L13 Winter 2010 : Week 4 – Roundup…

“Bones are trembling…”:
Oooh it was a right ol’ ding-dong for top spot this week (check out the best correct scores!) with Charlie H narrowly missing out to Sam Arora 38 (5) who just nicked in front thanks to the stalemate at Ewood….Well done Sam, make sure your bruv and Vim G hear all about your twenty quid!
“I don’t know what you came here for”:
It’s dark days being a Man Yoo fan at the moment what with Owen Hargreaves on his way back and the Scouser looking to alienate himself from another set of adoring fans…even darker then for, I-was-there-before-we-bought-the-title, Andrew Darbyshire 9(0)…
Correct Score of the Week:
Blimey, some corkers this week! – most popular score was Wolves 1 W Ham 1 – 18 of us got that! 9 got the 0-0 in Blackburn, Shaun B/Simon Linds/Dave C got Pompey’s 3-2 v Watford and Frankie F/Vicki O/Stephen S got St Mirren’s 2-2 against Hamilton. Will O & Catriona J got the 3-2 between Cardiff and The Robins and Neil T & Charlie H got Blackpool 2 Man City 3! Julian F got Aston Villa 0 Chelsea 0 (thanks to Nigel) and Charlie H got Newcastle 2 Wigan 2. However, this week’s best correct score and new best correct of the season so far, goes to Sam A for his inspired Sheffield Utd 3 Burnley 3. (and he got Port Vale 0 – 0 Gillingham!)
Bet of the Week:
The curse continues as Howard T got it all horribly wrong….

Table News:

“You don’t know how it feels…”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top 2 points ahead of Josh H and these two are now pulling away from the chasing pack as Dave C is a further 8 points behind. Charlie H is the big splash into the Top Ten…
“…don’t bother me at all”:
Vim G is off the bottom of the pile and now 1 point ahead of his old mucker Savan Arora (oh how his brother is going to luv this!). Mark Sh is now only two points from the wooden spoon spot…
“Maybe we could make this work”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 33 places is Sam Arora (oh how his brother is going to hate this!) – honourable mentions go to Richard H (+13), Charlie H (+25), Simon Linds (+14), Neil T (+15) and little Frankie F (+28).
“But I just had to waste…”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places is Matt Gingell – dishonourable mentions go to Dave N (-12), Sean P (-14), Mark D-S-C (-12), Rich L (-14), Anders H (-14) and Debbie J (-12)
PAS Cup 2011:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2011(and pay a reduced entry fee!) you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…the little under pressure, Sean Peers.
And Another Thing:
Still not paid yet?! Gary B, get your payment in, fooooooool!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2010 : Week 3 – Roundup…

“It’s temporary, this place I’m in”:
Always bumper scores to be had on an international week as every seasoned PASer knows, and funny enough, it’s one of the stalwarts who takes this week’s £20! Howard Thomas 46 (8) just beat rising star Josh H for his first weekly win of the season. Well done Hitman, hopefully that’ll raise a smile in light of the recent redundancy from work mate… (he still beats peop, I mean, escorts them from nightclub premises though…)
“I permanently won’t do this again”:
Here’s a scoop for our resident hack – “Gareth Morgan 14(0), pivotal PAS pundit performance palaver presents perfect primetime for p*ss taking..”
Correct Score of the Week:
No, the 8-0 remained unpredicted – most popular score was Slovakia 1 Eire 1 – 20 of you got that! 5 got the 0-0 in Luxembourg, 12 got Austria’s 3-0 v Azerbaijan and 10 got Germany’s 3-0 against Turkey. 4 of you got the 0-0 between Norn Iron and the Azzurri and 12 got Portugal 3 Denmark 1 (and another 12 got Iceland 1 Portugal 3). Andy C /Neil M got Slovenia 5 Faroe Islands 1 and Dave N got Spain 3 Lithuania 1. However, this week’s best correct score and new best correct of the season so far, goes to Josh Hirst for his inspired Scotland 2 Spain 3. So, Josh really is smarter than Vicky O & a nearly 9 year old sister!
Bet of the Week:
Double whammy as Serbia prove to be the coupon-buster more so for Andrew D rather than Shaun B….

