PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’17 Week 9 round up

Proper derby bruv…

Well Done”:  It’s tough at the top. Well, aspiring to be at the top. For at least a week…

Thirteen hardy souls duked it out for this week’s spoils with their impressive 30 points-plus totals (yep, even I got carried along in the peloton!). Frankie F smashed home the last two predictions of the weekend to notch up 35 points, Simon Linds grabbed a 9 pointer on the way to 36 points and Gary B, forever the bridesmaid, had two last minute goals earning him 5 points on Monday as he landed 37 points!

All very nip & tuck, but lurking in the background, despite his lowly dwellings this season, we had a player who noticed Arsenal had developed a bit of a habit of stealing last-minute wins from under the noses of Burnley…

Dan Pelgrom 38 (5) has want-away-tight-circle-turning Alexis to thank for his pocketing of Week 9’s “Sonny” as a 92nd minute penalty was duly dispatched on Sunday afternoon – well done Dan, onwards & upwards eh?!

Benzocaine”: So if it’s “tuff at the top”, can you imagine what it’s like at the bottom?!

Nineteen got 15 points or less with Savan A & Matt W just about scraping double figures albeit with no correct scores. Phew! That’s tough!!

Paul Vinson 9 (0) is feeling it this week….

Correct Score of the Week:

Is it me or is it getting a little bit easier to predict in the last few weeks?…most popular score was Norwich City’s 1-1 draw with PNE – 23 of us got that!

Eleven were all over the Scottish Prem 1-3 to the Dons

9 got the very annoying double last minute spoiling QPR 2 Brentford 2

Six got the dull-all at Tynecastle

6 more got the bore draw between Swansea & Bournemouth

Another six got the thrilling Hull 2 Bristol City 3

4 obviously guessed Lincoln would beat Port Vale 3-1

Simon Linds & Paul C made us all green by happening upon Reading 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Simon Lindsay (him again!) for his mind-the-gap inspired, Southampton 4 Everton 1!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 97 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

Yep….we won!

Barnsley v Leeds (37.51%) – the Yorkshire derby didn’t go our way…

QPR v Brentford (37.51%) – “Never give up on a good thing…”

Reading v Sheff Wed (37.51%) – in like Flynn!

So, £9.18 bagged & now £16.73 on “Bet of the Week” slot 45th!

Table News:

Stendhal Syndrome”: Scott Harrison stays top, stretching his lead to a big 22 points ahead of Danny N, who in turn is five points ahead of Ric P in third.

Kate S & Lee F crashed the Top Ten.

Heel/Heal”: Dan Hogwood drops one place to the bottom, seven points behind Will O, who in turn is five points adrift of Ethan N…

Divide & Conquer”: Highest climber this week, up a whopping 28 places, is Gary Blackburne  – honourable mentions go to Sam A (+23), Chris D (+22), Ryan G (+19), Pab (+16), Neil O (+16), Francesca F (+16) and Lee F (+15).

Mother”: Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 24 places, is Savan Arora  – dishonourable mentions go to Neil M (-21), Rowan M (-18), Rob C (-18), Paul V (-18), Alex R (-18), Mark F (-17), Norman L (-16), Dave N (-16) and Richard H (-15).
