to Peter M (-16), Simon Linds (-18), Alex T (-29), Tony M (-15), and Predictz (-24)

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 3 round up

Yep, I’ve ALWAYS supported The Toon…cheers! ££££

Feelgood By Numbers:

Ummmm, in a sensational week in football, PAS set its own headlines –  so i’ll cut to chase!

An unprecedented sixty five players scored over 30 points this week!

So you know what’s coming…

20 scored forty points or more!

It gets better – for some…

An unbelievable dozen of youse scored over 50 points!

No one landed in the sixties bracket…

However, lords, ladies and gentlemen – we have a new record points holder!

Please doff your cap to Rich Lee 72 (10) who deserves more than the £20 weekly prize for his efforts this week.

Outstanding performance young man – they should build a statue in your honour on the Wirral for that!  * 72 clapping emojis *

Buy Nothing Day:

Ever felt deflated? Missed out by one goal, game after game? Changed a 6-0 to a 5-0 based on getting leathered watching a game in Amsterdam during the 1998 World Cup?

To quote Olive, “you’re not alone”…

Only seven players scored less than 25 points this week (Dan? Dave? Is that a record too??!)

Only two didn’t make twenty points.

Two, amazingly, didn’t get a correct score!

Jamie Sellers 17 (0) is properly feeling it this week….

Correct Score of the Week:

I think i’m gonna cry…most popular score was Eng-er-land’s 0-5 win in Andorra– 29(!) of youse got that!

Twenty six got Sweden 3 Kosovo 0

22 landed the 6-0 Netherlands shellacking of Gibraltar

Eighteen will shout out loud about the 5-0 humbling of San Marino by Poland

16 had CR7’s merciless deconstruction of Luxembourg

Ten were all over the 0-4 to Germany v North Macedonia

5 secretly had their prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate in Mansfield

Four got Czech Rep’s “Desmond” with Wales

Dave C, Richard H & Tim P lapped up the 89th minute joy of San Marino 0 Andorra 3

Gareth M, John J & Justin C just knew Ireland would score against Azerbaijan for a 0-3

David G & Norman L banked the five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Cyprus & Malta

Reagon K nabbed the form book upsetting Forest Green Rovers 0 Swindon Town 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Patricia Fernandez for her I-wonder-if-they’ll-all-dye-their-hair-again inspired, Germany 2 Romania 1!

Bet of the Week:

Justin Corliss was on “Bet of the Week” position 60th in Week 2 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Well, here he is…

“I’ve reached the dizzying heights of 60th. And they say Aussies don’t know anything about football.

Anyway, it seems I need to give selections for the Trixie bet. I have no idea what a Trixie bet is, but here goes, and I’m going to take your comment on board about it not needing to be related to football.

Deontay Wilder to beat Tyson Fury (nearly!)

St Helens to beat Catalan Dragons in the super league grand final (happened!)

Scotland to beat Israel, both teams to score (happened – just!)

No doubt you’ll put a few of your own hard earned pounds on this nailed on cert and retire to somewhere in the south of France, or Tuscany or Hull.”

So, £1.95 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 60th  – better than nowt!

Rob Currin is at 45th this week….

Roberto, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please!

You gonna follow Justin’s lead?!

Table News:

Ladyflash:

Jack Buxton moves up three places to the summit, 7 points ahead of Chris D who, in turn, is one point ahead of Mark S in third…

Five crashed the Top Ten.

A Bee Without Its Sting:

Howard Thomas is down two places to the basement, one correct score behind Sam O, who in turn is 3 points adrift of Matt W

Bottle Rocket:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 58 places is  Ryan Graves – honourable mentions go to Luke S (+54), Tom WS (+51), Paul V (+49), Scott H (+47), Rich L (+45), Lily T (+43), and David G (+40)

Bull In The Heather:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 56 places is Hira Yonzan  – dishonourable mentions go to Jamie S (-40), Martin S (-38), John J (-37), Nick H (-36), Alex R (-33), and Paul S (-30)

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 2 round up

Erm, if you got less than 15 points this week…

The Best:

After last week’s mediocrity, it had to be a better week, eh? Well, for me at least, no!

Around a dozen people were in with a shout of nabbing the £20 prize (61 punters scored 20 points or more this week – which is good but also a bit rubbish for the others…ahem) but it was my ol’ drinking in Dublin Darlo mucker that managed to steal the accolade by way of that Liverpool thriller – or maybe the fact he had the temerity to put Blackpool down to win. From the ridiculous to the sublime…

Ben McKeown 39 (7) just pipped Lee F and fended off late challenges from Peter M & Steve M – howay!

Don’t be wasting that dosh on stotties, Broon & a St Maxim- i’ll stop now…

Monster:

We’ve got 92 real people playing this season (well done us & thanx to all who recruited a “newbie”!) but it would seem, with volume, comes complacency!

One third couldn’t manage more than 19 points this week as correct scores were even more elusive than usual.

However, only 2 players registered “zero” in the column marked “CS” – and single-digit scores were attributed to only one.

Which one?

Dan Clarke 8 (1) you really are all alone this week…

Correct Score of the Week:

And back down to earth…most popular score was Tim’s 1-2 win at Aberdeen– 25 of youse got that!