Table News:

“… I think it’s finally time for me to laugh about it”:
Shaun Backhouse stays top 7 points ahead of Andrew D who in turn is 1 point ahead of Josh H & Howard T. Tony B moves ominously into the Top Ten…
“It gets lonely for heavens sake”:
Vim Gupta stays bottom of the pile three points behind is old mucker Savan A and five behind Neil B…
“Decided he better hike it to the second floor”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 29 places are Ellen Fernandez & Mark De-Ste-Croix (zut alors! The French get good!)- honourable mentions go to Neil M (+19), Dave N (+24), Jazz S (+25 = oooh scary!) and Michelle F (+22 – oooh even scarier!).
“I fell into some kind of sorry state”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 26 places are Mark Grey & Pete Britton (karma for Citeh fans for spoiling football forever eh?!) – dishonourable mentions go to Jamie S (-20), Charlie H (-20), Debbie J (-24), Francesca F (-22) and Gareth M (-25)
PAS Cup 2011:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2011(and pay a reduced entry fee!) you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… the Palace Guard, Gary Blackburne.
And Another Thing:
Still not paid yet?! Get your payment across as soon as please!

The new online scoresheet function is ready for beta-testing (ooh a techkie word!) so when I get time to sort my life out I’ll be inviting some of you to get involved – seemit as an honour rather than a chore mes amigos…

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2010 : Week 2 – Roundup…

“How did you get so very high”:
You’d think scoring 40 points would secure a weekly win wouldn’t you? But no, Charlie H, it doesn’t. So, then you’d think getting 47 points with a mighty impressive 9 correct scores would win you £20 yeah? Well, no actually. It only wins you £10 this week as both Andrew Darbyshire & Shaun Backhouse 47 (9) somehow managed this fine tally. Well done boys, it’ll take some beating…
“If luck was a bird then you shot it down”:
Oh dear! The 3 minute flash scoring method will need a rethink as Michelle Fernandez 8(1) brings shame to our name. If she was Scouse she’d be wearing an armband….
Correct Score of the Week:
Another round of fine predicting – most popular score was Rangers win at the Jambos – 22 of you got that! 8 got the 3-1 at Fir Park, 7 got Celtic’s 3-1 v Hamilton and 4 got Leicester’s 3-1 against Sunderland. 4 of you got the 2-2 between Boro & Pompey and 4 got Hull 0 Coventry 0. Andy C / Mark F / Jamie S got Bristol City 0 Norwich City 3 and Dave N / Sean P / Vicki O got Swansea 0 Derby Co. 0. However, this week’s best correct score and new best correct of the season so far, goes to Vicki Osmond for her very brave Liverpool 1 Blackpool 2. So, Vicki really is smarter than a nearly 9 year old?! (sorry I got your age wrong last week Jess H!)
Bet of the Week:
As my Forest mate said, “Doncaster my @rs*” And how right he was! Yep, Dave C had a mare and won nowt for spot prize slot 23rd – next up is the Andrew D & Shaun B show…

Table News:

“You got so high you almost touched the sky”:
Shaun Backhouse moves up 11 places t go 1 point ahead on Andrew D who in turn is 9 points ahead of Jamie S in third.
“Lady luck couldn’t wish you more luck than I”:
Ooops! Vim Gupta goes down 24 places to the bottom of the pile one point behind Jason M.
“So take a jump”:
Highest climber this week, up a whopping 47 places is Charlie Harris – honourable mentions go to Debbie J (+30), Rich L (+31), Tony B (+25), Nick H (+28) and Jon T (+25)
“I won’t look at you and ask why”:
Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 57 places is Michelle Fernandez – dishonourable mentions go to Stephen S (-22), Ellen F (-31), Mark F (-24), Catriona J (-50) and Vim G (-24)
PAS Cup 2011:
In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2011 (and pay a reduced entry fee!) you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is… my fantasy friend, Stuart Longworth.
And Another Thing:
You’ll see from the table we’ve lost a player (boo!) and we might be losing another (double boo!) – not paid yet?! Get your payment across as soon as please!

