PAS Lucky 13 Winter ’16 Week 13 round up

A Ray Of Sunshine”:

You can tell it’s the holiday season – people put down crazy scores, crazy scores come in. Mr 2-0 is oversubscribed as people “forget” or drift off into an alcoholic abyss with little chance of predicting succour. Form goes out the window (ahem) & “coupon busters” are celebrated by bookies across the country. So how do you combat this perennial problem?

Don’t ask me, I got marginally more than Mr 2-0 this week (actually I did well this week and feel it’s getting personal on the amount of scores I miss out on by one goal…)

Maybe Jon Tofeili 46 (6) can tell us how he came up on the blindside to swipe the last weekly £20 from a pair of old skooler’s hands?

My money’s on the fact he knew the fast improving Mancs would concede to the reviled Mackems (he is a Geordie!) in the last minute and earn him 5 very valuable points…or it could’ve been that he lucked out on Liverpool 4 Stoke 1?

Bad Boys”:

It’s Christmas, there are crazy scores expected and there’s last minute shopping to be done. Why bother doing your scores?

Tony Davenport & Patricia Fernandez 15 (0) are wondering just that….

Correct Score of the Week:

A decent smattering of correct scores this week….most popular score was Huddersfield’s 2-1 win over Nottm Forest – 21 of youse got that!

Twenty one got the 3 goal demolition of Hamilton by Celtic

20 got the correctly over-hyped 3-0 at Stamford Bridge

Thirteen got Hull 0 Man City 3

11 got the thrilling Brighton 3 QPR 0

Eight got the very annoying last minute spoiling Man Utd 3 Sunderland 1 and 8 more got the 1-3 Granite City win over Motherwell

Four nailed Brentford 2 Cardiff 2

4 obviously guessed Liverpool would beat Stoke 4-1

Four made us all green by happening upon Wolves 3-2 Bristol City

Mark S & Jon T just knew Norwich would score against Reading for a 3-1

David G was all over the awayday 0-2 special to the Cottagers

Bry D believed in Everton. A 0-2 kinda belief…

However, this week’s best correct score goes to Matt Worsfold for his would-you-Adam-and-believe-it-inspired, Preston North End 1 Leeds 4!

Bet of the Week:

So, the “system” spat out 3 draws that were the most popular among the 93 of you who entered predictions and guess what?!

We lost! Again. Ahhh well…

50.8% Rotherham V Wigan – after a 3 goal start….

47.7% Southampton V Spurs – looked good after 2 minutes…

44.6% Leicester V Everton – those masks didn’t work then…

So, £0 goes on “Bet of the Week” slot 65th leaving the total at little Brucie bonus £8.32

Table News:

Club Tropicana“:

One crashed the Top Ten and highest climber this week, up a whopping 17 places is Tony Bowley – honourable mentions go to Dan P (+12), Jon T (+14), David G (+11) Howard T (+16), Matt W (+15) and Sam A (+11)

Nothing Looks The Same In The Light“:

Falling furthest this week, down a whopping 21 places is Patricia Fernandez – dishonourable mentions go to Debbie L (-15), Neil M (-11), Simon Linds (-11), Peter M (-13), Neil T (-11) and Tony D (-11)

Full season update is imminent once I can work out what day it is and when i’m due back work etc.

I’d give it til the weekend if I were you! Whenever that is…

Take some interesting pics & remember to add #pabpas so you we can see your pic on the site!

Some away game pics would be good this season. Or some pics of away fans. Or home fans. Or just the match. Or players you’ve met. Anything actually. Food? Beers? Lovely vistas??!

Cheers,