Eighteen banked the thrilling five points on offer for the 2-2 betwixt Liverpool & Citeh

9 got the Eagles “Desmond” with the Foxes

Five celebrated the bore draw between Derby & Swansea

Five more were grateful for the 3-1 Chelski win over Southampton

4 turned up Burnley 0 Norwich 0. Then sobbed a little bit as he thought of those poor souls who were actually there…

Ben McK & Mark S obviously guessed St Johnstone would beat Dundee 3-1

Reagon K was all over the 0-2 to new boys Sutton Utd

Greg F saw his typo come good on the game at Stoke on Friday

However, this week’s best correct score (and new Correct Score of the Season!) goes to Rob Currin for his I-like-exciting-posh-things-but-not-United inspired, Peterborough 2 Bristol City 3!

Bet of the Week:

Dan Hogwood was on “Bet of the Week” position 83rd in Week 1 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He went big, and…

Boom!

Burnley to beat Norwich – ooooooh, no

Reading to win at Cardiff – aaaahhhhhh, yes

QPR to beat PNE – aaaahhhhhhhh, yes

So, £6.15 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 83rd  – great start!

Justin Corliss is at 60th this week….

Mr C, I need your 3 choices for a trixie by Friday, please!

They can be any choice you want btw – BTTS? Goalscorers? A mixture??!

They don’t even have to be football! Horses? American Football? Golf?? Strictly??! Actually…

Table News:

I Do This All The Time:

Pete Britton moves up four places to the top, 2 points ahead of Lee F who, in turn, is one correct score ahead of Steve M in third…

Five crashed the Top Ten.

Prioritise Pleasure:

Dan Clarke is having a baptism of fire as he drops two places to the bottom, seven points behind Neil T, who in turn is 1 point adrift of Howard T

Steady I Stand:

Highest climber this week, up a whopping 72 places is  Ben McKeown – honourable mentions go to Peter M (+52), Chris B (+35), Alex R (+33), Bry D (+43) and Simon T (+51)

Girl Crush:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 44 places is Andy Fowler  – dishonourable mentions go to Rich L (-29), David G (-26), Moi (-26), Ryan G (-35), Lily T (-26), Debbie L (-35) and Luke S (-38)

PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’21 Week 1 round up

Unlike Forest, Charlie H saw “the wood from the trees” last season…

Miracle:

We’re back! With a bang!

No, not Arsenal – PAS!

Although given the lateness of this update, I could wax lyrical about “trusting the process” and how karma works (eh Granit?!) and that if you don’t think Palace v Brighton is a derby then you don’t know nuffink!

Anyway…

I’ll cut to the chase as it was all about Toon this week – and, they deserve a break right?

One Geordie quite clearly not in the doldrums this weekend was Dec-a-like (or is it Ant?) Chris Dixon 40 (8) who deftly picked “The Syndicate'” bursar’s pocket just like a little charver at The Hoppings!

Poor Mark S  has West ‘Am’s Michail Antonio to growl at for denying him a weekly win courtesy of that 90th minute goal in (dirty) Leeds.

The irony (or is it coincidence? “Alanis! You about luv…?”) being Chris had 1-2 for the very same match – howay!

So, congrats Mr D, £20 winging its way back to you ASAP – should secure you one of natty Saint-Maximin headbands mate…*cheeky tongue out emoji*

Fix Me Up:

Did you score 30 points + this week? Wow, we’re in awe…

Twenty seven of you managed that but 8 punters couldn’t manage more than 15 points this week  – and one couldn’t muster a correct score (I’ll spare your blushed Maffew…)!

Shocking.

Not as shocking as Brucie’s Newcastle though eh?

Ahem…

Two Magpies not feeling any joy though are Simon Turnbull & Ben McKeown 13 (1) – noway!

Correct Score of the Week:

It’s gonna be one of those season’s again…most popular score was ‘Wall’s’ 1-1 draw with Forest – 25 of youse got that!

Eleven got Hearts 3 Livingston 0

8 got the dull-all at St Andrews

Eight more got 3 goal demolition of Posh by Coventry City

Darren McC, Dave C & Patricia F lapped up the first half joy of Arsenal 3 Them 1

Predictz was well away with the 0-1 away win for Wolves

Kate S believed in Citeh. A 0-1 kinda belief…

However, this week’s best correct score (and best correct score of the season!) goes to Andy Kelly for his do-your-celebration-now-then-Ronnie inspired, Man Yoo 0 Aston Villa 1!

Bet of the Week:

So, we’ve failed quite spectacularly in the last few seasons on this – actually, we’ve always failed.

So!

This year, we’re being brave and we’re gonna really shake it up – actually, shake it upside down to be precise!

How?

Whoever is on the “Bet of the Week” position for the following week will be asked to provide a treble selection so we can place the allocated £3 for the bet.

The winnings will stay on that slot and will be collected by the lucky person residing there at the end of Week 13.

Got that? No?!

OK…

The person on 83rd will make the selections for Week 2, the person on 60th in Week 2 will make the selections for Week 3, the person on 45th in Week 3 will make the selections for Week 4 and the person on 33rd in Week 4 will make the selections for Week 5 and back round again to 83rd…yeah?!

Good.

So, Dan H & Sam A are in joint 83rd, but Dan Hogwood was 1st out the hat. (trust me, it wasn’t fixed…)

Dan, I need your 3 team treble by tomorrow lunchtime please!

No pressure son…

Table News:

It’s Week 1 – it is what it is! Click here for the full table

Please be aware we lost quite a few players but we can still gain some more (thanks to those of you who recruited the newbies this season – love youse!) – so if you know anyone out there who wants to get involved, put them in touch! It’s never too late…they’ll get a respectable Mr 2-0 22pts for Week 1 to boot!