Gonna be away in future weeks? Well, you’ll be able to find scoresheets up to and including Week 6, download and send over in good time!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2010 : Week 2 BotW

Our first Bet of the Week comes from Mr Crisp – he’s selecting to boost his own weekly winnings and put some money on the spot prize slot 23rd – fingers crossed!

6 Homes:
Doncaster, Ipswich, Swansea, Celtic, Man City, Liverpool (20/1)
7 Homes:
Doncaster, Ipswich, Swansea, Celtic, Man City, Liverpool, West Ham (47/1)
8 Homes:
Doncaster, Ipswich, Swansea, Celtic, Man City, Liverpool, West Ham, Hull (95/1)

Result: LOSE!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2010 : BotW Info

First up will be my old mucker Crispy – we had varying degrees of success with this last season but I’ll try and make it a bit easier to get some money into the spot prize coffers…

If you win a week you’ll be asked to provide 3 home win accumulators this season – 6 homes, 7 homes and 8 homes. I’m guessing the logical way to do this is to pick 8 and then whittle one away for 7 and then another for your 6, but, hey, you can do what you want.

Just remember though you’re trying to add to your £20 winnings and put some money into an allotted spot prize position for those less fortunate than yourself! We’ve set aside £3 a week from the entry fees to pay for this so let’s make sure we win it all back and then some!

Cheers,
Pab

L13 Winter 2010 : Week 1 – Roundup…

“You are the star, win the applause”:
We nearly had a debutant winning in his first week! Jez H was leading all the way until Sunday lunchtime when a fine Bolton display earned a 2-2 draw to scupper his haughty claims. All good then for Dave Crisp 30 (4) who stole in to take the £20 weekly prize – put it this way, Mr Crisp’s hungover presence at the Emirates on Saturday leads me to believe his money won’t be spent on booze…
“You should know the score, you should know the score by now”:
It was a random week for scores (not sure how I managed 20 points!) and Dan Pelgrom 6 (0) felt it more random than most… get it out the way early doors Dan!
Correct Score of the Week:
Despite what appeared to be a random week, quite a few of you did alright, you show offs – 10 got the 3-0 at Loftus Road, 5 got Fulham’s stalemate with Everton and 5 got Liverpool’s 2-2 with Sunderland. Julian F & Frankie F got Birmingham 0 Wigan 0, Stuart L (fine debut Stu!) & Howard T got West Ham 1 Sp*rs 0, Mark G & Cat J got Nottm For 3 Swansea 1 and Scott A (welcome back Scotty!) & Neil M got Reading 3 Barnsley 0. Andy C/Jez H/Cat J got the “desmond” at Hamilton, Dave C & Jamie S got Man Yoo’s two-two at the Reebok and Gareth M & Tony M (welcome onboard Tony – nice 9 points!) got Aberdeen 2 Rangers 3. Michelle F got Stoke’s surprise win at the Toon and Scott A got Watford 3 Boro 1. However, this weeks best correct score and therefore best correct of the season so far, goes to Jessica Hirst for her inspired Burnley 0 Bristol City 0. So, are you smarter than a 6 year old?!

Lots of payments have come in – thanks! Anyone who hasn’t got round to it, please do as soon as possible – don’t make me chase you!

Other news, Dave N who deals with all the science stuff behind PAS, is busy looking after his new bairn and developing the site to include (gasp!) an online scoresheet! I’ve tried the prototype and it’s like a dream (no faffing with Word docs for a start!) – I’ll keep you posted on when you can join in the fun but in the meantime, I may call on a few of you to do some road-testing.

Gonna be away in future weeks? Well, from Thursday you’ll be able to find scoresheets up to and including Week 6, download and send over in good time!

That’s it for this week – oh, we got any Baggies fans playing? You were good on Saturday and Di Matteo is the man – You.Are.Staying.Up!

Cheers,
Pab
