PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’19 Week 8 round up

“Wha’ g’wan sistren!”

Everything Flows:

Unprecedented scenes!

After much wailing & gnashing of teeth on the PAS What’s App group (you really need to join in btw!) about the vagaries of “International Week”, it really produced a corker. Not even literally. Actually, actually!

So here goes – it was the…

Highest ever week score!
Highest ever week average!
Record equalling highest number of correct results with no correct scores!
3 equalled their best score ever!
26(!) beat their best score ever!
Half the field scored 40 points or more!
13 racked up 50 points or more!
3 hit 60 plus!!!
Dave C equalled his best score of 60 points and still didn’t win!
Ric P went 2 points beyond the previous all time record score – and still didn’t win!
So Lord, ladies & gentlemen, please be upstanding for Brett Dean 67 (9) – an unbelievable tally (26 correct results – imagine that acca??!) and probably the hardest earned £20 ever on PAS.
Congrats fella, you are officially a legend!

The Cabbage:

It really wasn’t a week to be rubbish!

6 people scored 20 points or less!

Clare T limped in with 20 (0)

Mr 2-0 and his followers could only manage 19 (1) – there’s a lesson in there ain’t there!

Spare a thought for Chris D though, he got the unenviable, quite unbelievable score of 25 (0)!!!

Correct Score of the Week:

Man, you missed out…most popular score was Ireland’s dead cert 1-1 draw with Denmark– 37 of us got that!

Thirty three were all over the 4-o to the Germans

20 got Sweden 3 Whale Killing B*st*rds 0

Eighteen had Croatia’s 3-1 win over Slovakia

18 more were well away with the 0-4 away win for Eng-er-land

Sixteen made us all green by happening upon Holland 5-0 Estonia

14 got 6 goal demolition of Gibraltar by Denmark

Ten had Spain’s merciless dismantling of Malta

9 were grateful for the 3-1 Scottish win over Kazahkstan

7 just knew San Marino would score against Kazahkstan for a 1-3

5 got the o-3 Azzuri win over Bosnia

Another five quite rightly predicted Spain’s 5-0 thrashing of Romania

4 thrilled at the thrilling Portugal 6 Lithuania 0

Sam C, Greg F & Brett D got the dull-all at St James’s Park

Richard H, Rowan M & Ric P doffed a cap to Belgium’s 1-4 routing of Russia

Paul C, George T & Karina H (welcome!) believed in Swindon. A 2-3 kinda belief…

Matt W, Rob C & Hira Y said “Look at me! Me! Yes! Me!” for their England 7 Montenegro 0

Martin S nabbed the form book upsetting Forest Green 0 Plymouth 1

Eddie O somehow stumbled on France 2 Moldova 1

However, this week’s best correct score goes to James Challinor for his I-knew-Norn-Iron-Nil-would-deliver inspired, Northern Ireland 0 Holland 0!

Bet of the Week:

Olly O was on “Bet of the Week” position 45th in Week 7 so we asked him to provide a treble selection for the £3 “trixie” bet.

And guess what?!

He veered from tradition a la Rob C & Julian F…but failed!

B(oth) T(eams) T(o) S(core)

Azerbaijan v Wales – ouch!
Cyprus v Scotland – ooooh!
Northern Ireland vs Holland – ouch!

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th leaving it on £2.35 – better than nowt I spose…

Shezan Juma is at 65th this week….

Mr J, I need your 3 team treble by Friday, please!

And Another Thing:

A word from the tech team…

“When you are editing your predictions, it is recommended that after modifying a Home or Away score that you press the tab key (on mobile tap ‘outside’ of the input box).

This should ensure that your change is saved, and you should see a brief ‘Saved!’ message displayed to confirm this.

When you have completed all your updates, it is also recommended that you then click on the ‘Back’ button at the bottom of the page – then open the prediction week again to confirm that your edits are all saved.”

Twitter is dead & so is Instagram – but we’ve got a What’s App group!

Wanna join?

Why?

Well, I send round reminders that you don’t have to check your email for.

Erm…some people are quite funny (some are annoying) & hopefully, we’ll get some good pics of away fans at games.

We will crush any “hilarious GIFs” though…

Plus, you can gloat when you land that 9 pointer in the 91st minute!

Email me over your number and i’ll add ya ([email protected])

Cheers,

Pab
