PAS Lucky 13 Winter 2025 Week 13 round up

La Christmas gift that kept giving…

Getting Better”:

You can tell it’s the holiday season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in.

Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into an alcoholic abyss with little chance of predicting succour…

Form goes out the window & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country.

So how do you combat this perennial problem?

Don’t ask me, I had Wolves, Aberdeen & Forest to win…

However, as missing out on correct scores for Hearts, Man City & Newcastle basically discounted you from any chance of winning this week – Peter M, Simon Linds, Paul V, Simon B, Nick H, Jack B & Rowan M still managed to give it a right good go!

However, it was a case of “leesy does it” at the top of the tree this week.

Debbie L glittered with 9 (NINE) correct scores, including a couple of added-on time assisted max-pointers.

But it wasn’t enough!

Yep, Rich Lee 47 (8) watched James Forrest rob him of 5 points at Celtic Park, and still he prevailed to land the last weekly twenty quid prize…

Ding, dong! (merrily on high)

Congrats Richie, shurely you’ll use that to send Herr Isak a get-well-soon card?!

Oh, and here’s the science bit – nineteen of youse managed 30 points or more, and 3 hit the forties!

Merry Christmas!

The After Eight

Assists

nothing to see here…

Where Have You Been Tonight?”:

It’s Christmas, there are crazy scores expected and there’s last minute shopping to be done.

Why bother doing your scores?

Me (yes. Me!), my mum, Scott H, Tim P, Martin S & Ben McK are wondering just that in a week where only 7 bods managed to score no more than fifteen points.

Four didn’t get a correct score (spare a thought for Alan C!)

Andy Brown 10 (0) is the one particularly bah-humbugging and saying good riddance to the Winter season!.

Correct Score of the Week:

I just don’t get it…most popular score was Heart’s 2-1 defeat of Rangers – 34 of youse got that!

Twenty will shout out loud about the three-goal humbling of West Ham by Man City

13 snaffled up the 5 points served up by Newcastle & Chelsea

Twelve believed in Ipswich. A 3-1 kinda belief…

8 thanked the Lord for James Forrest as they waltzed off with 5 points…

Ric P & Greg F obviously guessed Salford would beat Barnet 1-3

However, the final week’s best correct score goes to Paul Carter for his I’ve-just mirrored-what’s happened-in-the-Ashes inspired, Sheffield United 3 Birmingham City 0!

Bet of the Week:

Mike Cass was on “Bet of the Week” position 33rd in Week 12 so we asked him to provide a treble (that’s a home, an away and a draw) selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

Ho-ho-no!

Man City (H) – obvs
Bolton (A) – a low in High Wycombe
Shee U/Brum (D) – not even close
Oh well…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 33rd leaving it on, ummm, £0 – one to avoid people!

Great effort from all our BotWers this season, especially Rob “Full House” C!

Say it quietly, but I think we may be onto something here…or not.

Table News:

Chasing Rainbows”:

Two crashed the Top Ten and highest climber this week, up a whopping 19 places is Debbie Lee – honourable mentions go to Peter M (+16), Jack B (+15), Neil O (+13), Simon B (+17), and Rich L (+16)

Disco Down”:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 16 places, is Scott Harrison – dishonourable mentions go to Olly O (-10), Martin S (-10), Matthew E (-13) and Andy B (-11)

Full season update is imminent once I can work out what day it is…

Actually, I’ll get it done before you go back to work in the New Year – honest!

PAS Champions League 2025/26 Knockout Stages:

Congratulations to the players who made it through to the knockout stages – you’re like, the best!

Final group tables can be found here

PAS Cup 2025:

In order to be invited to enter the PAS Cup 2025 you will have to finish in the Top 32 after 13 weeks of play. Currently sneaking the last spot is…yeah right, like i’m gonna tell you that now!

Patience is a virtue mis amigos…

And Another Thing:

Thank you for taking part in another fab season – we couldn’t do it without you!

Please come back soon.

Very soon!

Actually, it will be early February – but fear not! You’ll be getting a constant stream of reminders…

Oh, and don’t forget to bring some friends along in 2026…

Special thanks to Dan & Dave once again for all their tireless work behind the scenes – they’ve really earned their sub-minimum wage salaries lately. But I took them all away due to their abject commitment to actually predicting scores this season…

Prize Money Update  – League prize money will be paid out pronto! (Less your entry fee for next season, natch…)

Merry Christmas!
