PAS Lucky 13 Spring ’24 Week 4 round up

The Godfather of Madchester

In Yer Face:

It’s getting competitive folks!

For all of us…especially this week if you’re called Paul (except if you’re one that lives in Australia)

Sixteen players scored 30 points or more this week with four of them duking it out to the bitter end.

Rowan M smashed home a 5 pointer, a nine-pointer, and then a TEN pointer!

Matthew S & Paul F both benefitted from added-on-time goals at Celtic & Coventry to stake their claim to the £20 weekly prize…

But it was Paul Vinson 39 (5) who just edged it thanks to that Coventry fifth, Ipswich’s 92nd minute 3rd, and two nine-pointers including the really annoying Arseanl one (yeah, guess who had 4-0?)

Congrats Dr. V, I’m sure twenty nicker goes a fair way down at the Broadfield Stadium!

Ooops:

Rather aptly, 15 PASers scored fifteen points or less this week.

Alarmingly, 9 of those couldn’t register a correct score.

And,

One poor soul was all alonesome on a single digit total…

That poor soul?

Thomas Stafford 8 (0) is on the cusp of a really unwanted PAS hat-trick if he can score nine points or less next week…one point better than last week though T!

Correct Score of the Week:

Here we go…most popular score was Ipwswich’s 3-1 win over Birmingham – 28 of us got that!

Twenty five just knew Motherwell would score against Celtic for a 1-3

Six got the very annoying late consolation spoiling Arsenal 4 Newcastle 1

5 had Coventry’s merciless deconstruction of Maidstone Utd

Four will shout out loud about the humbling of Leicester by Leeds

Nick H & Kate S had their secret prayers answered by the “Saints of Nil” for the stalemate at Wem-ber-lee

Rowan M & Deepak B somehow stumbled on West Ham 4 Brentford 2 (how????)

Danny B put us all to shame by predicting Sunderland 1 Swansea City 2

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Dave Crisp for his if-you-think-this-is-impressive-you-should-see-my-Cheltenham-tips inspired, Ross County 3 Livingston 2!

Bet of the Week:

Andy Brown was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 3 so we asked him to provide a 3 team selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

It went a bit on the pitch scrappy Sheff U…

“Right, let’s hope I can pick 3 winners and improve my reputation as it’s not going swimmingly in the table!
Let’s have Coventry to beat Preston on Friday night (more confident on that one than against mighty Maidstone on Monday!).
Next up, Southampton to batter Millwall. No-brainer.
Last but not least, Villa to win at home to Forest.
I know logic should tell me to pick Wolves but I can’t bet against my Blades, even though we have been embarrassingly bad this season. I won’t do it!
There you have it! Let’s hope we get some revenue!”

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th – oh well…

El Presidente is at 33rd this week….(sort’ve – when you see the table you’ll understand my dilemma decision on this one!)

Reminder to self – I need your 3 team selection by Friday morning, please!

I will get us back on track!
